  • a10 if you cut the 2 back tailwings 1 nc and take wheels off it will be ok

  • u can upgrade the elevator, bend the elevator up a little bit and i think is going to fly better

  • I'd take the osprey rather than this...

  • i had this plane it sucks why cant they just get stronger motors?

  • Put a couple pieces of tape on the back wing to put a little weight in the back

  • Are you in Southern California or Nor Cal

  • Strafing Run Inbound !!!

  • where do u buy all this

  • take wheels off

  • WHERE DO I BUY ONE. I HAVENT FOUND IT ANYWHERE!

  • @TheMcCoWaN43 ebay has one £20

  • (Got one Xmas 2011 cont.) Forgot to mention, I cycled the battery/broke in the motor for 2 cycles before attempting maiden. I wonder if it has been updated since Sept 2010. Mine has more than enough power. Took it way up, out of range high. I bought it planning to mod it with better battery in better location, but not necessary for now. Great as is.

  • Just got one for myself for Xmas 2011. Was worried about first flight since I new about all the bad reviews, but wanted to try it a little before doing too many mods. Pulled off plastic nose cone and left landing gear off, made sure all tape was stuck down good and not hurting aerodynamics. First launch had it porpoising up and down (nose up, stall, fall down) and then crash. Too much power! Second launch at about 60% throttle was good and took me way up for almost 10 minutes. Flies great!

  • I have the airhogs A-10 to, what I tryed doing is making a manual elevator to see if it would generate enough lift but I haven't tryed it yet.

  • It just looks good, but seeing as how it's a bit underpowered and all that, not worth it I guess. Almost bought one, just because the A-10 was a childhood favorite.

  • This review is correct. I have plenty of flight experience and tried this neat looking little aircraft.

Yes, it is a toy grade, not hobby grade, but I did expect it to do better than it did. It just does not have enough power for any kind of sustained flight. Poor design.....my results were very much like the ones in this video.

  • well it is a toy what do you expect? I would be really excited if the fans worked well I'd buy one just to use the fans for a project.

  • Yeah I see the problem I watched multiple vids of the warthog you need to launch it from the ground that's why it wont fly when you threw it all the times but you never tryed to launch it from the ground that's the problem

  • The problem is the inefficiency of the ducted fans. Such things need very high fan rotation speed to achieve reasonable thrust, higher RPMS than these little motors can deliver.

I had the same problem with the Air Hogs free-flight aircraft. Most flew well with 30-45 second flights, but the one ducted fan model never flew more than a few feet before crashing.

Stick with their propeller aircraft for now, until the motors Air Hogs uses get strong enough.

  • and i had the landing gear off. it made a night and day diff with the gear on or off.

  • @kyussfan6 Could this be because the balance changed and gave it a more "upward" orientation in the back? Maybe the landing gear is just so light it would not matter, or maybe it helps the attack angle of the wings?

wel, I have one wrapped and under the tree.

  • i first flew mine today. It was amazing! I dont know if its a color difference (I got the grey and black version) but it seemed to fly just fine. Just a little lag on the controls.

  • I bought a airhog a10 like this for my son, and I thought it was me as I couldn't get this plane to fly!!

  • wow that sucked

  • you are supose to launch with the wind!

  • @chiwea123 No you launch *into* the wind.

  • @RCManiaDotCom nice reply

  • @RCManiaDotCom Yes, best lift comes from flying into the wind. Doesn't matter here, because this plane can't generate enough lift to fly downwind, and you can't fly upwind for the whole flight!

. I'd say fly it on absolutely wind-free mornings and evenings if possible for best chance of success..

  • @chiwea123 you obviously know nothing about aviation, thats a common misconception launching with the wind reduces the lift produced by the wings.

  • going to take my old storm launcher props and mod the plane to have more speed and possibly going to add another battery

  • you sound like dino george, but great vid

  • how could you possibly NOT succeed in inproving the plane?? Y R awesome peroid.

  • this plane sucks i couldnt get it to fly

  • My A-10is great. This guy needs to do a new review. I'm sure Airhogs has upgraded this plane. Its been popular, and still in production. I've had 2, bot flew great out of booze. I bent the front wheel so that it would land without bouncing.

  • do u live in the countryside

  • Sorry gang, but as the pilot in this video, I just cannot recommend this plane. I have several full size 4+ channel aircraft, several hundred hours on a sim and a few hundred hours in real live. I have flown almost every air hogs plane they have produced, and this was among the worst. Yes I am aware we might have gotten a bad plane, I will admit that. Adding up elevator, yes I did that. Truth be told, we are not amateur pilots or rc enthusiasts. That being said, not everyone will agree with our

  • its because of how it turns because the props are so close together that they provide half the forward thrust and when going with the wind it pretty much cuts it down to gliding

  • i might buy this is this good outdoors

  • @TheHockeyboy68 Yah It's great. If you get it they've improved it slightly. Less chance of it not flying. If it can't stay up give the back wing some up elevator. It then will fly perfectly

  • the wingspan is too little for thet's small diameter ,low rpm fan.

maintaining the proportions, the should run at 20-22000 RPM to control it

or maintain the motors but use a structure like vjet with fixed wing and advance to the wings the motors otherwise will crash easy

  • Right on RCMania, the Air Hog A-10 fly's worse than a rock thrown up into the air. Even the bloggers who like the A-10 report no more than 1-2 minutes flight time. WOW, a real record there. Air Hogs should be ashamed marketing such worthless junk even under the so called Toy label. Save your money and get an airplane with at least a removable battery and a motor with enough power to keep it up in the air.

  • Comment removed

  • this is a ok jet set if you practice

  • I just got one and it flies pretty good till the wind picks up. did you try the air hogs thunder strike?

  • THANK U

  • You need to do a new review on this plane. In RC Groups someone said he got one when they where just released, and he got a newer one at Target. I contacted SpinMaster and they said that they have done power, and airframe improvements to make sure the elevator is in the right position! please buy a new one, and if you don't like it, return it!

  • maybe it has not much power

  • @dittsboylogan ur right about its not a beginner plane cause it said intermediatte right on the box

  • i got 1 and it works perfect

  • those 2 channel planes are a waste of money

  • u need to go in the wind and turn around thats what i do and it goes great!

  • I need to clear this to all of you. The Airhogs A-10 is great! It's ust not a good beginner plane. Some people need to adjust the elevator to get green one, and a grey one. both are great. They flew fine out of the box but I Adusted the elevator ( take a toaster and put the section between the engine, and the elevator.) this will make the foam flexible and you're able to adjust the flight. Don't let this guy decide for you. Get it. If you have questions massage me!

  • Since the fans are in the back of it, if you try to go higher in flight it will take time or fall and crash

  • i heard that the silver ones work better is that true?

  • @nerdalert226 no, just rumors. i have both colorsa and they work great. you might have to adjust the elevator.

  • one awsome plane

  • is it an indoor plane?

  • My bro had it. It sucked. he was so sad that it did not fly.

  • This posted video the ONLY guy I've seen that got his to fly exceptionally well

    v=k70zmqQhBnA

  • I had the same problem but I took the landing gear off and it flew!

  • Yours flew far better in this video than mines did. I could'nt get mines to fly 10 feet without nose diving into the dirt. After realizing that this plane (for me) was nothing more than an overpriced Lawn Dart, I gave up and threw it away.

  • Seems to be more of a standard gratis problem with all air hogs planes!!

  • I bought one about 3 months ago. Every time I have flown it, it works great. I can control it fine and it can fly up to 30 seconds to a minute. All you need is little or no wind.

  • 2ch Plane? how do you pull up?

  • how can it go up then stop its got no elevators

  • on the back of th plane you should cut two elvators out.

  • on the back of the plane you should cut two elvators out

  • Would you recomend this to beginners or not?

  • is the jet set a good plane compared to other air hogs plane as of now? I have one, just wondering

  • It sure crashes a lot in that video...

  • thats why the green one is the least popular on websites you can literally go on a website like toys r us and find higher star ratings on the silver one and others have less problems and it flies longer on the silver

  • i have one and it has the same problem... its as though its underpowerd... i have tried everything... and for all those who say use the land gear it will not even leave the ground using that function trust me... had all the right conditions and it just hoped up ad down

  • it gos slow because you throw it.when u do it gets alot of poweer an then it oes away so it loses power quick u should try usin the landgear as an advantage to take off.

  • Hmm needs a a chain gun and some Jdams

  • I love it... "Speaking of rigidity, the wings are both very flexible!"

    Looks cool, nice video

  • where do u put the motors in a ducted fan engine is it right behind the prop

  • Sadly, the hit or miss quality is common with Air Hogs aircraft. For example, out of 4 Twin Thunder helis, 2 flew great (1 was actually really awesome, considering), and 2 merely floated down to the floor within seconds, and for no discernible reason(s).

In the world of R/C aircraft, knowing how pricey larger & more reliable models can get, the best way to describe these is: you get what you pay for... which is why I keep returning them til I get the ones that work well. ;) Good luck, have fun!

  • I just got it and me and my dad are going to throw it off a big hill to see how long it can fly tomorrow!

  • try putting some 50mm ducted fans that are brushless and get a new esc and lipo =] that might make it fly

  • i had the same problem

  • It needs more power in the eletric motors

  • the motors are too weak for that plane a good thing to do is to stripp some tape take away the landing gear and put the engines on the wings ontop of them near the body and try it then (planes motors are way to weak and its front heavy so its dives)

  • This is true. I had the same problem, and that why I did modify my plane. I moved the battery back a few inches which helped the plane a bit, but overall this plane is still under powered and too heavy.

Maybe a future Frankenstein mod of bigger power and battery can fix this.

  • Hello, I watched your review of this product, unfortunately too late. I already purchased this item. I had the very same problem with it. As well as many other people that reviewed this product. Fortunately, I was pleased to find that Air Hogs was willing to make it right. If anyone out there has purchased this, simply contact Spinmaster the maker of Air hogs and let them know you are displeased, and they are more than happy to replace this item for you. Hope this is helpful. go to airhogs.com

  • Hey you guys gave this aircraft a f and put it on a rc malarkey and said it should never have been made. Why say that that's just your experience? I have this plane and flew fine right out of the box, auctualy better than my osprey. My I've had two ospreys first was defective, second turns to the left even with all the trim set. I mean think about it it should still be made, mine and a lot of others fly wonderfully. Please, that's just your experience.

  • Got one of these for xmas. It flies as far as i can throw it. Wing came off on the third flight. What a load of crap.

  • so dumb. i got a park zone!

  • was this filmed in california? because that hill in the background looks like the hill next to where i live.

  • My one flew the same but I realised that the back wing (elavator) was too small so I put card board to enlarge it and now it flys great.

  • they sould put lasers on planes like that one so you could have a dogfight.

  • the F 18 previous model was better. from what i saw the F 18 can fly much faster, Much longer, Much higher and dosent have to fly into the wind. i got a 2 min flight in winter!

  • @mrbionicleboy Cool, you're one of the lucky folks mentioned in the review who got one that actually flies!

  • @RCManiaDotCom so am i i can fly it right outside my door

  • @mrbionicleboy You try that, and let us know how if it works better for ya.

  • Perhaps some weight in the tail section could make the noise raise up there for the wings catch more air and keep it in flight?

  • it dint' break in so many crashes that's excellent and if it could fly properly I'd buy that.

    Thanks for the review.

  • nice review ive been waiting for a overview/review of this

  • I guess you should put a kf 3 airfoil and some take off flaps, I hope this works. good luck and nice video.

  • That first clip of it flying looked good..too bad it can't always fly like that.

  • I have the same exact green shirt you have in the video :)

  • When you get performance such as this, do you ever think it might be a one off bad one? Would you consider getting another one just to make sure? A shame since it seems to fly well and resist crashes. Just needs more power to the fans.

  • @Mark2790 The problem is that many other people have had the same experience, so I know that this wasn't a one-in-a-million fluke.

  • @RCManiaDotCom All of that airhogs stuff I got is total crap. Flew for 10 seconds and lasted 2 days before it stopped working

  • @Mark2790 A friend of mine fly fine but that was after major modifications.

  • @Mark2790 needs to go brushless!

  • @Mark2790 I buyed this one and it´s sucks , i have 2 Warthogs and only one can fly for a while , the other one just take off and crash into the ground. It´s true.

  • ducted fan?

  • @stupid0rigami Did... did you even see the first 30 seconds of the video? :-/

  • @RCManiaDotCom i had this plane and i found out that if when your plane goes right your press left on the controller and it will straighten it out and it would keep from crashing.

  • how do you make the plane go up or down

  • @cod4ghost123 With the throttle stick. More throttle gives more speed and also more lift, which is supposed to make it go up.

  • one thing is it looks crash resestent lol

  • thats a shame. it looked promising.
