OMG Outlaw is just adorable. I LOVE your videos! It is so wonderful to see how much you guys love him. I wish all raccoon owners were as loving and kind as you guys.

I would love to give Outlaw a big kiss and hug! Actually my cat reminds me of a raccoon a bit. He is big and fluffy with a bushy tail. You gotta love animals, they are the best!

Sorry haven't answered sooner, haven't been here. Outlaw probably weighs about 35 pounds right now! Time for Spring Training! He will get much more exercise now that the snow has melted. :)

We raised one from an infant. What great pets they are. named ours Twiggy. She would steal my baby's bottle and lie down with it and nurse. We gave her lots of protein. She got up to about 40 pounds.

Wooooo, this Raccoon is seriously FAT. I mean, its kinda mean! For its health, i am glad you are putting it on a diet! But its super cute xD

Yeah, I know he's fat! The raccoons around here can get up to 50lbs! Outlaw weighs 22 lbs right now. His weight changes through the year. In the fall their instinct is to eat as much food as possible to get ready to hibernate. Outlaw doesn't hibernate, but he has that food frenzy instinct so he gets fatter in the fall. :(

North American raccoons weights fluctuate throughout the year. A lot of raccoon owners have a hard time getting their coons back down to normal size during the spring because tame raccoons don't hibernate.

Raccoons don't hibernate at all, though they may sleep for several days at a time in cold winter weather and become active on warmer nights.

I just said hibernate because torpor isn't part of most people's vocabulary. But torpor is really what most people think of when they think "hibernate". Like bears. Ask anyone in the world what bears do every winter and they will say hibernate. Of course, their sleep cycle during winter is identical to that of raccoons.

He sleeps a lot of the time. He's really active in the morning until about noon then he sleeps until around 5.  He does sleep at night because he lives in the house with us and he's adapted to our schedule.

Yeah, he's a pretty fat boy! He's even got big 'ol "coon boobies!" We had him neutered, I think that's what made him fat. He can still be VERY wild and naughty though!
