  • one of the coolest blues players ever

  • This is just awesome!! makes me want to go buy some moonshine and get wasted till I cry

  • Unbeliveable guitar phrases, voice and rhythm in general! A true Delta Blues Star! : )

  • thia is a version of walkin blues....

  • @skankingrhythmics In your opinion, who does?

  • @skankingrhythmics ....what?

  • The title of this song is: "Fred's Worried Blues" - Chris Strachwitz (Arhoolie.com)

  • great photo, outstanding song, thanks for share!

  • this is somebody keeps calling me thats the riff at least not going down to the river or worried life blues...... so there

  • no it is definatley not the rif from worried life blues the tuning is even different

  • FRED MCDOWELL IS THE GREATEST BLUESPLAYER EVER. Sometimes he took the same melody or rhythm & inserted different lyrics, tones, to give variety in his songlist, also, to counterdupe, counterkipe the record industry and ensure more royalties on more songs, because those pigs have all

    chopping comin

  • one of my favourite bluesmen...I love how Fred alway give me thrills down my spine...he was unique...

    TY for sharing

    peace

  • Stunning!!! Makes my blood run cold he is just so good ,cant get enough of you Fred

thank you for passing this way

  • There is no such thing as too many blues posts, either videos or audio. Share whatever you have, for future generations.

  • Always interested in any Fred Mcdowell! Please post!

  • thats going down to the river

  • No, it's definitely not Goin' Down to the River.

Like I said in the info, the tune is from Fred's Worried Blues, but the lyrics are different.

  • @thefringthing he's played that tune a lot with varying lyrics-its on almost every cd i have, always with totally different lyrics. also, he'd sometimes sing the same lyrics to totally different tunes. after all, in old blues, there often were tunes floating about that the singer would just sing things to that are on his mind at this very moment-that's one great thing about old blues-the immediacy

  • If there's enough interest, I'll post other songs from the recordings I have.

  • vote tally is now at least 1...........i want more of anything fred

  • we will thank you so....; )

  • I don't think I have the whole long file anymore, but check the link in the description box.

  • thank you sir ; )

  • Please do! This is awesomely bleak and powerful - classic Mississippi Fred! Thanks for posting.

  • @thefringthing
