I just moved to Canada from the U.S. and it sucks. Everything is over-priced, including food. Housing costs are astonomical. Universal health care is a joke, you end up waiting months or even a year or more for a doctor's appointment. Prescription drugs cost MORE than they do in the U.S.A. Canadians are complacent and put up with all this stuff; no one has any moxie or nerve.
I think Canadians are just very, very, very insecure about their nationality (on a subconscious level, more often than not) and about the superpower the United States, right next door. And to prove it, there are so many videos trying to promote Canada's "superiority" over the US with all thumbs up. The US itself and the international community, are confident the nation as global power - that's why pro- American/ anti- Canadian videos are rare or spammed with dislikes (probably from Canadians).

@jrw4998 First of all, I'm not American :D 2nd actually There were more German immigrating to America than Irishs, it was about 6 million Irishs, and 7 million Germans. Why doesn't the America of today speak German? Very simple, in WWI and WWII people of German heritage were considered spies of the Nazi Regime, and just evil so therefore in many States of America and in many Provinces in Canada as well, Germans were put into prisinor camps. @jrw4998 Many States even passed laws that were forbiding to speak German, and with that many city names and so on changed: the frankfurter became the hot dog, Brennball became Baseball, Korbball became Basketball and so on and so forth. Many German-Americans didn't want to get in trouble so they changed their names 'americanized' them, and were discontinueing to speak German: Schneider became Taylor, Schmidt became Smith etc. by the WW2 ended, and the laws were disestablished it was too late.

Before WW1 you could be pretty much anywhere in the US, especially the Midwest, and states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, and even New York had a little Germany, or German town as well, just like today there is little Italy. You literally didn't need any English there - there was even Newspapers written in German by that time... Question answered?
