Actually, eating meat is very bad for our enviornment. I'm not sure where you got the information that was actually good for our enviornment, but you were sadly wrong. In fact, eating meat will actually make getting cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and being obese more likely. Yes, the average american does eat meat, and thats why almost all americans are so unhealthy, fat and overweight. We humans are not made to eat meat, and it's definetly not good for you.

You know, I could sit down every night & eat bean soup & cornbread.Mmm Good! Heck add some fried 'taters and I'm good. I could eat this every night BUT I do enjoy the all time American favorite-Hamburger. Steak is right up there,too. It is not a matter of right or wrong. It is a choice. These kids have already done that. Go watch all of them. There is more to agriculture than cattle. These kids have done an outstanding job in covering what agriculture is all about. Our forefathers (& yours too) hunt, killed to feed his family. In animal world, strong kills the weak.Seems mean to me,but it's necessary.

I wish everyone could understand that the point of these videos is to show the hard work farmers put into raising their cattle and delivering the highest quality food for the consumer.

Please understand weither you are vegan or eat meat. These cattle are treated well by the PROPER farmers. So lets all just get along and tolerate one anothers views.

The video is not saying that we are using land that grow "Veggies" We are making use & not wasting land. Imagine 85% (thats alot) would look like if it was not used for agriculture. Don't freak out. Pandora's box has been opened. The bell has been rung. If you think we can return to family farm style agriculture, you're mistaken. Factory farming is here to stay as long as there is ANY demand for animal products.

So... when you eat animals, you support factory farming. When you support factory farming, you terrorize the environment, animals, and humans.

The majority of cattle do not graze. They are raised in factory farms. Your entire argument rests on grazing cattle, but that's not a reality these days. Very few cattle graze and even those are often sent to feed lots their last 6 months before slaughter... feedlots that are bad for the environment, waste corn and soy that humans could eat, and encourage the spread of disease.

Actually most cattle do graze. Factory farming is nearly impossible with cattle. My dad farms so I do know what im talking about. Cattle have to have room to grow. Furthermore they need a balance of pasture and grain. This means that they must graze. Very rarely will you find factory farming with cattle. They arent treated as bad as you think. At least not by the farmers who actually want a profit and try to do the best quality possible.

After this contest ends, I think that the comments that they have received(especially this one) should be posted in many parts of internet,schools and media. The videos brought out MORE than intended. These comments have brought to our attention how valuable our agriculture,FFA are. Thank you cndoom2 and learneragle for your input I found it education and IMPORTANT. Too much today is taken for granted. I hope others find it the same as I did. Hats off to these girls&FFA. Per cheese7866's prior reference to current day agriculture, please take Australia as a great example. The current population is >20 million. Without intensive agriculture, the carrying capacity of the continent is 40,000. That would leave >19.6 million people without a morsel to eat. Globally, you would need to wipe >90% of the world pop. off the map w/o production agriculture, decimating output in medical & industry research and taking the human race back to the 1600's. No thank you.

Perhaps cheese7866 could be served by taking a more dynamic view of the food supply that so generously allows this individual to choose to lead a vegetarian lifestyle; undoubtedly, your overall health would not be maintained without the great contributions of American and global farmers who spend their worthy hours slaving over the soil and under the sun so you have a choice.

I'm glad this is such a positive message about agriculture. After all farmers are the best stewards of our land. The agriculture we have today in the United States is why we pay less than 10% of our income on food. There are numerous references in the Bible about eating animals and so if that's what God intended I think I'll follow those directions. Keep the positive message about all those hard working farmers and all they do where everyone can see it.

The idea that cattle farming is good for the environment is ridiculous. Seriously! True, cows are put where the land is poor. But that doesn't make it good for the Earth. It's not even good for people. I am merely quite concerned about the misinformation the children in this district are apparently getting. Poor kids. Poor cows. Poor Earth. Being aware of the abuses humans cause to the animals and the earth is quite mature. So I ask you, who needs to grow up?:)
