  • OMG!!

i saw this today in Monterrey, México, is amazing!!!

  • Yo vi esta rueda hoy me encanto la ame es super wenial me quede asi O.o

THANK YOU FOR UPLODING THIS!! :D

THEY DIDN'T LET ME RECORD THIS :(

  • This was one of the coolest things at disneyland!!

  • what's the name of the song that's being played?

  • wow that is cool as shit only problem is i feel bad for the guy who has to fix it when the sound timing is off

  • Brilliant, a prime example of the modern animation mixed with the old. I came across this researching for my animation course, and it's such a wonderful sight to see, I wish I could see it in person!

  • Yeah this thing was amazing. When we walked in the room, it was off. Then it turned on and everybody in the room was mesmerized. It's so cool. Not only do they look animated it looks like the characters have actually come to life. I guess it's because it's an actual three dimensional piece in front of you.

  • This thing actually isn't a zoetrope but based on the electric tachyscope invented by Ottomar Anschütz in Germany that uses electric stroboscopic light instead of the slits in a revolving drum of the zoetrope. But people call all things like that zoetrope just so it sounds more American.

  • when i first saw this at DCA i thought it was like just a museum thing and since we went at night the lights just dimmed and my friend and i thought it was closing time

  • I saw this in London, it was awesome. I like the fact they used the origianl music with it, because it's great.

  • think of it like a small carousel that spins about 25 mph. there are characters posed in sequential stages of an action (such as Buzz bouncing on the ball) around the disc - so that each "pose" is much like a "frame" of animation.

  • (cont'd) once the disc starts spinning and gets to a certain speed, they turn on a strobe light, which is like taking mini pictures of each "pose" really quickly from the same point of reference (where you are standing, for instance). the light blinks fast and it sort of "mushes" all the poses together to look like a moving image - just how movie film works: a series of still images flashing by to create the illusion of actual movement.

  • the exhibition has finally reached australia! and i saw this today!! it's absolutely awesome! i want a pixar zoetrope! lol but tis true, we had ushers inside the exhibit, so no photographs for us!)=

  • you guys like to break rules in museums by recording and then wonder why the guards yell at you.
