  • i first heard this song when i was a kid in the old mighty mouse cartoon when he was trying to save his girlfriend.

  • the lady in white movie soundrack!!!! this songs remind me my childhood

  • this is lovely .

  • This is really first-rate singing.

The Andrews Sisters, whose popularity began in the late 1930s and continued for more than 10 years, far exceeded the fame of either the Boswell Sisters or the Pickens Sisters - yet the southern accents of both the latter groups strongly influenced the Andrews Sisters, which they acknowledged.

  • nice to hear yet another sister act trying to be the Boswell Sisters. Not as sophisticated but they're pleasant, though.

  • @neworleansrandy - Dunno why, but I think Lawrence Welk had the Pickens Sisters in mind when he presented the Lennon Sisters. There is a languidity both acts.

  • boswell sisters why you dont try.........amazing

  • the pickens sisters im drake one of the pickens twins

  • A really novel approach by the sisters. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • just so eerily beautiful, unique, and gorgeous. Remarkable. Nothing compares. Sort of like the Comedian Harmonists?

  • thanks so wonderful love them . born too late

  • Pickens Sistewrs also recorded w/Whiteman's Orchestra (Cole Porter Medley, Victo12" 36000 series concert recording)

  • Hello 78Timothy: Your comment may have helped me find something I've been looking for, for years. Does the record have "You've Got That Thing" in the medley. It was a childhood favorite disc in the early 1940's. Could you would you post it PLEEZE! I'll add you to my subscriptions and be notified. Thanks

  • Great singing and I just love those photos! Great job.

  • I like this song. I first heard it in the movie lady in white, it was made in 1988. It drove me nuts because I didn't know the name before, and I couldn't find it.

  • its was in a older movie , cant re call name

  • so nice... thank you

  • Indeed, the Boswell Sisters had very pronounced New Orleans accents. If you listen closely they come across loud and clear. Perhaps because their material was so jazzy that the accents were somewhat harder to detect.

  • The Pickens Sister's sweet Georgia accents are an interesting contrast to the Boswell Sister's New Orleans accents as well as their eerie harmonies. Please post more of the Pickens!

  • This harmony is so sweet and eerie, I love it!

  • its so great Song im lovin this song since when im watch to film The Green Mile thats was a wonderful

  • Yea, the green mile was a great movie.

  • I can't find any cds or dvds of the Pickens Sisters! Can you post more! Can't get enough of it! :)

  • Lovely! So glad these girls are being remembered!

  • Love the b&w images, though I cannot name the locations--maybe London? Paris? NY? Bydgoszcz? All? Another favorite song from my college days ; ovbiously a revival from its 30's origins. (I'm not THAT old!)
