all you dicks complaining about the direction of this dudes EMPTY firearm muzzle are ghey as fuck. tryin to make it look like you know what your doing behind the trigger when all your really doing is either getting this dude fired, or a bunch of shit at work.
That's unbelieveable. It doesn't matter if it is 'unloaded' and/or even disassembled. During a large portion of the video, he's pointing the muzzle at the interviewer's head and body, and his finger is on the trigger. It's poor, no, sloppy form; it's a way that bad habits are developed. Equally important, it displays to new shooters that this is acceptable handling of a firearm. It is not.
@UncleLoodis wow disassembled really? Should you always be safe? absolutely. A disassembled weapon is just pieces of metal. Also the only time i saw his finger on the trigger was when it was disassembled, which needs to happen to take a Glock apart. And i also don't think that new shooters would look at this guy and say "oh well i guess i can point my gun at people now" you are being silly.
@USMCFISCELLA I just think it's poor form. Sure, when it's disassembled, it's safe...it's just poor form; it's how bad habits are developed. But there are also times when it is assembled that he's pointing it in an unsafe direction. This is just my opinion. I'm not trying to be silly. I'm just saying that it was not a good example of how to handle a handgun, IMHO.
@UncleLoodis Oh you are definitely right poor form yes. He should not be pointing at this guys head but i am sure that it was properly cleared prior to the interview.
@reesie0414 umm thats why whenever you pick up a weapon you always check it. You can "what if" anything for eternity. Also i have yet to hear of someone "palming" a round into a gun show to cause mayhem. Kind of silly don't u think?
For those who say that he is allowed to do whatever he wishes as he knows more about firearms than we do and that the gun is not loaded and that it does note even have the firing pin, well... I am sorry by all manners he should be a professional at all times as we look forward to become like him one day, therefore he should always follow the rules no matter what
for whoever says how he should watch his muzzle your an annoyance cause that thing is not even loaded and the firing pin isnt even in it. and i bet he has more firearm knowledge then any of you
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. I would sharply tell him to point the gun down, and if he didn't I would point the gun down for him. It was as if he had never held a gun before in his life.
in reality, its a showroom gun without a firing pin. yeah i know always treat a gun like its loaded, but, these are showroom guns. they were built out of the factory to not be fired.
@simpleman601 Dude, they have hundreds of guns on display everywhere for anyone to pick up and point in any direction.. its really not that big of a deal, im sure they are all saf and they know it.
My 21 fits good in my hand while my wife's 19 is 2 sizes too small... different backstraps gives the single gun several sizes allowing the gun to better fit the users hand.
Worked with the P99, worked with the XD(m)... hell... works with my MIAD's on AR's!
Glad to see the new Glocks taking on that feature.
They are doing it because Glock owners have screamed for it for a while and then Smith came and started kicking their butts with the M&P with the interchangable backstraps. Losing Police Departments left and right to Smith..
I fondled the Gen 4 and basically thought ''so what''. Of course I thought there was nothing wrong with the Gen 3 glocks. I like the more aggressive grip much more than the stupid back strap.
Why do you think guns tend to get cracks in the frame? That´s right... because the dumbass owner didn´t change a 10 dollar spring on his 500 dollar gun.
Not changing the recoilspring in time has to be the most common "user error" there is.
It cost´s less than a decent meal, what´s the problem?
Compare the price of a recoilspring to the price of a new frame.... kinda makes sense to switch it for a new one once or twice a year doesn´t it?
Even 5K rounds on the same spring is way too much.
If you can only put 5k rounds on that springs then that thing is a piece of shit. Hope that he is wrong about that especially coming from glock. You should only have to replace a spring once as a civilian. Think I would have to order three replacment springs for it.
agreed. i can put 5,000 rounds through my Glocks in less than a year. I think he was making either a) a conservative estimate or b) he didn't really know what he was talking about.
Gad, GLOCK could have done a MUCH better job on the Gen 4's... let's hope someone offers backstraps that reduce the hump on the grip... and a recoil spring good for only 5,000-rounds? Still? I thought this was an improvement? ;)
Like I said if you are going to complain about the gun get a different gun. Personally I love the grip as does THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. There is no reason to change it.
When I am at a gun store and the person behind the counter is showing me a gun, he always uses proper gun safety. Even when I am showing one of my guns to a friend or family I use proper gun safety and correct them politely if they are being unsafe with the gun. You can show off a gun while using proper gun safety.
5,000 rounds? lol i have a gen 3 with over 40,000 rounds through it in the past two years with a factory spring

just 5000 shots with new dual springs?
isn't 80's Glock17 did hundred of thousands
before spring Fleur???
Prowler1 2 years ago
@Prowler1
5000 rounds to factory reps equals 50,000 rounds in the real world.
Spring fatigue in both springs would start to be noticeable after 20,000... same with H&K USP's and guns with the Sprinco system in it.
If you can afford 20,000 rounds of ammo... you can afford a $50 replacement spring.
ericx777 2 years ago
@ ericx777
wasn't referring to cost, but to durability. still not explained it for me completely.

Ive got 12,000 on my M&P 45 and the spring holds strong. I have spares (3) in case there's a issue.
My duty gun is a Sig P226 and I have 6200 rounds down it and (5) back up springs just in case after all that gun is my life line on the road.
bigbluemsp 2 years ago
Yeah I've got the M&P 9mm and the spring on it feels brand new. holds strong and shoots straight.
datzitteezy 2 years ago
Gen 4 is so incremental as to be negligible. That's it? Also, 5K rounds for a spring? The standard spring should be good for about 30K no?
