A haunting opening sequence to begin their 2nd season with. I'm not sure, but I think this is the 1st time in tv history that a murder was committed in the presence of cops who were powerless to prevent it,or bring the killers to justice. A truly unforgettable scene.
This theme gets stuck in my head whenever I watch this episode. A friend of mine asked me how the characters can still care at that moment in the episode after all they've been through. My answer is that they haven't lost their compassion, which makes it possible to connect to them as good guys. Long live the era of real good guys.
I'm thinking of putting this on and making a one minute tune of this.

Excellent how they frames that last scene, just prior to the opening credits.
