Before you post a comment, you might want to make sure what you're saying is accurate. This quote was said by an inventor by the name of Thomas Edison, not Thomas Jefferson, the man who basically wrote the Declaration of Independence.

Trying to make it seem as if someone of great importance to this country uttered this quote in the context that Mr. Hastings did is despicable. You should really be ashamed of yourself.

No, he was not quoting Jefferson. Hastings was quoting Thomas Edison in the first part, when he said "there aint no rules around here, we're trying to accomplish something."

Then Hastings says HIMSELF "Rules? we make em up as we go along."

So you can only attribute the first part of what he says to Eddison, not the rest.
