the early leather nun, which was more like extreme metl/punk mixed with indusrial noise was so much btter than this, which could be any band from that era
@posthumanhero Then again, few bands of any era spans this widely. I can tell you never caught a full-lenght LN-gig. Then you'd have known the "average" LN-gig would drift between dark goth, sublime loveballads, industrial noise, alternative rock, punk, pop etc. The beauty and the charm of LN. Not very commersial, but never boring.
@JonasA i wasn't aware of that....i just rememebr having this wonderful lp (which i still own) called 'slow death' which is very raw and interesting.......then i started taping the lps off of people and thinking 'i don't really ,like this at all'...........and, if i rememeber correctly, i [did] hear a live lp and it was very mundane.
@ButtersMcFly i stil have the 'slow death ep (+)' with monte cazzaza....i rememeber buying the live lp thinking i'd get more of the same and wondering i bought a cult record by mistake.........lol.
I dont wanna be a tosser but this was THE TUBE ive got it on VHS somewhere I cant be 100% but unless they kept the same clothes on!!! Sorry to be a fuckin smart ass!! Maybe someone said this elswhere? In which case you should change it? Unless im wrong but the OGWT never had that many people there if i remember? If Im wrong delete this call me a cunt I dont care I CAN SMELL YOUR THOUGHTS ;)
@AgzDaRedz Could well be The Tube but the vhs is marked OGWT. It was recorded Live in Stockholm, Sweden to be part of a "special" on the swedish rockscene. Different swedish journalists and recordcompany executives were interviewed. Leather Nun was the only band featured. The full clip of this "special" was lost some 20 yrs ago. And the cute blond girl in the red jacket that can be spot in the beginning of this clip, is actually my then girlfriend.
@JonasA You know what,! I think it was just shown on the tube but actually not in there studios when I think back. They was defo shown on the tube but me thinks that it was just a clip now!!
Wow I loved this when i first heard it about...blimey over 20 years ago. Took me ages to find it, as I couldn't remember the title just that it was leather nun... thanx x
Wow - I saw these guys on their first night of their US tour, in Champaign, IL (opening for Echo). I was in college, majoring in German, minoring in Swedish.
Remember seeing them do a mad version of Abba's 'Gimee gimee gimee a man after midnight'. Brilliant. I've been trying to get a CD of their album 'Force of Habit' but had no luck in Britain. Is one available does anyone know ?
I love their version of that abba song! its my most treasured 12" single. Thanks for letting me know Im not the only person that ever heard it. Try E-bay you never know!!
Used to go and see these guys play in London in the shitty little venues - they were always great and so LOUD!! Also often had stripper nuns too :) Oh Joy!
Jonas wicked hack man...I'd think you'd have right to the WHOLE Video...Anyway... have you heard "INTERPOL" out of NewYork man you'd swear it was the "Leather Nun" themselves F.F.A. my man...I shove my greased fist....
