  • Just checking, but you stay on the D-chord the whole time right?

  • @JohnMartinAppState Thank you for your question. I am not in standard tuning. The guitar is tuned in open D minor (DADfad) from low to high. I hope this answers your question. Enjoy.

  • Do you go to church? If so, have you ever sang in the choir?

  • @healthnbeauty1 Thank you for your question. Yes, I go to Church, but I have never sung in the choir. In the future, I plan to do a series of instructional videos on How to Play Gospel Guitar. Happy New Year 2011. Keep Your Faith.

  • @KeniLeeBurgess

Why don't you?!!!!!!! I'm sure they'll like it!

  • @healthnbeauty1 Thank you for your encouragement and suggestion. There is so little time and so much to do. Enjoy.

  • Great slide guitar playing! I am debating learning how.

  • great

  • Thank you.

  • WoW..Praise God

  • Thank you. Keep the Faith. Happy Holidays! Enjoy.

  • I actually feel the despair.

I've got gooseflesh at the mere thought of some rich cracker setting his dogs on me because he owns me and he doesn't want me to be anything other than property.

  • Yes, some heavy stuff. Considering slavery was legally ended in 1865, we have come a long way as a country, but there is still a need for further change and understanding. It is scary to think that it took the passing of laws to change peoples view points about basic human rights. It is my hope that as citizens of the world, we don't continue getting caught up in the superfical, and learn to see clearly to the heart of the matter. Freedom for All. Happy Holidays and Better Days for 2009!

  • Citizens of the World. One people under God. I dig the sound of that.

It has a nice ring to it.

  • five stars and five to boot***** amen

  • Thank you.

  • Great. I think I've seen the light!

  • Thank you. Yes Brother, the Son shines on all God's children. Keep the Faith.

  • Real class KeniLee,love the edgy realism.Another relevant video and some great slide.Loving those extended old time slide sections.Hows the busking going and any new videos on the way from the station platform.THX

  • Thank you. I'm beginning to understand the power of mixed media. I spend time preparing the audio part, why not make the visual just as interesting. I had Windows movie maker for a while now, but just recently figured out how to use it. I haven't been busking too much lately. I've been more absorbed into my Tai Chi practice and teaching. The documentary is in production now. Hopefully, finished before Christmas. Enjoy.

  • Real nice Kenni .

  • Thank you.

  • Cool man.

  • Thank you.

  • Great playing my friend.

  • Thank you. How's the documentary looking?

  • Hi Ken. So far I have the footage digitized. I will begin cutting it this weekend. I will keep you posted on my progress as well as contact you for any detailed info. I am hoping to meet with you soon. Take care good buddy.

  • Sounds great! Really looking forward to it. Talk to you soon. Enjoy.

  • a work of art!

  • Thank you.

  • Wade in the Water, one of the most common slave songs and still a gospel standard.

That was great ! That was the blues !

The pics you selected harmonized wonderfull to your always good slideguitar work !

    I really enjoyed!!!

    Take care

By the way : I think the bluessingers in earlier days and many slaves were looking down from heaven with tears in there eyes, the day a black man became president of the USA ! Wow !!!

  • Thank you. Yes, it is a great moment in our country's history. It makes me very hopeful. It seems throughout our history as a country every ethnic race, in some way had or still has to continue to fight against suppression. The Native American Indian, African slave, Chinese railroad workers, Japanese internment camp prisoners, Irish immigrant... I hope we can continue to free ourselves of discrimination due to race, and truely become One Nation Under God. Freedom for All.

  • Great song great vid

Have to rate this as one of my favorites of yours. To me this is the essence of blues. Thanks Keni.

    Howe

  • Thank you. Yes, there certainly is a very strong link between early spiritual music and hard edge delta slide.

  • KenniLeeB.....it is wonderful, I live the black and white treatment,.....and imagery, really nice. Anyone baptised, especially in a lake or river, gets taken back to their day.

Blessings, and great vid! Sincerely, LaurieLeeC

  • Thank you for the nice comment. I'm glad it brought back good memories for you. Keep the Faith. Enjoy.

  • Excellent video! Very professionally done and great playing :-)

  • Thank you.

  • Wow Keni that was great and very spiritual, I really liked the images in your video very apt

  • Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed my production.

  • very good stuff my friend

  • Another great video. Thank you for all your videos and music, before I saw any of your videos I didn't think much of blues. Now I have grown to appreciate blues and the slide guitar. Great job.

  • Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. In my opinion, of all the styles of music that have been developed in the history of America, Blues has been the base for the creation of so many other styles. Blues...ragtime...jazz...rock&roll...funk... acid rock... There is something very fundamental about it, that makes Blues easy to enjoy.

  • Powerful stuff, my friend.

  • Thank you.
