@mvrks69 Stolen suits good when people actually steals and admit that it is their own Job. Sometimes situation don't arise when some one questions.Legends like RD Burman and SD Burman also copied several tunes from west those days.Probably no one would have questioned them.Well known fact that AR Rehman also taken few sounds for his film Indian.
@mvrks69 The word Stolen probably don't work here exactly. This fact is told by ANR,Rajendra Prasad that film is remake of Sagarika.Rajendra Prasad admitted that in his 34 year production Sri Sri wrote only 1 song and it is not of his type and music is also adapted from original, there by Sri Sri actual touch gone missing in his career. If that's the case many Telugu movies are also made in Hindi and still.Even bangla film like Amaar tumi is remake of Telugu flick Pachani Kapuram
@vsssarma - I cant say much about Ghantasala's rendering - Hemant Kumar did a pretty good job (actually both of them had a fixed way of rendering their songs...)
telugu movies and songs are rampant with copies of hindi and bangla works, especially back then...
payaninche O Chilukaa..
and recently - Chiranjeevi in Stalin... copied the idea of helping 3 other people from "Pay it Forward" - my MIL was surprised that this was not an original idea.
i love ghantasala ... a big fan of him (though born 10 years after he died) .... but stil i feel he has put too much classical touch into this song... bengali original is a very light version.... hemant kumar sung that one.. i only wish maasatu konchem light ga paadunte bagundedi..dont know how much freedom he has..or at least saluri rajeshwarrao aina suggest chesi undalsindi . ...
communism gave courage to srisri to bring his heart out and speak his mind boldly. in later life srisri cowed down by failure became apologetic and whinny.
all great poets of 20th century had communism as their inspiration. today's dearth of genuine poetry in Telugu is a result of absence of any such motivating ideology. modern youth bred into aggression-docility syndrome and divided soul by IT prosperity is decadent lot, never capable of producing any genuine poetry...
I know that Sri sri at the end of his life was not prosperous and didn't have money
Sri Sri who was inspired by communism might have felt that the idealogies of communism are his support and of offhand help But in reality communism is a very flawed principle. It curbs the freedom of people. The poets and writers of China and previously USSR were under severe censure and were given punishments like life imprisonment and exile from the country for simple creativity
Telugu culture's decline and dwindling energy of its youth was already apparent in srisri's time itself, and srisri was aware of it - for example, his poems on "unmaadam" in Mahaprasthanam.
Sri Sri being such a wonderful poet endorsing communism [which curbs writers creaativity] surprises me. I really get surprised to know that great ppl like Sri Sri, P Sundarayya, Chandra Rajeswara Rao supported Communism. Communism is fully flawed. Marx indeed talked crap like religion less and nation less world with only 2 classes.[bourgies and workers].
Communism might sound attractive in a free country like India. In reality communism is almost as bad as facism or dictatorship
The tune was lifted from a Bengali movie called Sagarika made in 1956, the video also matches scene by scene, the lyrics are almost the same(the song is amar sopne dekha...)
Movie: Aaradhana Director: V Madhusudhan Rao, Produced by; BV Rajendra Prasad( Jagapathi babu's father) and D Ranga Rao. Music given by Saluri Rajeswar Rao . This song was written by SriSri. In a interview Srisri told that communism is na hrudayam lo nidurinche cheli.
a lot of communists might be cads. but communism is a beautiful vision. if you can disinfect your soul of the ahamkAram, you'll see what communism is.
to 55peelid: Pls give credit to the excellent team who made all the fabulous songs you posted: music director, singers, actors/actresses, lyricists, etc. It will immortalize them. Tks,
Though savitri is main heroine there is no single duet between ANR and Savitri. all duets are picturised on side actors relangi and girija. The lady in this song is rajasri.

This song and its tune were copied from a Bangla song from Sagarika, starring Uttam kumar and sung by Hemant Kumar.
Lyrics- translated (stolen)
tune: copied(stolen)
there is nothing original about this. we give too much credit to our telugu film industry

@mvrks69: Don't you think S.Rajeswara Rao improvised the music greatly ? And Ghantasla's rendering of the song ? A lot better than Hemant Kumar's.

I love this song from the great Sri Sri
I respect him for his poetry and the great command on telugu language
but I don't understand why he adored the failed and tyrannic concept called communism
