  • Caroline is stoked that she gets to slap the shit out of Colin

  • Haha, scuba driving!

That one guy in Film Dub was in a lot of Three Stooges shorts.

  • The guy with the scary eyebrows looks like George Anthony, Casey's father.

  • I like how Colin and Ryan date in the game. Ryan's face when he finds out he is on a date with Colin is just.. I can't explain. Although, no offense to Steve, I rather have Colin. Colin's adorable.

  • Aw, Ryan and Colin finally go on a date :)

  • Omg,Colin is in two places!!!Behind host in 2nd row 0:29 and i chair!!!

  • Jaws theme .... what did people have before it (yelling the word Shark, or saying in a low tone of voice) Imagine James Earl Jones would make a good Shark voice!!

  • Nice white suit! I don't see many!

  • omg the sound effects always kill me

  • "he's fallen out the window!"

  • Ryan's hair . . . looked really good in seasons 4 and 5 . . . *sigh*

  • I'd like to marry Steve Frost, seriously

  • @sadie46A i think steve frost was the worst out of any of actors on the show. he can never stay in character

  • @bruizer1100 I think Josie was. She was just abnoxious and high pitch.

  • lol scuba driving...

  • oh my gosh . . . Clive keeps track of points . . . THEY DO MATTER!

  • @18lonnie

    only to the british

  • Ryan is so good when he just falls off the deep end in Secret.

  • Stephen frost is my favorite :o

  • anyone who thinks that ryan and colin shouldn't have been on every show must hate comedy. As soon as they started becoming regulars, the show began getting more and more laughs from the audience, that should tell you all that you need to know

  • @LMW87MMA

I agree that they were strong staples of the show.

But I think they should have had more than 4 contestants.

If they had one more seat, that would allow them a much more diverse mix of different performers from episode to episode.

Thats one thing I got tired of in the American version. It got kind of repetative.

What it did, it did well. But I wanted to see the american version experiment more.

  • @ToasterPig They kept the people they gave them ratings. Ryan and Colin had permanent seats from the start, because Ryan was a producer and Colin was a throw back in Dan Patterson's face who didn't want Colin on. Wayne was kept on because of the singing games and he was attractive, so he also brought ratings.

  • @CountryMusicFanForev

Oh I can certainly understand why they chose to do it that way.

(although I was never aware of any negativity between Colin and Dan Paterson)

Im just saying that I always felt like it was missing the variety of the British version.

It wasnt as chaotic as the British version, and I think the chaos is part of the charm of good improv.

I dont want to come down hard on it. It was still good.

They could have fixed this by varying the games more, and adding another chair or two.

  • that film looks familiar

  • Here He Is Now was hilarious! That would've been a great one on the US show. :)

  • I think on the US version it was good that Ryan and Colin were always on, mostly because the us woman just wern't that funny. And by the time the show went off in the US, it was pretty much given that Wayne Ryan and Colin were going to be on almost every episode. But the UK did a great job of mixing up different performers. They had several very funny woman and a good mix of people beside Ryan and Colin. The biggest mistake the UK producers ever made was getting rid of Tony Slattery

  • @orlandowill Well orlando, Tony became addicted to cocaine back in the 1990's, and Michael McShane dropped out of the show to help Tony deal with his addiction. I do agree tho. The days with Paul Merton, Sandy Toksvig and Griff Rhys Jones are long gone. Besides, was Josie Lawrence still on the show at this point?

  • The Big guy on the right in 'film dub' was Bud Jamison. He was well known in the early 3 Stooges shorts. Wonder how they would try a film dub on the3 Stooges, just to see how it would do.

  • Why is colin wearing clothes from Miami Vice? lol

  • LOL good 1

  • @stonehopper1067 Because Miami Vice is awesome :O

  • With all the best will of the world, I never could understand a word of what Steve Frost say. I've got nothing agaist him. He looks a very nice bloke.

  • I love when Steve goes "Hello there, I'm the vicar!" xD

  • he's fallen out the window!

  • I love Colin's Miami Vice suit. ;-)

  • "I would be glad to pick up the tab for dinner...BUT THE BITCH TOOK ME FOR EVERYTHING I HAD"

  • lol...so true.

  • ha ha i love that film dub :) and could people please just stop having these massive debates?! EVERYONE who appeared on whose line(uk and us) was fantatsic

  • yep agreed , thats why i liked the UK version alot because it always had different actors on it. The US version got stale its just didnt have enough variety. It Brady with songs, Colin is the woman, RYAN is the goofy guy and food eating guy OVER and OVER and OVER every single show.. WHERE was Jim Carrey?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • Jim Carrey was busy being (at the time) the highest paid actor in Hollywood, banking 20 million dollars per crappy film.

Also, while I agree that the US version was one long downward spiral for the show, I wonder why you felt it necessary to say so on every other episode of the UK series?

  • I'm glad someone FINALLY said this. The amount of people on UK WL videos saying how Drew was the better host (with his woeful lack of humour), the US crowd is more lively (and yet a thousand times more annoying) and that having Wayne Brady and a random fourth person kept the show "fresh" (when it simply didn't, since the fourth person would always be underused) is ridiculous.

After hearing garbage like the US fans spout, I would GLADLY read more "OMG COLIN HAS HAIR!!!!!" comments.

  • Hello there, I'm the Vicar

  • oh i love it get in the oven ha ha

  • This is why the UK original rocks ... actual rotation of guests, instead of Wayne, Colin and Ryan together week after week.

  • The US version MUST have Ryan and Colin at all times. I think they switch off with Greg, Wayne, Brad and Chip often enough.

  • Ryan and Colin aren't the be all and end all of this show, you know.

  • Name someone better.

  • It's not so much that Ryan and Colin aren't great improvisers--they are--but, TO ME (dunno about that other guy), part of the appeal of Whose Line was the different combinations of great performers working together. Having Ryan and Colin on EVERY show diminishes that and can make the show feel stale at times.

But that's just my opinion. People tend to forget that this is all subjective.

(Also, STFU, spellcheck, "combinations" is totally a word.)

  • I guess it boils down to personal preference. Don't get me wrong, I like the majority of people on both the US and UK versions. There are a few that I could do without... I guess it's because Ryan and Colin click so brilliantly that I really like them being there.

  • I totally agree. When i first watched the show i started at about season 7 and Ryan and Colin were just the best. But after you see most of the shows you really start to apreciate the different styles of the other performers. So it never gets old.

  • Is it a matter of being "better"? It's a matter of keeping the show fresh. The reason it died is because people got bored of it.

The likes of Greg Proops, Mike McShane, Tony Slattery, Steve Frost, Josie Lawrence, Brad Sherwood, etc ... aren't necessarily better or worse than Ryan and Colin, but they're different. They have different kinds of humour and it's good to mix it up. The US show forgot that.

  • Wasn't Whose Line also on at the same time as Friends? I don't think got bored with it, I think it was in a bad time slot.

  • Tony Slattery.

Having said that, it is all down to personal preference. But MurrayTheMac was right when he said that Ryan and Colin aren't the be-all and end-all. Message boards for the US version tend to feature comments like "the show wouldn't work without Colin and Ryan". Yes, we all know they're good but the fact is that the should could and DID work without them.

  • Tony Slattery is very funny, I agree, but where is he now? In ruins. I am very sorry to hear what happened to him. Tony was THE highlight of the UK version, with possibly Josie being second. As far as everybody else I've seen... Meh. John Sessions? NOBODY laughs at him on this show. I do like the few occasions when they had Stephen Fry on though. He's quite good. But in my personal opinion, Colin and Ryan were always the brightest spot for both the UK and US versions.

  • And him being "in ruins" somehow means he's less funny? Plus, I don't see how it's really fair to use being bipolar and a drug addiction as reasons why he's worse than Colin and Ryan.

And by the way, you're a little behind the times. I know all Tony fans say this but he's appearing in Kingdom now.

  • I'm happy to hear he's doing better. I didn't mean to infer that being a person with those problems makes you less funny. It's all about personal tastes. I happen to like what Colin and Ryan brought to both the US and UK versions. To each their own.

  • tony isn't in ruins now. after being diagnosed with bipolar, he's moved on to do more stuff

  • Like I said earlier, I am truly happy to hear this.

  • ding dai ai!

  • the best bit was in film dub when the guy fell out the window ryn was genious

    "woooo"

    "he's fallen out the window"

  • those faces Ryan makes!

  • Lol, Ryan "pixie" Stiles, nice going Clive.

  • Sound Effects killed me each time I watched this one....

they are just way damn too funny

  • Colin swims down, checks his oxygen, and opens the door to get behind the steering wheel! hee, hee

  • that cracked me up! :D

  • 'what is wrong with you?' LOL

  • Wow... I never realised that Ryan swore in the middle of this game before. He sure got away with it.

  • The Brits actually sort of allow much more than the American show. I've even heard people say fuck and fucking and getting away with it.

  • @FoolsNeverDie

well if its past the watershed you can get away with murder :P

  • not to mention, in the previous episode (i think, maybe the one before that one haha) ryan flipped off the camera for a good amount of time and it wasnt pixelated. it was special :)

  • this is from 1996ish yeah?

I think this is the first episode I ever saw, Whose Line history for me :D

  • Man the British version is better than the US version for 1 chief reason....

THE FUCKING CENSORS. If it was shot on HBO or something, it would be epic.

  • Someone I used to know!!! :D

  • Colin's look'n nice!

  • Thank you for completing my request! :) Awesome episode :)

  • *jaws theme* oh shit

  • "I'm looking at that 400 pounds you got hanging off your arm you call a leg."

I laughed so hard! I don't think that's how Ryan meant that to come out but, who cares? Still hilarious!

  • Oh my God, the scuba 'driving' instructor. :D

  • must be a british thing. i wonder which side of the road they scuba drive on?

  • Wow..They should've played Here He Is Now more often!

  • DEF agree. That was hilarious.

  • In some versions it's called "That'll be Charlie Now", and there's just one person being described.
