@drhealth I already know my subject well. The supreme court has held that the income tax is legal. Nobody has ever been able to bring a case against it. The national debt is too high and the interest on it is a big fraction of what the taxes must pay but that is like paying for the mortgage on a house. The money was spent in the past. We now need to pay down the debt.

So now we are making our homes disappear because we are taxing our spending..

I know someone that tried to get the bank to accept a short sale on a home. The home had been purchased for $265,000 2 years prior. They paid $60,000 down payment. They tried t get the bank to accept a short sell for $165,000. The bank said no. Two weeks later the bank sold the house for $115,000 to an investment company. The investment company is tied to the bank. So the banks are screwing people by taking the homes and selling to their friends.

Some blocked foreclosure included people who owned their homes outright having the deed in their hands but the banks were trying to foreclose anyway. Grayson spotted corruption adn is stopping it. @drhealth I already know my subject well. The supreme court has held that the income tax is legal. Nobody has ever been able to bring a case against it. The national debt is too high and the interest on it is a big fraction of what the taxes must pay but that is like paying for the mortgage on a house. The money was spent in the past. We now need to pay down the debt.
You have the sort of combination of ignorance and certainty that's common among those who don't understand the problem.

Then look at ANY mortgage, you will see that the banks require payment in "LAWFUL MONEY" Federal reserve notes can NOT embrace lawful money. Federal notes are notes of debt, (obligations of the US) therefore we are adding to a debt, not subtracting.

People need to be seeing that they are paying for stuff and looking at what they get for the money. There is no method of funding a government that doesn't come down to taxing either directly or indirectly. If you look at the Eisenhower era tax rates, you can see.

Suppose the tax for spending was 10% (sales tax here) then if 100 dollars is circulated in the economy, it will disappear on the 10th circulation. Now supposedly we create money from our signatures, usually upon loans from banks. In the 10th circulation of the "money loaned on our real estate" the "money" will disappear. So now we are making our homes disappear because we are taxing our spending..

It is still in the economy it just means that some of it is used to support actions that we as a society believe need to be done collectively such as paving the roads. The guy who paves the roads doesn't just take the money and fly to Mars with it. He spends it to feed his family etc.

If Alan Grayson really wanted to help people that are subject to foreclosure he would simply sponsor a bill that would force banks or other owners of the loans to put a moratorium for 2 years on the escalation terms on all home mortgage loans. This wouldn't help everyone, but it would help many. By not doing this it sounds like he is just playing politics.

I know someone that tried to get the bank to accept a short sale on a home. The home had been purchased for $265,000 2 years prior. They paid $60,000 down payment. They tried t get the bank to accept a short sell for $165,000. The bank said no. Two weeks later the bank sold the house for $115,000 to an investment company. The investment company is tied to the bank. So the banks are screwing people by taking the homes and selling to their friends.
