Kenneth Williams disliked Renee Houston during the making of At Your Convenience because she hated his telling dirty jokes on set and never knew her lines. She was supposed to play Mrs Dukes in Carry On Girls but was replaced by Joan Hickson due to poor health.
the carry on films! I never get enough of them! today i watched follow that camel and on tuesday i watched carry on cabby! Charles Hawtrey is fantastic!
it's a shame kenneth cope wasn't in more of them he only did one more Carry on matron. Incidentally the street where vic spanner was supposed to live was part of pinewood studios and originally built for a sherlock holmes movie they'd do anything to save money. it was taken down a few years later
