  • LOL And things went on that way for the Vikings until the late 1980's!

  • The Waltons.....tv doesn't come any chessier than that.

  • Trivia Question: Who's doing the voiceovers during the commercials?

    Answer: Warren Nelson.

  • I do believe that is Warren Martin doing the voiceover.

  • haha the only thing that survived the '80s was Haskells

  • Yep I remember John Bachman as a kid when he worked at WMT(now KGAN) in Cedar Rapids in teh 1970's. John is at WHO TV still here in Des Moines.

  • Even though he screwed up the AFC Playoff Promo by saying it looks it will be Denver in the playoffs despite announcing earlier that San Diego was beating Oakland 21-10; and Denver would be out with a Raiders loss He is a good sportscaster; He gives you the score; not trivial BS

    Nice to see fans run on the field after a Vikings Loss in final game at the Met;

I miss the days when fans stormed the field after MLB or NFL Games

  • I believe that Chargers victory over Oakland was what got them into that 50 below zero game at Cincinnati. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Miami playoff game was the one with the sweet hook and ladder play, no? Thanks for the nostalgia!

  • Nice to see my Cousin Tom announcing sports. He was the best and still is. Love ya Tom.

    Rosie Ryther King

  • maybe they are a poor franchise, but we stick by our team through thick and THIN, unlike bandwagon Packer fans.

  • Huh? Just a few years ago games at the Dome were being blacked out due to lack of ticket sales. Vikings fans are know for being fairweather. Lambeau on the other hand sells out every single game. Has for years.

  • THat's bullshit the Vikings have sold out every game

  • Because G.B. is the only game in town, they are entertainment starved.

  • Ron Yary played his last game as a Viking that season, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams that offseason.

  • The Vikings would play at the Metrodome beginning in the Fall of 82. Am I right?

  • Yes. The Twins began their 1982 season in the Metrodome.

While the interior was being worked on the Metrodome collapsed under the very first snowstorm that hit it, October 10, 1981.

It's been nothing but bad luck.
