  • My husband could play chess with adults when he was 2+ and went to competition when he was 3. He doesn't even get praised that much for it, it's the environment as everyone around was playing chess too. My teacher's grandchildren performs violin on stage when they were 3 because their whole family are musicians. It's better to be humble as kids gets lazy after you praise them too much. Average kids can all do well if given the time and effort to nurture them.

  • 0:22 - baby is racist LOL. notice how the photographs of the babies on top are white, photographs of babies on bottom are of different color.

  • ahahah :) cute

  • i could read when i was 2 no big deal

  • stop saying '26 month old' he's a little over 2 years old.

  • Good for Eric. I don't think Mensa recruit individuals via youtube unfortunately. You may be required to keep your day jobs.

  • i learned read when i was 3 :)

  • and you still cant form a sentance lol

  • and YOU can't spell sentence.

  • you cant either, its "you cant spell A sentance" douche

  • You still can't spell. The word is sentence. It's spelled with an "ence" not "ance" douche. Look it up dumbass.

  • well english is my tertiary language which i never even learned in school, i learned it from movies with subtitles and the internet... so excuse me for not beeing perfect in your only language.. asshole

  • You are stupid to assume english is my only language. I also speak french and spanish. Tu es un cretin qui devrait apprendre a etre plus poli.

Tu sais jamais a qui tu parle. Donde esta el sanitario? Pequeno loca.

  • more like mexican and canadian half french

  • You don't have a clue.

  • lol you freak

  • I apologize for calling you a stupid dumb ass. I take back every mean thing I said to you.

  • What if your kid doesn't want to be paraded on youtube?

  • aw! he's so cute!!! and verry smart!

  • I learnt to read at that age! Bless him, he is adorable. You have every right to be proud.

  • He's definitely above average.

My mom thought I could read snow white at the age of 1 year and 8 months, but then found out I couldn't actually read yet, and I just memorized the whole thing because it's my favorite story book...

Anyways, you people should say such mean stuff just because you're having an inferior complex. And I'm all for free speech and all that but, what some of you are saying are just plain cruel and rude...

So yeah... cheers to the cute and smart kid!

  • what a smart little boy, congragulations. people dont have to watch these videos, but to make themselves feel better, they watch it, and because they think everyone is going to agree with them they post an absurdly rude comment. But i give props to parents and especially the little guy. Keep it up <3

  • "26 months" wtf. Why not say 2 year old. There baby days are over, get over it

  • Not born a genius but a good beginning never ends!! Way to go!

  • aw you guys are blessed with a smart little boy

  • How would you know?

  • Is he reading, or does he just have the book memorized? :)

    He's so precious. :)

  • this is how i was at the same age my mom had a video of each thing like abc's numbers words the only thing I didnt know was sports like cricket and polo.

  • These parents are on the right track!!!

not only is this young'n reading but they allow him to analyze the illustrations and formulate his own opinion....

    I love that baby's smile!!!

Give him much love and nurturing....

  • If the kid wasn't happy with what his parents are doing for him, he wouldn't just say he didn't like those baby pictures; He'd say he'd hate the whole damn book.

  • It is a great thing that your child is doing so well with reading. I too have a child is has a great love for reading. He reads the yellow pages, signs, shop logo's, car names, new papers. I wonder if your child is like mine. Loop sided. My son 23 mths has been interested in reading for the the last 2 mths but has not mastered othered basic skills like ride on bikes, trikes? Could you let me now if your son is well rounded.

  • If you get him the dick and jane series he will be able to read anything.

  • That's real smart, teaching a kid to read before he can talk properly

  • Your child either has it or he dosn't. It is the parental support that is needed for such gifted kids. kids like that more or less teach the parents.

  • Is he decoding, or is it memorised?

It's certainly a very familiar text.

  • wow i was only startin 2 talk prperly wen i was 2!

  • This isn't all that uncommon, but that doesn't make him any less of a genius. Early reading skills are prominent of children who go to a montessori-type school, especially at an early age. But still, this is amazing and congratulations to the parents. Hopefully he'll be able to do something great with his intelligence.

  • My godson was like that. He was also reading at age 2. By 3 he was doing math equivalent to what a 1st or 2nd grader would be doing. He is now 10 and is basically on the level of someone in the 12th grade or 1st year of college. Unfortunately, as these children get older, it becomes difficult to offset boredom in school. This is something my friend (his mother) is now dealing with.

  • If he's teaching advanced physics at 8 like Sidis then consider calling him a genius.

  • Hi, I was extremelly impressed with Eric. I am very curious to know what it the enviroment and the nurturing rutine for a boy to develop this way. If you can please write and coment more about how he learns all those things. Does he comes up with questions out of the blue, or are they related to the books you choose for him? Does his knowledge comes from the books or information he receives from parents, or is it just that you don't know? Please, tell us, so that we can do better with our kids.

  • look on Glenn Doman theorie and methods to do the best

  • My son started reading at age 2, he could read the newspaper, pretty much anything you put in front of him, was able to count and so on, anyway we figured our boy was a genius!!! As it turned out, he's grown into a pretty bright guy, however not a genius, probably above average, but he seems to be a good person. I guess that's most important thing.

    I

  • i can't hear what he's saying but i cant tell he's saying every word right because daddy is moving on with it. what a cute little smart boy.

  • I can't even hear him

  • Wow he's amazing and you wonderful parents just keep it up!

  • Wow you remind me when I was young. I started reading Harry Potter in first grade XD Keep of the good work of raising him! He's gonna be a smart kid hopefully! Nothing can help your mind and keep you occupied through life like Literature. It's my favorite subject! Best one too ^_^

  • WOW i couldent even talk when i was 26 month years old except i alwaays said what you doing lol and this isnt a joke lol

  • Wow. You guys are doing a really good job of raising him. He's so cute. ^_^

  • At first thought he just had the book memorized, but as he gets more into it you can tell he is actually reading it, from the way he talks. He's definitely a smart kid:) I'd love to see a video of him counting or something. He reminds me of me;) I was doing math including simple addition and subtraction of fractions by 3 1/2 years. I don't remember when I started to read, but it was somewhere between 2 1/2 and 3 years.

  • Keep up the good work with him, you know it's all because of you two!:)
