Its not good right now, but it has its moments.

I was at MSG when Hogan defeated the Iron Sheik and I was at Skydome for the wrestlemania when he lost to the Ultimate Clown. I think that in that time period Hogan though not a Dory Funk Jr. did some of his best wrestling.
Seems to me all the people who talk smack about the Hulk only saw him in WCW 20 years into abusing his body in wrestling (and with steroids). From 79-93 the man moved very well for a 6'7" 300-320 pounder. And not "just in Japan" as all the smarks like to say. His AWA work with Bockwinkle as well as his WWF work with the likes of Valentine, Muraco, Bob Orton, Orndorf, Savage & others was superb.

Actually IdTheDestroyer. Hogan's Japanese finisher was the "Ax Bomber" which was the running clothesline into the ropes. He used it when with New Japan back from 1981 to 1984. Since he hadn't wrestled in Japan since 1984, he wanted to use his Japanese finisher on Hansen, he wasn't copying the Western Lariat.
It's Amazing that Hogan goes overseas and has his one and only 5* match! Thank God Hansen has the ability to make anyone look good. Hogan turned his game up here much like he did when he wrestled grat Muta!
True. Much like Cena, Hogan wrestled close to his gimmick (a big power move kinda guy) I give Hogan his credit but he did need a strong opponent to work with. Muta, Hansen And Tenryu to name a few.
This was actually for a promotion called SWS that ran for a while in the early 90s. In the few matches from Japan that I've seen Hogan in it's like he's a different wrestler. Stiffer, faster, and he does more technical mat wrestling (see Hogan vs. Akira Maeda).

It's a shame Hogan never had matchs like this when was WWF Champ in the 80's. Vince wanted to maintain that cartoon image, so we never saw Hogan do anything beyond punch, body slam and leg drop.
I'm pretty sure Vince DID have the balls to make this match. Notice all of the WWF logos all over the ring. Not to mention that Earl Hebner is the referee.

Agreed, although, while some of his matches in the US sucked, his rep for bad wrestling was overblown to begin with..people need to watch someone like The Warlord-----a walking syringe, and a bad match waiting to happen..

I was at MSG when Hogan defeated the Iron Sheik and I was at Skydome for the wrestlemania when he lost to the Ultimate Clown. I think that in that time period Hogan though not a Dory Funk Jr. did some of his best wrestling.

Seems to me all the people who talk smack about the Hulk only saw him in WCW 20 years into abusing his body in wrestling (and with steroids). From 79-93 the man moved very well for a 6'7" 300-320 pounder. And not "just in Japan" as all the smarks like to say. His AWA work with Bockwinkle as well as his WWF work with the likes of Valentine, Muraco, Bob Orton, Orndorf, Savage & others was superb.

The general idea to that was, he used Stan Hansen's finisher, the Western Lariat, to beat him. It wasn't supposed to be a finish from just a clothesline. In context it worked

Actually IdTheDestroyer. Hogan's Japanese finisher was the "Ax Bomber" which was the running clothesline into the ropes. He used it when with New Japan back from 1981 to 1984. Since he hadn't wrestled in Japan since 1984, he wanted to use his Japanese finisher on Hansen, he wasn't copying the Western Lariat.

It's Amazing that Hogan goes overseas and has his one and only 5* match! Thank God Hansen has the ability to make anyone look good. Hogan turned his game up here much like he did when he wrestled grat Muta!

True. Much like Cena, Hogan wrestled close to his gimmick (a big power move kinda guy) I give Hogan his credit but he did need a strong opponent to work with. Muta, Hansen And Tenryu to name a few.

This was actually for a promotion called SWS that ran for a while in the early 90s. In the few matches from Japan that I've seen Hogan in it's like he's a different wrestler. Stiffer, faster, and he does more technical mat wrestling (see Hogan vs. Akira Maeda).

Im not explaining myself to well. This was what was known as a collliseum video exclusive back in the day. Makikng it genuinly a lost treasured match.The fact that it took place at the Tokyo Dome in Japan in 1989 and not in America our Europe is because if Stan decided to shoot on Hogan and not sell his moves and turn Hogan heel not that many people in the western world would of seen it leaving Hogan still number1 babyface
