  • remember this is a LIVE, camera phone (shitty at that) version....if Cornell records this in a studio.....not sayin better than Plant, but i'm def buyin it

  • @edvedd19 This was not recorded by a camera phone, actually it was recorded by a handy cam called JVC ENVIRO.

  • plant is better

  • chris cornell definitely does this song justice at least!

  • Yeah his voice is totally gone.........i can't believe people would even say that....

  • frigging amazing Chris has serious pipes

  • fucking raw

  • I am a HUGE fan of both Robert Plant and Chris Cornell, but I think Chris would agree with me that Robert Plant is thee best rock vocalist of all time. Chris has been the best for the last 25 years and yes his voice is amazing, but Robert Plant is the voice of Rock, it's that simple. And you won't find a bigger Chris Cornell fan than me, that much I can tell you.

  • oh children stop fighting. Both Cornell and Plant are fucking amazing. accept it! or fuckrightoff. :D

  • @rawkgawdez both are amazing but Plant is a better frontman

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • sick . better than page n plant n zepplin

  • @heyITSmeWHATSupSON hahahah, only in your dreams...

  • @renan1993borges lol cornell better than plant at singin

  • Robert Plant wasnt just a great singer because of Led Zeppelin. If he would have sang for purple, purple would have been way bigger. Nobody could match Zeppelin simply because nobody could come close to their body of work. Comparing Bonham, Page, Plant, and Jones to Purple is like comparing the Beatles to DEVO! There will never be another band with that kind of talent, chemistry, and creativity playing real rock. Listen to some of the vocals Robert Plant had in his solo career.

  • @JakeBiggers86 If you read any books that involve robert plant you would know that he was in several blues bands before being in Led Zeppelin. While he with said bands he was also a studio songwriter for many other bands, thats why if you look at pretty much any lyrics on Zeppelin 1 youll notice Robert isnt really on there. Also the band was originally supposed to have Keith Moon and John Entwistle (Steve Winwood was also approached to sing). Zeppelin could of been different.

  • I don't like SCREAM also, but I think that maybe he is just trying to "Cast A Wider Net", reaching out to people of different countries, cultures and musical tastes. I don't fault him for that. IMMIGRANT SONG IS MY FAVORITE BY ZEP and Chris did a great job. Take care of that voice, Chris and see you in Atlantic City at the Borgata on November 26,2011 . One of your loyal fans, Jamie Aran Gates, Philadelphai, PA USA

  • @DylanB003 Honestly, if you want to start comparing videos, I hate this song. I'm a huge Zeppelin fan but I think this is their worst song. Look up " Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm gonna leave you - LIVE 1968" Plants vocals are much better in this than in the Immigrant song. And for the record, Jimmy Page is a better Guitarist.

  • @mikehowton707 ya ok maybe that early stuff, but ian was a flawless singer and hes still touring. listen to child in time in 1970, ian hits an A5 no problem. Robert sang all his shit low live like rock and roll and communication breakdown, ian was ALWAYS spot on, and ritchie was way better then jimmy, jimmy was sloppy, stuck to the same old blues solos and didnt do anything new. Ritchie was a faster player, better chops, alot less sloppy, and started all neoclassical guitar. Page is overrated...

  • Fantastic

  • Sorry Chris, you have to deal with the fact that no one is better than Robert in this. You're awesome though

  • Doesn't seem like anyone knew what the fuck he was singing.

  • The best part of this cover was at 2:24, thank God it's over.

  • the only person who can scream better than Robert Plant....Mr Chris Cornell

  • @DrZen007 i think the only one was Steeve Lee, PERIOD!

  • @DrZen007 Ian Gillian and Robert plant are the best screamers, none better.

  • @DrZen007 ian gillian and glenn hughes could out scream anyone

  • @DylanB003 Ian Gillian learned to scream by listening to Edgar Winter. Glenn Hughes is a great singer, but tends to over-sing sometimes like he's trying to prove something. In his prime, Robert Plant could hiigher notes and with more power than any of them.

  • @rodentcafeteria what does it matter where he learnt to scream? and he over does it cuz hes pro, they could both scream higher then plant, ian used to hit a high high c, and hughes a b, the highest ive ever heard plant scream was like f# or g

  • @DylanB003 Obviously, it matters to him since he said so in an interview. Nothing wrong with someone revealing who their influences were. As far as who hit what note - who gives a shit? 90% of the listerners won't know it's a high C or a high P - and don't care.

  • @rodentcafeteria it does matter how high really, otherwise it doesnt sound that cool, just listen to child in time or strange kind of woman live, robert plant cant achieve that screaming power, he has a powerful voice, but he cant get all the singing credits just because hes bigger then other singers

  • @DylanB003 Young man, I am in my late 50's, so I assure you that I've listened to Child in Time and Strange Kind of Woman far longer than you've been on this earth. Do some homework - go back and listen to early "live" Zeppelin, particularly the old blues songs they performed. Plant could match Jimmy Page note-for-note all the way up the fretboard (to a point that is). There is a reason why Plant is and always will be considered a Rock God - because he is.

  • @DylanB003 Lets be real here, whether they could hit higher notes than plant or not, which I don't believe they can, Plant is far better than them both as a vocalist and as a front-man. Good Day.

  • @mikehowton707 Ya everyones a zeppelin fan over purple, ian could scream higher and more powerful then plant. Next ur gunna tell me jimmy was a better guitarist then blackmore... just compare these two videos /watch?v=kvftxdy0k54 and /watch?v=QR8Zoeeq0uA plant really sounds like hes using head voice, not powerful at all, and then u hear Ian scream, he many be using head voice, its its fucking powerful 1:23 and its a bad quality audio, but he sounds better then plant idc what u say

  • no way to campare plant with cornell,, no way to campare styles,, each guy each artist is unique,, no better no worst,, just diferent,, we should stop judging art and we should start appretiating it,, how can you say that some guy is better than other,,, vocaly,, who said whats bettter and whats worst other than our own personal point of view based on what we like??

  • FUCKING EPIC!!!!!!!

  • For Cornell, this is a bad performance. He wasnt even trying. If it were anyone else probably would have liked it. But for the best voice in music, poor performance.

  • He is a great singer. But, he cannot match Plant's pitch!

  • @ampiko68 word

  • @ampiko68 He is clrearly better than Plant. Plant didn't have such powerful voice.

  • @Audioslave3 Chris, Coverdale, Veder all have really powerful and deep voices, no doubt. Plant has an edge in reaching higher pitches without breaking into a scream, apart from the fact that his voice is also honey glazed.

  • wow!

  • This man is sooo damn handsome....plus he is a great singer and musician...I love him!

  • search Gotthard Immigrant song live- blows all covers this song away

  • that was pretty cool, the dude almost comes close to sounding like plant.

  • who the hell is this man???

  • @tinttiist do your homework. if you know not of chris, you are very much uneducated :P

  • @ricochetfuzzy sorry, of course i know chris...i just wonder...who the hell is that man who sings like an angel <3

  • My god he sings this song better than Plant.

  • He's a better singer than Plant. For one reason; Birth Ritual.

  • @Radz117 End of Smokestack Lightning?

  • @Radz117 now don't get carried away. Listen to Immigrant Song,Stairway to Heaven,Achilles Last Stand, Babe I'm gonna leave you, Whole Lotta Love,Kashmir to name a few. Listen in particular for the colours, the passion and subtle emotions within and not only the high notes. Let's all go back to school….Cheers!

  • @TMNigel I've listened to all of those songs over and over again. Now go listen to Birth Ritual, Jesus Christ Pose, Beyond The Wheel and Say Hello 2 Heaven, over and over again until you understand.

  • once I start watching a Chris cornell video I can't stop...

  • Valhalla I am coming . . .

  • immigrant song is just one of those songs that just gets u headbanging and rockin out, what a great tune

  • Bravissimoooo!!! Grazie per il video :)

  • Kick Ass!

  • I wish I could hear Chris do this in 1990. That would be legendary.

  • Awesome Shit Cornell...you are definatly the best Vocalist ever!!!!!

  • crap

  • @Iam18yearsolddddd Eat it!

  • Chris breaks everything!!!

  • holy shit he sounds like plant kinda!

  • @jonpianobass No, he sounds BETTER

  • Damn! Now that's love.

  • 1 of the best Led Zep song eva...awrite Chris

  • Great job. Play this stuff instead of that sellout scream bullshit.

  • WAY WAY WAY WAY TO FAST! None the less it sounds great!

  • good stuff

  • Sounds better than Myles

  • Chris Cornell's voice=Hammer of the Gods. How appropriet. Probably spelt that wrong...

  • ahhhhAHHHHahhhhhhAH.

  • Fuck, this would've been awesome to see live.

Saw Chris and the boys way back in 90, 92, and 95.

Glad to hear about the reunion, let's just hope it actually happens and Chris wakes the fuck up and stops collaborating with asstards like Timbaland.

  • I've always thoughts that Chris Cornell is the only person that should do Zep covers.

  • @TitaniousGrubbs and andrew wood , but he's dead /:

  • Hammer. Of. The. Gods. Will drive our ship to new lands.

  • How the fuck did he went from this to creating SCREAM?

  • mtv

  • @stupidsh1t

    other way around actually. lol

  • @stupidsh1t -- he doesnt scream. screaming is gross. he Wails. big difference. he is the master.

  • i luv it.

  • where was this concert at?sounds pretty good to me.

  • LOOOOoooOOOOOOLL xD

  • Hell yeah

  • who? you?

  • Is it me or does his backup band kinda suck? I thought that when I saw him live in November, 2007 as well.

  • @djamo69: I saw him in July '07, and I thought the same thing about his band. They did good on Chris' solo songs and the Audioslave stuff...but they were just lost on the Soundgarden material.

    #@!

  • LOL. The difference is that guy won't matter when he's 45. Hell, he doesn't matter now! Chris Cornell is a legend and there is NO comparison.

  • jimmy page

    jon paul jones

    chris cornell

    matt cameron

anybody capable of making that happen?

    let me know...

  • I prefer Myles Kennedy as the new Led Singer :P

  • dirty guitars!!!!!!

    high pitched singing,

    he sounds alot like PLANT.

  • Ditto nasty.

  • Led Zeppelin is one of the super groups, which started to show, how you perform on stage to a rock concert. They will always be very hard du compare with.

Another thing! It is so enjoyable to see one of the best singers today, play some of the best music ever made :-)

  • Not very good.

  • yeah, Cornell is totally amazing here!

  • Dude, Chris sounds amazing in this song. I didn't think he could pull it off.

  • really? when i think of cornell.. and like jesus christ pose.. i think he would be perfect for this song... i dont know how he sings without just hurting for a week after..lol

  • he can pull anything off he can sing so high and so low

  • @aaronleeschroeder except for rage against the machine... check out bulls on parade by Audio Slave... lol

  • @aaronleeschroeder like any great Rock singer!

  • @aaronleeschroeder He's 4 octave just like Robert Plant:). Chris is great, no one can sing Led Zeppelin better than he and David Coverdale of course.

  • @UpTheSnakes

Plant was a huge influence on him

  • @UpTheSnakes Plant wasn't four octaves. He was only like 2 and a half. He could go high but he couldn't hit low notes to save his life.

  • @lilORANG You have no idea what you're talking about. It is well documented that Plant had a four octave range.

  • @jdidnoid not really, the most I've ever hear him go is like 2 and a half. Generous people will give him 3 if he goes balls to the walls.

  • @lilORANG you are right,he had high voice because he is tenor, but he couldn't go so low like cornell

  • @jdidnoid You're right. I mean TECHNICALLY he was two notes short of having four octaves..But you're definitely right. He certainly had no "Two and a half octave range".

  • he ruless. very great. never tought that song could sound great without plant :D chris did it

  • Hear him in his prime days of Soundgarden back in the late 80's and Early 90's, that'll show why he's one of the greatest, he's still great now but 20 years of giving all he gots can really fuck up anyone's voice

  • With Soundgarden he was amazing. I admit, but now, he's just so overrated. He's nothing like he used to be

  • you know he is better than Robert plant on stage?

  • u dont know shit

  • You are not more of a zepplin fan than i am buddy. stop repeating the same you dont know shit comment that dominates your reply's. This is my openion which does not mean that LZ were and still Gods for me. some performances of plant were mediocre on stage.

  • listen to the bbc session disc of zeppelin, specialy this song, and then tell me if chris is better on stage than plant..

  • Not liking this version at all. Drummer pisses me off. And something about Cornell's voice doesn't come off right.

  • please Chris,record this,make it really phat & show how rock n roll was/is really made.peace!

  • CC... the only suitable candidate to replace RP on the new Zep tour......

  • Chris...or Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge. That man can sing and hit some real high notes

  • myles anyday man

  • great!

  • i wish he would have done some zeppelin back in 88-91 when his voice wasn't shot to hell

  • dude, Plants voice was always shot, he voice was never in good condition.

  • i was talking about cornell covering zeppelin...

he should have done it back in late 80s when his voice wasn't totally fucked

  • My favorite band of all the times with one of my favorite boys!!

  • U think this is video is good? i was standing about 20 feet from him during this performance. amazing concert.

  • no. that's your hearing.

  • @jhin2989 cornell is god pole smoker

  • Yeah, that was f-ing awesome. He should totally tour with Zep in 2010!

  • better than most of his shit he has recently done, weak ass band though

  • actually jason sutter is one of the best drummers around

  • like the band is fine it just sounds so generic. there doesn't sound like there is any heart in it

  • i agree, that drummer is so meat and potatoes

  • jesus he's actually going bwm-da-bwm-da-bwm-da. he starts off trying to do the drums and seems to find it too hard

  • he still has it

  • a very tight perfomance of a classic. 10/10

  • I would love Cornell to record a studio version of this and release it.

  • only cornell con do this

  • amazing!

  • just blew my load

  • You coons, this man has never "lost" his voice. You've lost your minds.

  • have u heard anything of his before badmotorfinger?

  • this is the best ive heard his voice in a while but he lacks any stage presence. he used to go freaking crayzy on stage

  • i think he's the only guy that can do justice to plant's vocals

  • There might be a couple other's who could also do it justice.

  • freddie mercury did a pretty good cover of this song 2

  • Yes he did, and queen did a good job of covering it as a whole.

  • what's great in my opinion is it looks like he is enjoying himself. when a person is relaxed and having fun the best shit happens!

  • Hey awesome vid , I was suprisingly shocked when I heard the first notes of this song , its real cool that he did it , I actually went to this exact show , I was extremely lucky to get a ticket cause it was sold out , defenitley one of the best concerts I've ever been to ......

  • that was awesome!

  • wow, hes getting his voice back, i cant wait till he gets back in his space with the cornell vibe, i want another euphoria morning, or carry on, he sounded rough on carry on though, shame hes wasting it on timblands beats.

  • He's gunning for the Zep gig surely

  • Wow, his voice is sounding incredible!

  • I think that Cornell is as good as Plant, but Led Zeppelin without Plant isn't Led Zeppelin.

Chris !!! I love your voice.

  • maybe he should tour with zeppelin

  • YES!!!!!!!!!

  • This is good, I like Cornells version of 'thank you' as well. Alterbridge also do a great cover of the immigrant song

  • fantastic!!!!

  • Exactly, his voice is insane!!

  • This show was 21 November 2008. Anyone who says his voice is shot or he can't sing live should listen to this!!!!!

  • WOW

  • he REALLY sounds like Plant on this one!

  • Awesome!
