I did notice a rather large change in FPS with the Lighting mob with out postprosessing and alot more darker and in some scenes it almost impossible to see so ill be passing on this mod :)
If you all have issues with the night, I use the Torch of Everlasting mod. Makes torches never die, so you can use them all night, all the time when journey-ing. I really love the light mod, even though it gets really dark, it feels so much more real, than a cartoon-ish game.
I love your PC. Mine can't run that thing. But, by the way, the general lighting is very great, but when the night comes, we don't see anything. This could ruin the game's experience....
why the fuck didnt you put YOUR OWN PERSONAL MODS into the fucking folder seeing as you are showing the mod off while having a dozen other mods making it look better
@SirCrest Don't be sorry, lol. Your mod is dope. Obviously, bloodsucker there is living up to his name, and clearly out of his mind if he's playing Skyrim on PC and doesn't know about the nexus, lol.
As I replied to the author, I did this with and without the mod and got my FPS numbers from the same section of the scene along with Fraps and DXtory taking values. If by design there is no FPS difference, then I'm not sure what the problem is. I tried to keep things consistent.
@SirCrest you are probably using shadows on ultra? 4096 resolution? could be one of the issues, specially on interior scenes they lag alot more than 2048 rez.
The other could be one of your other mods, say 2k textures, or an accumulated of mods that substantially increase texture size and will sometimes chew thru all your available VRAM, resulting in such the large drop in the same exact place.
You have a scene with like 30 fps loss, that can't be, mod would come out straight away.
@Tripnotik25 The only thing I can think of is that the numbers I had were from a week before, and I didn't benchmark right before installing the mod. I wish I did.
Also as for Vram, I'm runnind 3GB video cards, 3GB per GPU, so if it's anything vram related it would be bandwidth, but I don't think so.
Yea i noticed your rig. It is unlikely, but i seen people talking about 30 FPS running I7s and 590s. Tons of people actually, thru out the forums with high end systems and still feeling the weight of the games aged engine.
Anyway, just lookin to make it clear to whoever sees it, that the mod works fine and there is virtually no FPS strains attached. Just so they don't diss the mod thinking its gonna chew 30 fps off of their performance =)
@Esthin correct. It doesn't alter a thing, nor does it saturate the colors like all the others do which IMO is awesome in every way possible. Saturation during the day can be nice with all the green more lively fancy stuff, but at night, well your nights just turn straight up blue.
And i have not yet installed the patch, but curious myself. Its better than skyboost? and is it official yet and not just a beta?
@Coollok100 I have this mod merged with my FXAA Injector settings, and i can assure you that there's a very little/to no FPS loss. And i'm pretty sure i got lower PC specs than him.
@Coollok100 personally i tested this mod aswell and it didn't make a dent.
Benchmarked full game intro with fraps with all mods on in vanilla vs realistic vs FXAA injector. Not 1 fps gone, so much so that i put it in with a bunch of mods that don't hit your FPS.
here: watch?v=oS1MssllpC4
Vanilla and this, 39 fps average on it (low end PC). Also some screenshots from "difficult" locations, same fps. With FXAA injector was about 3 fps loss just by using tonemap and technicolor.
You guys think if I did lots of graphics overhauls and use these specific scenes it wouldn't feel cheap? I just don't think I can get new scenes for each video.
Thanks for doing these SirCrest. I use this mod but it's nice to see the side by side comparison as during play it's easy to forget what it used to look like.
I see you're using TESV Acceleration Layer, but i've found that Skyboost(which is based of TESVAL) gives an even greater fps increase, it may be worth a try.
I like this better for gaming purposes, the other night time was almost like looking at a picture of the night sky, without even being in the game, and more FPS hit.
I actually had this mod and got rid of it. It looks amazing outside and in cities (Whiterun looks great), but in some dungeons and caves you can't see anything. It becomes a problem.
@coronaboreal Well, yeah that is an option. But all the switching would be a bother, even if I favorite it. Great mod, nonetheless. Just saying from my experience, I've had some dungeons where I could not see a thing..
@Brian2one0 Indeed, I really liked this mod as I was working with it, and for most things almost no noticable performance hit. It's not an ENB either, just a simple .esp
It's gone from NExus.

@Tripnotik25 New patch fixes it anyway :D
I used to drop to around 40 in Solitude running i5 2500k and a 560Ti but now I get constant 60.
I confirm this mod doesnt have any performance impact since it doesn't really add anything, just alters.

@Tripnotik25 Much better than Skyboost, and its official now.
I think they worked with the guy who made Skyboost and integrated their own new performance fixes into it so its like a double effect.

@Esthin cool, ty for that info. Will get it ASAP.
Feck knows i could use a few more fps in that game ^^
