@hoby52 All I can say: it's not permanent. If you don't like it, take it out. If I took mine out now after years of having them in, I'd have a little scar. But nothing major. If you took them out a month after, you won't see any marks after another couple of months.

Yeah snakebites dun hurt much. I hardly felt the first piercing and the 2nd piercing was jus a lil prickly, kinda cringed lol. Anw, I gt my snakebites lik 2 days ago. Aftercare is a huge pain in the ass though. And worse thing is eating. Life's greatest enjoyment is nw f-ed up becoz they put in long labrets in case they swell. Keep biting on them when eating..Even considered taking it out a few times but they cost me 100USD afta tippin. And they look sooo good. So lil pain,bt lotsa trouble!

It would depend on your threshold of pain and the person piercing you. If the person is well trained, it will make the experience a good one. I guess it's a little difficult to gauge pain threshold, but in context, my tongue piercing hurt MUCH more than the snakebites, and my nipple piercing hurt the MOST, my God! I was laying down while the girl pierced my nipples and had to kick my leg in the air everytime the needle went through! hahaha

@Mooyouhooka It has to heal around your piercing as well.. It's basically a puncture through your lip. The initial piercing was almost painless for me, and it only took 0.1 seconds for the needle to go through. You won't have any time to even think about pain. The aftercare is worse, it'll be sore, swollen and red. But it's nothing you can't handle. Just take care of it well, and it should heal within 3-4 months and then you can get the jewellery changed.

@Mooyouhooka Listen to your piercer for aftercare, they should let you know. But really, just get them done. There will always be a choice if you wanna take them out later if you aren't satisfied. It won't leave a horrible scar or anything. And you also gotta research all the possible complications of a lip piercing. Your piercer should go through that with you too.

I think the needle is a little thicker than the needles to draw blood, but seriously, the initial sensation of the needle piercing the skin overrides the entire needle going through to the other side. I would say its like a real 'sharp' ant bite. The sharp sting lasts for a split second!! The andrenalin/excitement took over the pain after the needle went through. By the sounds of your steroid injection, the piercing would be way less painful! I remember the tentanus shot being soooo painful!

If you ever had a real sharp ant bite that stung, just imagine that same feeling, but lasting a split second, which is the amount of time for the needle to pierce through. Or imagine a blood test needle, but a little more 'sting' to it, as the needle is a tiny bit thicker. A tetanus shot is way more painful in my opinion. Just need to really good with cleaning the piercing and cold salt water rinses everyday and after you eat for at least a week. Having ice cubes works a treat too!!

Tongue, both nipples, labret pierced three times, had two eyebrows piercings (but took them out as they never healed properly), and pierced my ears twice with a sewing needle and piercing stud, hehe. I remember I could hear the stud crunching in through the tissue in the ear lobe. LOL My new thing, well, no so new now is getting my freakin tattoo sleeve finished but seems to be a never ending thing! Thanks for watching =)

No not really. I guess it depends from person to person. But I would say its the same as getting a blood test needle, but in your lip! VERY sharp and QUICK jab with the needle and it's all done. Just need to keep up with the after care, otherwise it will cause you more pain. Just have heaps of small ice cubes, and salt water in the fridge, and ALWAYS wash the piercing everyday and after eating.

It depends from person to person. I always say it's like a blood test needle in your arm. If you can take a blood test without any dramas, the lip piercing will be easy. It's REAL quick and SHARP sensation. They don't numb the lip, but it's pierced before you can blink your eye. After care is the most important factor. If you don't cleanse the area sufficiently during the next 7 + days, it will get infected and just swell and cause pain! Use plenty of Ice cubes, salt water, and icy water!!

States have different laws regarding age so it depends on where you are but no, 14 is not the legal age all across America. It is illegal for shops to pierce anyone under 18 without parent/guardian consent here in CA but I don't know where you are.

Hey jaded :) Thanks for the compliment.

I use 3 things: Schwarzkopf Glue, Treseme Extra strong hair spray (with humidity control), and Power Jelly Gel. I think the gel is made by Wella.

It gets humid in QLD, so I found the Treseme spray with humdity control REAL strong! When I'm feeling poor, I use ALDI hair spray, ($2.50 a can!) LOL, and not too bad either.

Also I use the hair dryer between each application of hair product to harden it all.

Barely, if you are not looking for them then it tend to be difficult.

If you are going to get them then why bother taking them out? Especially thanks to human bodies being so different that if say I was to take mine out it would took half the day for the holes to be healed to the point that I need to get them re-done.

But I do know a girl that can have her lip stud out for a good week and put it back in easily.

Cos I've had mine in for good couple years, u can see the holes. Especially when u smile. I can leave them out for a a week and put them back in. I do notice the hole closes slightly, but nothing major like getting it re-pierced.

I guess it was mainly due to obviously being pierced (!!!) then fingers in my mouth! But seriousy was a-o-k! The initial feeling of the needle going thru wasn't too bad.
