@CDNBOBify Sorry, but Jerry Lordan wrote Apache for The Shadows, who had a hit with it in the UK in 1960. In the US Jorman Ingmann released a cover version a year later in 1961, and that is the version that folks in the USA think of when they hear Apache. Jerry wrote a number of other hits for The Shadows, the best known being Wonderful Land, in 1962.
