  • you are beautiful...

  • I am thinking about having the gatric sleeve surgery in July. I am going to use a Dr. in San Antonio. I weigh 215 so I am pretty close to the weight you were. I am only 5" 1" though and will be 52. I am having lots of knee problems and a hard time getting around. It seems like this is the way to go. I do need something to control my food addiction. Do you have any regrets as far as not being able to eat certain foods? I love Mexican food and that is a big part of my problem. Thanks for the video

  • thanks so much for the inspiration, i had my surgery on oct 4 2010 and today is march 06 2011, i have lost 50 pounds but i see a lot of excess skin, i started at 210 lbs and i am at 180 , i have noticed a lot of flacid skin due to the weight loss, what have you done to pass over that? for some reason i got stuck at 180 lbs and haven't been able to loose more weight. any idea? thanks veronica

  • Hi! So glad I found your vids..I had the sleeve done One week ago Thursday. Im doing pretty well...JUst now starting to not have the "gas" pains as much. Question...I have definately had the "sour stomach"...Ive been takin Zantac75 daily...you mentioned both Prilosec & Previcid, I believe. Do you feel one is better, or safer, than the others for daily use? Thanks again for vids..very helpful! (Ive already lost 18lbs!)

  • I just have to say, your videos have inspired me sooooo! I am scheduled for sleeve surgery on January 24, 2011. I am so thankful for the information you provided here and am curious how you are doing by now???

Thank you again for the wonderful documentation. I hope you are still well!!!

    Lisa

  • After getting the VSG can you get pregnant?

  • @Vakapuna02 Yes, you can get pregnant. It's recommended that you wait 18 months to to years after surgery.

  • I have really enjoyed your videos and have watched them several times as I'm having my surgery in 3 weeks. I too am having Dr. Alvarez. I'm hoping going by myself will be ok, as I don't have much support right now with my decision. Wish you would make another video showing your progress this far out. You are truly an inspiration for me and I'm setting my sites to do as well as you. Thanks for the videos! You're helping alot of people with your honest take on the surgery.

  • Hi you look great. I am in the starting process for the gastric sleeve surgery. My first doctors appointment is Sept. 2nd. Whatching and listening to your video has helped with the after surgery concerns. If you have any suggestions for me please let me know. katm0101@yahoo.com. This is my e-mail.

  • Hi, you look so beautiful! I am about 60lbs overweight, 5'3" 183lbs. Like you, my motiviation for looking into this is all of my family are overweight/obese. My sisters workout hard everyday for an hour, eat really good and are still definately NOT skinny, in fact, I would a little chunky. I understand about everything evolving around food. I don't abuse it, but I sure enjoy it and I assoicate it with a good event. I hope you enjoy art, and find other ways of fulfillment.

  • one drink a week. : ^) have two you will be happier!

  • Hello - amazing transformation... I have been researching & was hoping to hear how your Mom did with the surgery. Can you give us an update on how everyone's doing now?? I know you mentioned maintaining your wt. - have you been able to do that?? You are a beautiful girl - God bless!

  • I wanted to thank you for your video. I am eighteen years old and considering having this surgery. ive been overweight my entire life and cant remember a time when i wasent on a diet. Ive lost 80 pounds in the past but regained every pound. Im planning on having the surgery in august and have been taking a lot of vitamins (including biotin-becomes im scared of hair loss

  • Hi! I´m about to have my sleeve on next week.Well, i see you looking great! What could you tell me for the first days post op?

  • I have a video about post op a couple days after surgery that might be helpful. I guess just know that it will get a lot better and don't over do activity, let yourself heal

  • You two look really great! I'm SLOWLY following in your footsteps ;)

  • it has been amazing watching your incredible transformation over the last 8 months. you are such an inspiration and so kind to share all of this with us! best to you! :)

  • You look nothing short of fantastic! You and your brother turned me on to Dr. Alvarez, I was sleeved 2-1-10 and down 37lbs from pre pre-op diet. Glad to hear you are doing so well. Pass thanks to your bro as well. We would love to see another vid from him as well. Feels great to be sleeved, Thank You!

  • Thank you for continuing your updates. You look great!!

  • Glad to hear you doing great!

May I ask how tall are you?

    Peace

  • Hi there. I had my VSG on 12/17 and have lost 35# so far. It's been rocky as I've had alot of nausea and more throwing up episodes than I ever thought possible. But my doc says my experience is normal for the 1st 3 mos. so I'm hanging in there. I can't argue w/the results as the weight loss is very noticeable to everyone and my energy level has increased 350%! I appreciate you and your brother's posts very much, so thanks for continuing to share your progress & reflections. Take good care.

  • It will get better, The changes were very drastic for me as well, but you will figure out what you can and can't eat and also how much to swallow. Great news is you get used to it after awhile and start feeling a new "normal"

  • So good to see your update. I am now 2 weeks post-op today and I had to start taking Prilosec everyday since Saturday. I am not able to drink very much or it hurts so it's hard to get my fluid in. My Mother in-law and myself had the VSG with Dr. Alvarez on Jan 18th. Thank you for your video updates. I've learnt a lot!

  • Drinking gets a lot easier so hang in there. Also, take some of the pain medication or Ibuprofen. I remember my throat being really sore and dry. It took a while to feel better but eventually it was better.

  • Great to hear from you and good to hear you are doing so well! Wow, what a transformation! I enjoyed hearing your update after 8 months. How has the weight loss changed your life? Continued success!

  • The weight loss had changed my life in all the ways I hoped it would. I never lacked confidence but I can tell that people treat me differently. I am also excited about being a skinny mommy for my kids. 95% of everything has gotten better after surgery, It' been well worth it.
