  • Wow! A Narco SuperHomer radio! I used a Narco SuperHomer on the 7Ec and 7Fc planes I learned to fly back in 1964. That radio was about obsolete back then. It had a total of 27 tubes in the radio and the power supply and weighed 22 lbs. total. At night, I think the position lights dimmed when you transmitted on the 1 1/2 watt transmitter. During radio warm up, the receiver frequency would drift, and you'd have to double check the coffee grinder tuning. Brings back memories. Ha Ha Ha.

  • My dad was the owner of 2 ... one was an A and think the other was the D....I was only ever in the A and was such an awesome plane....the sucky thing was the lack of an electric start but was reliable as hell and could go anywhere...even on skis....made ice fishing fun but was quite deaf after the trip....I love the touchdown sound of a taildragger...brings back memories.

  • I like the coffee grinder...

  • I get nervous just watching this video. Haven't been flying in a long time, and there's nothing like that nervousness on takeoff when it's been a long time since you flew. After you level off, the nervousness goes away and the enjoyment begins.

My dad used to have a 1948 Luscombe 8E. Loud as h*** in that thing, but fun nontheless. :)

  • Awesome
