Maybe Galvatron means mammoth as an figurative noun, meaning "something giant for its kind" as opposed to the literal noun of being like a mammoth.
While I'm here, are the Predacons techno-organic? This scene suggests that they are, yet I've seen literally nothing on tfwiki's page for Techno-Organic to mention Robots in Disguise at all, let alone whether or not the Predacons were techno-organic.
@PunchSydeironReviews Not from what I've seen or what appears in the cartoon. The series with techno-organic forms make deliberate note of the fact that they're "different". It appears that as far as RID is concerned, they're no different than the G1 Predacons were from the G1 Decepticons.
@PunchSydeironReviews All of the predacons that were in the show (excluding megatron) were based off of beast wars transmetals 2 molds, which had the whole techno-organic thing as the line's gimmick.
@DarkdustDragon No, I solved that with the theory that "mammoth" is a figurative noun so that "Iron Mammoth" literally translates into "Mammoth Iron." Sure, it's weird and a but dumb, but at least it explains the name. It's a shame that RID did kind of a lousy job with names for some of the transformers and their attacks (except for Ruination, which may be the best Decepticon name ever made.)
@PunchSydeironReviews I think you're confusing "solved" with "offered a possible explanation for". Sadly, Occam's Razor says that mistranslation or bad scripting is a better answer, since we know they did that. As for names in General, they were hit-and-miss; Scourge is a pretty good name, as are Rail Racer and Landfill.
@nalops Exactly. The ears/wings are back in their wing position, not their ear position, not to mention trunks don't have moving mouths at the end of them. In this form, he's using the trunk as a neck, and the end of the trunk as the griffin head, complete with eyes and mouth.
He looks more like a dragon than a griffin to me, albeit one with a single head instead of two like before

@PunchSydeironReviews The only problem with that theory is that "Iron Mammoth" is the actual name for one of his modes.

Why did he say iron mammoth if he's a griffin?
eshaw2115 6 months ago
@eshaw2115 Because it's RID. The only animated series WORSE than the live action movies.

ummmmmm iron mammoth form WTF
nalops 1 year ago
@nalops the head he talks through is the trunk and the wings are the ears
Animelover7ful 10 months ago
@Animelover7ful but, he doesn't have the tusks here, like his real mammoth form. he's actually a one-headed dragon, or a griffin, but not a mammoth.

@AeonMagnus so that would mean it's a mistake on the dubbing team's part?

@nalops Certainly seems that way.
