Im confused did she just get saved? because she was on american idol and im sure she was not saved during then does anybody know her testimony? how do you go from american idol to talking about Jesus and gospel music?
@Rhantismos23 she was a christian even during the participation at american idol. she actually sang there mary mary's song: shackles, which is a christian song. and from the joy i see on her face, her actions and her words, i think she truly is a christian, not just by name

@Rhantismos23 don't rush to judge someone just because it doesn't feat your rules. so many people in the bible were "famous" (if we can call it that): job, abraham etc. if she went there only for gaining that fame i too think it's wrong. but what if she went there because she simply loves to sing and she wanted people to know her and then to listen to her christian music, what if she went there to take jesus there, to be a light in the darkness? not everyone thinks the same way.
@emmaela91 My rule is sound biblical interpretation, She did not go to american idol to be a light in the darkness since you can not participate in darkness and expect to be the light hence why Jesus nor any of the disciples participated in the pagan festivals and expect to be the light in the darkness.

It's sad to say that not even Katy Perry's original name withstood her firey test through stardom as even that was changed to Katy Perry.
