just amazing - you forget that its an acoustic recording. I swear that the quality of recording from edison was superior over many of the other companies. just fantastic :)
Great! I have the same song, but different arrangement and orchestra, if you want you can visit my channel to see it, congratulations, your Edison Diamond disc machine is beautiful.
I love it, I have a phonograph identical to this one, I just did'nt know till yesterday that you can only play certain records on it. Thank God I played it a couple of times so far.
Sounds and looks great! Handy website you have too. I was searched for "Edison Diamond Disc" on Google to figure out why not play them anywhere... I came across your website and now I know! Thanks! Very nice machine you have. :)
The C-200 is relatively rare. I have seen values as high as $600 for the mahagony cabinet and $800 for the oak cabinet. Mine is oak. I only paid $225 for mine 4 years ago in a country mom & pop antique store.
Oh k thats about what i was thinking , mine is also oak and it had about 25 records in the bottom drawer, well maybe ill hang onto it for a while maybe 40 years down the road it will be worth alot more :)
I forgot to say that mine came with a few records. The thing is, the value of these phonographs is very subjective. They're worth only what buyers are willing to pay for them and what sellers think they're worth. Yeah, hang on to it and enjoy it!
thats great you were very helpfull so far. this house and garage i bought 8 years ago was loaded with stuff ( most stuff in the attic of the house) only later did i realize how valuable sum of these things were its almost like finding buried treasure
Phil, That's a great side!!!! As Rocky said-the BDO always rises to the challenge! The C-200 is beautiful in oak! The grille looks like a perfect match finish-wise. Thanks for sharing this.
I really didn't have to do anything with the machine but clean it up after I bought it. I found it in an antique store on the Iowa/Minnesota border. It's rare to find a C-200 in oak.
I had Steve Medved rebuild the reproducer, so my next video should sound even better.
Phil, John agrees that "Steve Medved is wonderful." It really is a nice find, and hopefully you got a good deal on it. I look forward to hearing it with the rebuilt reproducer. We're going to work on getting a few more of his videos up now, so look forward to them. ;) — MordEth
I like the deep colors and the imaginative grille design. And the turntable felt is a bright orange color.....Halloween is right around the corner! Good song! This must be one of the few versions that I hadn't heard, and the Broadway Dance Orchestra always lives up to my expectations. Rocky
Thanks. The Adam style of the C-200 looks great in oak. The machine was absolutely filthy when I found it, but cleaned up nicely. The grill is a reproduction from Matt Brown. The C-200 either had this style or an urn style. You can never go wrong with the Broadway Dance Orchestra.

This is so cool! We have a C250 in our family completely in tact and with about 50 records. I would love to play it some time :)

When you do, make a video, put it on YouTube and drop me a line.

Wow, love this tune. The Shiek! God these machines play along time.

@MARINEMEAT Thanks. They will probably be playing long after I am gone. Can we say the same for CD players?

Very nice! I have one just like it, but the finish on the cabinet is not so good.

What a beautiful C-200! It looks and sounds fantastic!
How could they even consider a Red Star for the Broadway Dance Orchestra?

Not only this is a stylish cabinet, it also sounds great!

Thank you. I find it to be more stylish than the Edison C-250. The No. 200 horn is more than adequate for me.

Phil, you should; this disc sounds excellent, and it's a lovely machine. Even after 90+ years, it still sounds great! — MordEth
