  • Tiny beat of olive oil - my fav =)

  • A word of warning - it's quite likely that it will take you more than 30 minutes, at least the first time. Therefore - fry your steak later on, otherwise it will be left sitting for way too long. If you're in no hurry, I'd say get everything ready first and do the meat last.

  • @hendz175 Makes you imagine they're holding your ball-sack and that way drawing away the attention from what he says. Simple trick chefs use to make themselves sound wise without saying anything important.

  • buy portuguese olive oil, its cheap and probably the best in the world. go for 0.2% and you will LOVE IT.

  • Cooking time of a pork fillet is about 15 minutes...I don't want to talk about beef, it's obviously more. I'm just a commis, and i like Jamie...but believe me..U can't do that under 30 minutes...Not even with the power of olive oil :D

  • @taronju Im sure the beef is at medium rare. You get steaks well done at around 20-25mins

  • Or, instead of wine in the gravy, you can use beef stock. Because not all of us like the taste of wine in sauces. My mouth is watering at everything else though. Can't wait until they invent smell-o-vision. :):):)

  • A bit of common sense would tell you that those potatos would be dry, the yorkshire  puddings would be hollow and that salad was never finished..!

    Despite all that however, Jamie always manages to make it all look beautiful ;)

  • @wls2948 depends how you like it, you can always cook it for a bit longer in the oven for well done.

  • @wls2948 Yep, cooking it all the way through will just make it tough, dry and boring. Leaving the raw core keeps it juicy.

  • certainly looks good. Begs the question why one would bother doing it the "long way". Also, over here in Germany where I'm currently hanging out a fillet of beef that size is extremely expensive.

  • @trident3b In Canada, I'll be paying probably a good $15-20 for a fillet that size.

    Recipe is wonderful though but for my size kitchen I'd be in there 2-3 hours like that person said. I love his kitchen though; very rustic and down to earth.
