My grandpa bought two Oliver 7800 combines with RWD 8 row corn heads and 30 foot cutting platforms both diesel in 1971. One caught fire in 1999 and the other he sold about 2 years ago to make room for a John Deere 9600 they were good combines covered alot of ground with them but you could never keep the tanks full on them!
@sornbergerfarms This old girl burns about 2 gallons to the mile,I put a big sediment bowl under the tanks cause if the original filter got a piece of chaff in it the engine would start bogging. These things were a fire trap, I always take the air hose and clean the engine and rad before starting, but you can still smell the dust toasting on the manifolds once in a while...
Steigers (of the Steiger tractor family) had three of the older Minneapolis Moline combines like that. Those had 318 Chrysler engines but still had the two straight pipes out the side. They covered a lot of acres with them. Their machines replaced three 105 John Deeres and in turn were replaced by three 760 Massey Ferguson combines. They had good luck with the Minneapolis Moline combines but then the Steigers could fix most anything.

Are there any other 7800s still alive out there? Oliver and Cockshutt made the same machine from 1968-72 then they amalgamated to the White brand

I don't know of any 7800's, but we have a 7600 and an 8800, I sold my 7300 last year...neat machines.
