Wasn't this weeks if not months before Rod Joined the FAces? Wasn't he in the Jeff Beck group at this point? Who was the guitarist and Basist? Surely the bassist for this would've been better in the Faces than what Ronnie Lane was to be? Why, oh, Why didn't Rod continue working with this lot while he was a Face? That would've been cool.
funeral today from camden to newcastle , the curtains opened and the coffin disappeared to her favorate song " python lee jackson - in a broken dream ,wot a cool gran , worth the long drive
First heard this wailing from my little transistor radio in the early 70's, probably on Radio Luxemburg. Had no idea then that it was Rod guesting on a song by Australian band Python Lee Jackson. Rod sounded alright back then, didn't he?
Great, this song and "the blues", great voice.

Just to answer a few peoples questions..
Python Lee Jackson is not a person, it's the name of the band that played this song.
Rod Stewart was not a member of the band, he was brought in to work with them on a few songs, thus he is featured as a guest vocalist on this song.
It is not a Rod Stewart song.
It was written by Dave Bentley, the original vocalist for Python Lee Jackson.
That is all... :)

Ronnie Lane is god, kept it simple and wrote great songs! If anything he was the heart of the Faces.
In saying that this is one of the best songs ever made! Rod for God!
