the only good parts are when you play as Frodo in stealth mode, and Aragorn battleing with a sword and kill many Orcs... a nice change from running, hiding and sneaking from the enemy to actualyl kill them yourself... but then... when you become Gandalf... it all becomes irritation, and i didnt inish the game from that point... Gandalf is a awfull swords fighter... and the only fun thing to do is using magic, but you can only perform that in a limit... a shame i think... iots the best game...

@TheWitchking123 I think, it would've been near perfect if they had made it entirely a stealth game with Frodo. Then the combat system could just be forgotten entirely, the levels would be more atmospheric and the length could be forgiven. The best part of the entire game is the very beginning,.

That screwed me over when I first played it as well, it being my first PS2 game ever, but that's not as bad as in Max Payne 2 where I played 8 levels in thinking it would autosave because there was no save function visible, and had to start all over again when I found out you have to exit the game to main menu to save manually.

But then again, I also hate when games autosave every three minutes as well.

I really enjoyed this game, but I also enjoyed the others. I'd say that Return of the King was the best of the 3, followed by this. The Hobbit game was also very good- I found it really charming, it exuded much more personality and warmth than the movie games.

They seem awfully similar because Tolkien described in great detail, as well as drew, a huge amount of what he described.

The only way Jackson could have fucked up the atmosphere/environments with a budget like that was if he was actually, 100%, grade A retarded.

He did manage to fuck everything else besides the performances and a scene or two up though. Good job, Jackson! You destroyed the best loved work of English literature of the 20th century!

I see, well i am half way through reading "The Two Towers" as we speak. After reading the first book i just had to read more and so bought the second and the third book. I actually saw the trilogy before reading it which in some ways is unfortunate for me but on the other hand helped me with mental imagery.

I love the books so far and i also love the films. I think credit is due to Peter Jackson for attempting to visually re-create what i think is the one of the best fictional books written.

And the films were only "extremely good" if you love cinematic cliche and horrifically poor adaptation practices. I guess "I AM NO MAN!" and bad C3PO/R2D2 Merry/Pippin dialogue constitutes a good adaptation of one of the best loved English novels of all time, huh?
