When i watch this ending, i always cry, no matter how many times i watch it, but now that i know he's not dead, it takes the feeling out of the ending ( i still cry though) and it makes me fell kinda pointless. That's just what i think though.

ther are many therios of what truely happenned here. the most prominent one is that Lelouch is the cart driver and that CC knows this. Some people find it cruel that, if he is alive, he left everyone that loved him with the idea that he was truely dead, but i say that was the smartest thing Lelouch could do. the threat of others finding out of Lelouch's survival would be to great and would stir up the peace he sacfricied so much to create.this would bring everything full circle and f stuff up.
just for the record: The original Japanese ending showed lelouch alive as the cart driver. A lot of other things point out that lelouch is alive, because he became a code (thus imortall): The fact that nunallly got his memories when she touched him. This happens only when a potential geass bearer comes in contact with an immortal code.
CC said that in order for the immortality to activate, the potential code has to be killed.
Lelouch is still alive.....how do I know it? because if Sunrise (the studio that made the anime) don't make an end....instead of medicine I'll study animation and MAKE IT TRUE!!!

She, till the end, followed lelouche, not his plan. It wouldn't make any sense that she's comforted by his spirit. When lelouche hands suzaku his mask, he says, "erase," not "kill." When he is stabbed, he says "this is *also* a punishment for you." The sacrifice is a permanent mask and his own happiness. There is enough to question.
You know what's really awkward? Lelouch's japanese voice actor,Jun Fukayama, is the same voice actor as Grell Sutcliff from Black Butler... .-.

@deathberry74 i think that's why they removed the scene showing lelouch smiling after cc's little speech from the dub and subsequent japanese airings, to let those who didn't see the original ending go with what they felt happened, but with the original ending, it opens the door to r3, which a large number of fans want to happen

@deathberry74 I dont think so,youre not sure if hes alive, it's like inception youre opinion on the ending is your own, they didnt say he was dead nor he was alive. I just think that even if hes alive, people are sure hes dead and he still made the sacrifice for the sake of peace, anyway that is my opinion.

ther are many therios of what truely happenned here. the most prominent one is that Lelouch is the cart driver and that CC knows this. Some people find it cruel that, if he is alive, he left everyone that loved him with the idea that he was truely dead, but i say that was the smartest thing Lelouch could do. the threat of others finding out of Lelouch's survival would be to great and would stir up the peace he sacfricied so much to create.this would bring everything full circle and f stuff up.

just for the record: The original Japanese ending showed lelouch alive as the cart driver. A lot of other things point out that lelouch is alive, because he became a code (thus imortall): The fact that nunallly got his memories when she touched him. This happens only when a potential geass bearer comes in contact with an immortal code.
CC said that in order for the immortality to activate, the potential code has to be killed.

This was the perfect ending to the series. Any claims that Lelouch is alive, any speculation on a third season, is just an insult to Code Geass.

@JatinderGill9 Idunno. To leave one part of the story satisfied, you leave one part unsatisfied. C.C. has repeatedly said that she just wants to leave the world. She, till the end, followed lelouche, not his plan. It wouldn't make any sense that she's comforted by his spirit. When lelouche hands suzaku his mask, he says, "erase," not "kill." When he is stabbed, he says "this is *also* a punishment for you." The sacrifice is a permanent mask and his own happiness. There is enough to question.
