I suspect you didn`t get the hinge point at the epicenter of the bend.if you want really sharp bends, don`t forget to set back the clamp bar at lest the inside radios of the bend. tryed to send a photo but failed ? give me your email address will send direct. hope that helps
Hi, i made one but my bends are not as sharp as yours , I think it could be the hinges iv made....can you take a closer pic of your hinges when you get a chance please so I can see what im doing wrong ..thanks :)
Very innovative. You have inspired me to build a metal folder and a disk sander. Both, if one has them in the shop, can be very valuable. Thank you for sharing with us.
well I used even heavier cable and got twice the turns, but any more than that and it would not be a spotwelder but a atomizer, as it its I can easy blow a hole in 3/16 plate if more than a millysecond or two........! my neighbours often comment their lights flicker, hmmm !
No thats excellent, only one more question how many windings did you replace when rewinding so as to make the modification on the larger unit....cheers
Thanks for the reply...infact I have a few of these transformers too, because I too dont throw anything away, do you know what sort of current this thing is pulling at the socket even if with a clamp or tong type tester? cheers
What size is the larger transformer that you have used for the bigger spot welder? Very good videos informative, clear and concise.....and British....Excellent!!!
You are a genius!
I clicked on this video at random and I am so happy I did! I subscribed:)

I guess about 1-4 amps for microwave tranys ? my large spotwelder go`s about 8-12 amps
because of such a short duration (millisecond`s) its not easy to meter, but would be most surprised if more ! hope that helps
