Of course Aerosmith is one of the all time great bands, and Steven Tyler is one of the all time great lead vocals, but IMHO what REALLY makes Aerosmith stand out is how their songs very often involve modulations or structural changes that would confound lesser bands. And they do it all without the faintest whisper of difficulty. THAT is a great band. :)
