The lyrics are the only thing perfectly the same. Vocals are unique, and the guitar/bass can be different or the same. The drums are normally the same.

that's bullshit, the guitar in a metal cover has to be the same, other than tempo, harmonization, or guitar solos, because guitar in metal is just as important as the lyrics or vocals, if not more so

plus where is the drum intro or guitar solo? it's nowhere.
Not necessarily true, but the Sign's cover raped RTTH, that was the laziest cover i've ever seen, it's like they tried to take it somewhere original and got bored after the intro
@Samus5164 no it's not, it's horrible. I get the point that bands can do something of their own, but it's sound just sucked! my favorite cover so far was the Fear of the Dark cover by Fightstar.
