reading all these amazing comments is well, as some of the other genuine pilots have put it we work for our customers and their safety. Why wouldnt the pilots do a good job? Just becuase they are hired by Ryan air doesnt mean they cant fly. Just becuase the company has got some weird rules when it comes to the passengers doesnt mean the pilots cant land a 737 in heavy winds ;)
Nice landing to say atleast, quite some wingflex on final!
@damroc41 Diligence, Passion, Perseverance, Honor to name a few... I have immense respect for Aviator's and hope to join that elite club and be a man of the skies some day..
@damroc41 Yes you should, pilots make a lot of cash and it's a real easy job because the planes practically fly themselves, except for the landing. But the education for it takes a lot of time and practicing
@Scrapari Have you flown before? Do you know how much effort, skill and personal development that is required in flying? We get what we deserve because we bear the responsibilities of dozens if not hundreds of lives, and machineries that are worth millions? The next time you step onto a plane, just think about what you are entrusting the pilot with, and you might realize that its not that easy afterall!
@damroc41 Be a pilot if you love flying, otherwise you will be sick of it real soon. :)
@pocky54321 Legend, Pilots take so many risks to make ungrateful people happy, a small bump "worst landing ever" any landing you walk away from is a good landing
@Scrapari oh its easy ya...come into land where the wind is gusting the rain is pelting and you can see fuck all out the window meanwhile trying to nail the flight directors and keep it on speed while simultaneously getting rocked by turbulence and trying to take in multiple bits of information be it systems or whatever then getting it on the runway and not a passenger to say thanks or good job just commenting on how the weather at home isnt like it was on holiday. stil think its easy? get facts
@Scrapari pilots get paid next to shit. Their pay is their love of flying and being able to do it all day all week and all month. The computer goes out the window once you have any sort of emergency. The computer wont put out a cabin fire, the computer wont restart a failed engine, the computer wont magically land a crippled airliner in water. You should take some flying lessons and see that it is both a heavy responsibility and a passion
@Exocisme hahaha i meant the passenger seats and they should really buy more planes like the 767 777 787 a380 737-8 737-900 737 MAX a330 a380 and 747 tell that to O'Leary if ya see him ask him to consider that plan XD it'd b nice to see a ryanair 777 in real life :)
@FredLarsson They do make hard landings on purpose, but not to avoid go arounds, but because it's how Boeing suggest to do it, no flare. By landing hard you get the weight down firmly on the wheels and can then have full braking authority, break through wet layers on rwy, ensure activation of automatic systems (spd brakes etc) etc. Most airlines do not do this as 'passengers don't like it'. But, the fact is, it's the right way, a good positive landing, the gear can take it. Hope that answers.
you couldnt ask for a smoother landing than that. However, ive been on some terrible ryanair landings. But then again, i dont think its only ryanair who occasionally has hard landings.. Good video
Ryanair is nothing special. There isn't much leg room on flights, anything extra you want will cost more money for a scabby amount and I'm happy to make joked about them. But they are incredibly good value and I'll never stop flying with them
Perfect landing .. well done ! Ryanair ought to get a lot more credit than they do, they are a perfectly good airline, I've flown with them and it has been fine. The pilots are just as good as any other.
People are always whining that they want cheap tickets. Then they have cheap tickets and of course there is another complaint... The airliner (ryan air) sucks.
It's not the pilots that are the problem, it's the company's attitude towards it's passengers. They are treated like sheep, fights to grab seats and non stop selling in flight. I stopped flying with them. You get what you pay for.
@ollo1982 I flew the 737 for 6 years and have 4500 hours on it, but then I converted onto to the far superior Airbus A320/A321 which makes the 737 look like a bucket of shit
Ryanair pilots are really goodpilots they professional and they are not bad just because its cheapflightsairline :) RYANAIR IS rreally good ouhh and nice video @mythicalireland
That was a normal Paddy-Landing , never 43 knots. Anyway Ryanair pilots think knots are just for tying-ones-laces ...... wouldn't know a knot from a 'adiabatic-lapse-rate' !
Haha funny how some people think pilots of some airlines are worse/better then others.. Pilots are pilots there are bad ones and good ones and all of them have to go through the same tests and education.
I dont get why Ryanair pilots are always stereotyped for having bad landings and being bad pilots...They're pilots they get the same training as any other 737-800 pilot they have the same skills...the only difference is they fly for a budget airline so their wages may be less....They are just ordinary pilots...Like if you agree :)
Just because they are a budget airline many people think their pilots get budget training. Definately not true. Remember all pilots have to pass a series of very difficult tests before they can transport people.
to be fair, ryanair does have some of the worlds most inexperienced pilots.. as far as turbine/turbo fan/turbo prop time goes. I wouldnt use the word bad, just inexperienced. ( in most cases )
@Juppie902 I'm sorry but I do not know what this so called 'trolling' is. But to answer your reply, I am quite happy with my knowledge of the internet and how to use it for my needs.
I was merely commenting on the fact that many people are very envious of pilots and will look for anything to put them and the job down. It is a fantastic career but they work very hard to achieve what most can only dream of.
@prono36 Excuse you. Anyone who calls another person "scruffy assholes" must be speaking for yourself. I'd appreciate if you didn't tar us all with the same brush just because you had a bad experiance.
i just want to say that ryanair is an amazing airline... i dont no what all this crap is about them having crap pilots.. its so untrue... do you actually think a bad pilot would be aloud to fly a plane
I work for Ryanair and the training is no different than that of BA or Virgin. Every pilot wants to put the aircraft down as gently as possible trust me! we dont aim to get heavy landings. It would be interesting to see those who believe they understand what its like to land a 60 tonne aircraft, actually land one in a full motion simulator. Alot harder than you would think.
@flyzapva They have had what, 2 incidents??? A bird strike and an engine oil leak. Comparably and with the amount of volume, that's a superb safety record.

@mido1317 It certainly look like a simple landing but I reckon there was a lot more to it than first met the eye! From experience landing can be a very intense and busy experience - even in ideal conditions. And if this pilot was a perfectionist (like me ;) ) he was probably going for a centre-line runway contact. Also we can see a lot of wing flex which suggests rising airs from the runway which can cause problems! That said, it does look like a rather simple landing :)
@hookiebookie1 Agreed! But are you saying that this little video is all what you need to confirm the difficulty of this approach and landing?!! Come on!! We've seen much worse..Really much worse! So unless it's a cockpit view (or at least, a R/W centerline view) with a proof of the METAR on that day (or taking a glance at the wind sock) on that landing, sorry..I still hold my grounds! It looks damn easy.. I won't give the pilots there any credit for doing only what they should do!
@mido1317 True that, you hold a very significant point..! By the same argument however we don't have the METAR of that day, nor do we have the IFR approach pattern which, given, can be very simple at the majority of airports, could have proven tricky here with given weather conditions of the day. However, I must confess I don't really have enough evidence to argue back so I'll agree with you. As i always say: better to stand there and appear stupid, than open your mouth and remove all doubt..!
Ryanair get's a bad rap... I have full faith in their pilots!! I was on an aer lingus a321 landing in dublin recently in perfect conditions, but there was major floating ground effect once over the threshold, and when the pilot did get down about halfway down the runway he had to use the entire length of the runway to stop, slowing down in just enough time to take the last turnoff - the braking was so intense it was uncomfortable. I'm Irish, and proud of Ryanair!!
seems like the passengers have paid the "smooth-landing-fee"

Do you know the reasons why a pilot decides to go-around?
Unstable approach
Not cleared to land
Wind shear on final
Runway not clear/vacated
Other reasons why landing may be unsafe....
Firm landings are sometimes needed in order to land proper (water/slush on runway for example)
And btw RYR has a no-blaim policy regarding go-arounds.
