  • Can you make a video of you waving your flags?

  • Nice set of Dynamic Dezigns flags you got there ljostarter. i love the disqualification flag that is so awesome.

  • The blue flag doesn't mean move over...

  • @slot962 It does in oval racing.

  • Good video, except I don't know of any series that uses or even has a non-scoring flag. And score "sheets" have been gone for years. Well, I think NASCRAP still uses the non-scoring flag, but that's just typical NASCRAP.

  • @44MHughes same difference. means they'll stop scoring that car.

  • @44MHughes Actually, NASCAR races are still scored by hand as a redundancy.

  • were on the internet can you buy flag stands

  • @Mully198 You can buy one at the Dynamic DeZigns website

  • How much are those flags? Also where do you buy them?

  • The 'move over flag ' actually means ...pick it up -drive like hell.their about to lap you boy

  • you forgot the oil flag,..and the checkered flag also means that the race or practice/qualifying session is over.. not just the winner... but its nice that someone took the time to explain... i had to learn them by myself...

    Cheers

  • True, simply put it means "over."

  • The move over flag is also the signal for the midway point, and also a careful sign for road races. The flag id displayed when there's something near that area which requires attention, but not a full-course caution.

  • One thing I've noticed is that not every race track/sanctioning body has the same flag rules. For a lot of places, either the furled green and white crossed means "halfway" or the moveover and white furled and held in a cross, etc.

  • I've seen a cross combination in the Daytona 500, I believe in 2006 or 2007. You can see it by FOX's starter cam.

  • Rick and Rodney use the moveover and white flags, same thing with Kevin. They got it from Doyle Ford.

  • most the time they will they cross the move yellow and green flag or checker and white flag for half way..

  • What size of dowel you got on 'em? The two greens and the black look like 1/2.

  • All are 5/8 inch dowels

  • wow over 2000 views

  • okay thats to much lol

  • That's Not Much

  • Okay, add in the double section bag and the aluminum flag holder, the total would be $490.

  • How Much did the set And disqualification flag cost

  • $250

  • Did you get them 1 by1 or is it a whole set

  • I bought them all at once, except the disqualification flag. I bought it seperately.

  • my set is 24X30

  • What are the size of these flags?

  • 25x25

  • Would you look at that "ljostarter"--over 1000 views--wow!

  • whats the width of the headers on the Dynamic sets??

  • what do you mean?

  • They're 2" most of the time. I've had a few that are 1 3/4".

  • i have these i know what they all mean i am hardcore nascar fan

  • How much did a set of these cost you?

I've always wanted to get an "officials" set.

  • The set in this video cost $230 (not counting the bag and the holder). If you get just 8 flags with no spares, it's $180. If you want a bag, it's $50 extra.

  • The black flag isn't only "you f'ed up" its also used for when someone has something wrong with their vehicle.

  • You are correct.

  • Does your organization require you to provide your own flags or just souvy's? Seeing this makes me want to get my own but the other marshalls would laugh at me lol.

  • I assure you that these flags are not souvenirs. They don't require me to have my own, but I prefer to use my own.

Why would they laugh at you?

  • Ours are provided and not all marshalls take their job as pridefully as others. I really couldn't give a rip what they think, just what I know would happen.

Nuffin better than going for the yellow flag and finding out its some rinky dink tiny thing... Had that happen more than once when taking over the tower... WHY anybody keeps using those tiny flags is beyond me, maybe they don't like switching arms when having to wave the flags a lot.

  • That is usually the case. I have found that by simply working out my upper body and arms that it helps me wave the flags.

So you are a corner worker?

  • On the odd occassion I work in the tower. I mostly do tower on track days since we don't have enough people coming out, on race days they need more corner workers than they need tower workers. Can't quite beat the rush of cars or motorcycles ripping by you no more than 10 feet away and high speeds. Thats one thing I like about the corners more than up in the tower. But the tower has its own unique challenges too.

  • @kerethan Actually, the MECHANICAL black flag (aka the "meatball" flag) is for when something is wrong with the car. The solid black flag is for when you've violated race procedures and suffer a penalty/consequences

  • whare did you get them??

  • I got them off of the Dynamic DeZigns website.

  • The white flag is used to indicate an ambulance on the racetrack, not the start of the final lap.

  • That definition is for road course racing. For oval track and road courses in North America, the white flag means "one lap to go."

FIA Flag rules are different. A white flag means exactly what you have stated. However, in North America, a white flag with either a red cross or an "X" is used instead of a solid white.

  • I concur with both of you.

  • nice explaination!
