So i found this amp on this Music store website and the price is so cheap so i thaught id look for some reviews here on youtube for it and most of them says its a great amplifier with alot of stuff, effects or whatever you call it (lol) Im not the best guitar player but i can play pretty well i guess, so i was just wondering if this is a good amplifier, since i need a new one because my Laney 15w is not to good and ive had it for like a year lol. So is this something i should buy or not ??
@TheCOB98 it isnt really! i thought the same! but it comes with a CD and well it describes what effects do and amps, really easy actually! and it does a firework type showy thing! >=D
i have been playing for a long time and i can tell when i hear a good guitarists. honestly if u were putting in the effort into playing good in the demo im sure u could. lol
I've got a question, I have the Vypyr 100w...that buttons with the presets (4), how can you change the presset? And that button on the right of the fourth presset button, I think it says "Edit Mode", what's that for?
@Zvosab yup! trust me this is plenty loud for smaller gigs. just keep in mind that you do not need to blast it right away because you might only need to do it like halfway
I own this amp and the footpedal attachment it kicks ass Wish i had the tube version but it still sounds really really good had it for a year now and had zero problems with mine but they do have problems with it shortly after i bought mine i got a call from the store asking if there was any problems said they had quite a few brought back but mine has always worked fine the footpedal is a huge plus ur only useing half the amp w/o the pedal
Any one else have a lot of unwanted noise with this amp? I've had it about 8 months and when i first got it I loved it, but now that I have found the particular sound that I want to play, the Vypyr can't perform at all. A I get a lot of loud just scratching randomly, picking up radio frequencies. I will say having all those effects is really neat, but I would not recommend this amp to anyone. I really wish I would have dished out the extra $200 and gotten the 6505 1-12 60watt combo by Peavey.
@1Haresha1 Maybe i just got a Lemon, I don't know because I've heard good things about this Amp, but honestly I can't stand it. Not to mention it changes my presets for me and adjusts my tone? Don't ask me how but it does. If looking for a cheap decent Amp, The Fender Mustang is pretty nice. I decided to get a Half stack. Picked up a working Laney GS412L (Iommi) cab for $25! Just waiting for my Vypyr to sell to get my Head lol. Much better Amps than the Vypyr. Shop around. My advise to you.
@1Haresha1 no haresha roc killer just got a broken amp my amp probably from the store he got it from. dont worry this amp wont dissapoint! ofcourse you might wanna try it out for yourself before you get it if you please but you can hear it in this video and the accusations he is making about the scratching noise isnt obviously happening
@RiceKiller191 hahahaha!! bro just because you got a shitty broken amp doesnt mean that all vypyr amps are broken. look bro this is for questions about the amp for people who want to buy it not people who already has one and is looking to bash on it anyway. much respect on getting a good amp but i dont need to hear what you have to say about my amp.
@synystergates151 Not bashing on you're amp, I said maybe I got a Lemon, as in a bad one of the bunch. Also said I have heard good things about the amp. I'm just giving him some helpful advise. The Fender Mustang is a nicer Amp and it's cheaper. Giving him more input if he is looking for an Amp to shop around. And Yep! My Vypyr isn't scratchy at all! And you would know too since you own my Amp! And you've heard mine too so you know what it does more than I would! Cuz I don't own it!!
@jamessmith1701 thats a tough one bro. i mean if there is really no way for you to get both then i would have to go with the amp. the guitar is important but anamp is much much more crucial when it comes to playing. tell you what bro since you said your new to guitar then why dont you just get a lower wattage version of this maybe the 30 watt version and get a new guitar along with it and may i reccomend the ibanez rg2ex1. if ur new then you wont need something this loud for moment, thnx!
@jamessmith1701 its basically just a usb port so you can connect it to your computer. unless your gonna get super technical with it then you wont need it. i dont even use it.
@synystergates151 Ohh Hahahah. My bad. Well, my friend has got the same guitar like yours, he's got the v7 and v8 installed in them. I thought they were standard. Never really bothered asking him.
does the pedal do anything besides allow u to switch between things without touching the amp? like if i just wanted to play thru it with sum distortion, is it still a good amp?
@tico7464 yes! it is still an awesome amp! thats really what i did with this amp for the first few months until my band needed some songs in clean so i bought a distortion pedal. but YeS it works perfectly as a stand alone distortion amp. if i may make a reccomendation with the distortion. use either the 6505 or the krankenstein combined with the tube screamer and edit the tube screamer a lil so it wont have too much hum. but feel free to exlplore all the posibilities of this amp!
@codename40 well to tell you the truth i have a pedal board now i dont have the footswitch. but when i used to play live shows before i got my pedals i set it to one distortion that i want and used that for the rest of the song. not every fucking song has 20 effects man sometimes people are set with one distortion. and look man if you think its useless without it then buy the fucking pedal
@synystergates151 don't get me wrong , this amp is exactly what im looking for , but i dont have the money for the pedal , i just dont want to be frustrated of losing its full versatility ... that's what im afraid of, cuz i wanna switch between clean and dist and shit
@codename40 bro the sanpera 1 pedal is $99 i belive but if you buy it in guitar center then i think it comes free with it. all i can tell you for now that this amp is great and if you cant afford the vypyr 75 with the sanpera then switch to the 30 watt version so you can buy the sanpera with it.
idk y people say reverse sucks and its their for nothing. idk if u guys here deathcore and stuff but they use reverse sometimes wen their goin into their breakdowns
@BOAProductions1 dude i dont any songs that use that effect. but even there is one then bravo! begginer guitarist will enjoy this effect for a lil bit but will most likely find really annoying. dude if you find it fun then thats great but i personally find it usless. thanx for the comment!
Thanks for putting this up you have helped me to make up my mind and which amp to choose Line ^ Spider4 or Peavey Vypyr 75 and I chose the Peavey based on your demo of the clean amp models. Thanks
Lol, I just ordered the black RG321 and the 30W Vypyr. I was already interested in this setup, but this review and a cover of beauty and the beast with this setup made me decide on buying it. Good Review.
The Rec I believe emulates a Mesa Boogie Rectifier amp or a rectifier tube amp, great for Metallica tone from Ride the Lightning.
OMFG dude , iv seen the future, i want this exact setup, iv been looking at this guitar and amp for mouths now, but never got to play it, how is the guitar, do you think it sounds good, i already know the neck is super fast from my friends ibanez rg2ex1, i already got all the information i need from the previous comments below about the amp, thanks so much for this review
dude the guitar is sick! great tone especially for hard rock and metal! it also has a warm clean tone. and yes the neck is super fast! one ting though is that it can get battle scars very easily because of its finish but sound wise it is awesome and has an awesome comfortable body
hey man do you know if this amp is loud enough to use for small gigs? and how's the tone quality when you turn it up? also, how does it compare to the line 6 spider series? sorry for all the questions but i need to know...
hell yeah the volume is high enough for atleast auditorium gigs. it is definetley strong enough. the tone quality when you turn it up doesnt fade and if your at a low volume then you just crank up the power sponge. i would say that this is definetley better than the line 6 sound but the line 6 insane distortion has a better heavy metal sound but only by a hair. but this thing has a better everything else especially clean and crunch. and also a very awesome heavy distortion.
thanks a lot for actually responding! i asked everywhere but everyone ignores me. thanks for the review and everything, and the advice. i'll definitely try to get the vypyr now. one thing though, the way you select and go through effects is kinda confusing though, do you use the low middle, high knobs to adjust depth and length?
well the vypyr isnt as user freindly as the line 6 but you will get used to it in a matter of hours. you use the mid, treble, etc. knobs when your trying to edit you effect or distortion. thnx man
Thanks for the review, I thought it rocked! dont let negative comments get to you...they are usually posted by douchbags that are just trying to get a rise out of you.
im sorry you dont like it man.. i tried my best. i just wanted to show people the capabilities of the amp. anyway im very sorry you didnt like. plus yes that was an honest mistake. i was using an ibanez guitar so i confused the peavey 6505 to ibanez.
Ja ho!

synystergates151 1 year ago
@jamessmith1701
It's useful to record with a multitrack program like cubase, or guitar rig, or both.
If you don't plan on recording on your computer, you won't need this.
Otherwise, it's a good investment to buy 75w because you won't need any other recording interface (like M-Audio Fast track for example).

dude the guitar is sick! great tone especially for hard rock and metal! it also has a warm clean tone. and yes the neck is super fast! one ting though is that it can get battle scars very easily because of its finish but sound wise it is awesome and has an awesome comfortable body
thnx for the comment

hey man do you know if this amp is loud enough to use for small gigs? and how's the tone quality when you turn it up? also, how does it compare to the line 6 spider series? sorry for all the questions but i need to know...

hell yeah the volume is high enough for atleast auditorium gigs. it is definetley strong enough. the tone quality when you turn it up doesnt fade and if your at a low volume then you just crank up the power sponge. i would say that this is definetley better than the line 6 sound but the line 6 insane distortion has a better heavy metal sound but only by a hair. but this thing has a better everything else especially clean and crunch. and also a very awesome heavy distortion.

thanks a lot for actually responding! i asked everywhere but everyone ignores me. thanks for the review and everything, and the advice. i'll definitely try to get the vypyr now. one thing though, the way you select and go through effects is kinda confusing though, do you use the low middle, high knobs to adjust depth and length?
ChanielDang 2 years ago
well the vypyr isnt as user freindly as the line 6 but you will get used to it in a matter of hours. you use the mid, treble, etc. knobs when your trying to edit you effect or distortion. thnx man

Thanks for the review, I thought it rocked! dont let negative comments get to you...they are usually posted by douchbags that are just trying to get a rise out of you.

why don't you just play your amp rather then posting a review that obviously no one likes.
and i'm pretty sure the 6505 amp channel is based on peavey 6505 amps, not ibanez

im sorry you dont like it man.. i tried my best. i just wanted to show people the capabilities of the amp. anyway im very sorry you didnt like. plus yes that was an honest mistake. i was using an ibanez guitar so i confused the peavey 6505 to ibanez.
i apologize,
