I've read ur powerleveling guide and it just seems so much longer to read it through than watching your videos lol. Just a thought, but awesome job with the guide!
There are future updates in store for that guide, of which improves the procedure and contains more corrections. It'll be updated once I return to FF12. With the update will almost certainly come an update to these heavily-out-of-date videos.
I can tell you haven't read my GameFAQs powerleveling guide. I don't have a Gameshark or the like for the PS2. I've earned all this through a lot of patience.
if you cant get the rod, you can try to drop of dastian the flame staff, atck 50, but to get the burning bow is very hardly (im not good with the quickenngs) =) , jeje salutes =)
The rod has a 22.5% chance of being obtained per attempt. That's very good when you think about it. The burning bow has just 1% per attempt - 76 attempts of the burning bow is about that of 3 attempts at the rod.
The rod (attack power of 30) is the next step after what you start with followed by the burning bow (attack power 63). The rod is found in a treasure chest and the burning bow is a 1% drop from dive talon (of which requires quickenings in order to defeat).
The rod is easy to get - there's a 22.5% chance of getting it and the treasure respawns by either quit and reload or getting 3 zones away so you're otherwise guaranteed to get it, if you try enough times. The burning bow is much tougher to get due to the 1% odds.
This was my first time of reaching level 99... before doing the Nalbina Dungeons event. I've done it a second time later on. A third is due as well in the future, for a video that explains how to get level 99 fast and early (and much more efficiently than the series I already have and that covers everything my GameFAQs guide does, including the 70-hour method and the part after getting the dawn shard).
Yes, well u are awesome player and VERY patient also. Way to go! I'm now passinthe game for the 1st time with my friends, and we just beated that Boss where you see Fran's sister, and then u fight the boss, wut's its name again..? And we're bout lv. 25-30, so, xD
I've never been that far into the game without everyone on level 99. The furthest I've been without everyone at level 99 is right after getting the dawn shard where I need to go to Jahara. The lowest level at which I have gotten the dawn shard is about level 20ish, as part of my quest to get near-perfect HP and MP (I've got Ashe with 6123 HP and 334 MP).
why don't you go to the zertian caverns the enmies are stronger there, give more exp and you can get Adrammelech, then again i'm not sure if you can get him until after getting Belius plus you might actually die there due to your lack of strong magic or equipment.
At this point, well before Nalbina Dungeons (let alone the Tomb of Raithwall), only the first zone is accessible. The cave is only 80% as fast - I tried it. Plus, there's the risk of sandstorms which will result in gnoma entite appearing - use magic near that thing and you're really in trouble. As soon as cura is available (just before leaving Bhujerba) and you've got 2 burning bows, it's entirely possible to defeat gnoma entite with just 2 characters (and get an urstrix watching the fight).
I don't have access to such a thing. I would like every character with 20,000 base HP and 800 base MP (40,000 HP with bubble and 2400 MP with 3 mist charges). That would be interesting to see what Yiazmat or the upper reaches of the great crystal (Omega Mark XII for one) would be like with that. FF12 is the only FF game I've played where you can have a character with more than 9999 HP and 999 MP. Basch is best with HP at 16,806 and Ashe is best with MP at 1272.
Hey just a realy quick 2 question's, 1 I thought you couldnt get ioinon arrows beforw the crestent stone part, and 2 what did you train on up to that point, just your avrage wolfs, and wu's ect?
You can buy onion arrows as soon as the ceremony is over - find the shop just outside Nalbina Town in the northeast part of Yardang Labyrinth. For details on how to level up like this with virtually no story progress, see my guide on GameFAQs and refer to the 70-hour method. While I have a video on YouTube, it needs to be replaced as I've made the process much more efficient (the guide on GameFAQs is the current best for efficiency). It's been recently updated as well.
I've hit level 99 before even entering LowTown. It's doable in as little as 70 hours, but the reward is that all 6 characters (the other 5 you'll get), plus all guests will be level 99. There's also the 40-hour method which only provides 4 level 99 characters (Balthier and Fran are left out). My current run (the second run of this) is looking to be 85 hours, but another 10 to 12 or so hours is going toward fine-tuning the exp-remaining so I can also get the most HP and MP possible.
I have an in-depth walkthrough explaining how you get level 99 within 50 hours (potentially as little as 40) with very little story progress. That video series covers everything from the tutorial area and level 1 clear until the finish.
FF12's strong point is its graphics. They're almost theater quality. If you research FF12, you'll find that it's for the PS2, not the PS3, but it can be played on the PS3.
I can get level 99 about 15% of the way through the game with as little as 40 hours (I have a video where I do it in 50 hours and I explain just how to do it). Unlike here where all 6 characters start out on level 99, the method in my video has 4 characters at level 99 which is more than enough for the bulk of the game (Balthier and Fran are left out but should be quick to level).
I luv this game, it's perfect i don't know why some people just hate the fact that vaan is the main character. too bad they are not sticking with the same gameplay in FF13
I find Vaan very useful - he's suitable for both physical attacks and magic attacks (slightly more physical). He also has lots of HP as well. The battle system is a bit buggy (my other videos after this one show this). This game is my third favorite and most of that comes from the fact you can reach level 99 with almost no story progress (I have a video coming soon that explains how to do just this - I get level 99 in just under 50 hours (Balthier and Fran excluded)).
I have a video coming that explains this whole process. Trouble is, I have so many segments to process from the rest of the previous game to get and thus it may be a while.
The bow shown here is the burning bow, dropped from dive talon (use quickenings on it from behind and near and exit, since its attacks deal about 550 damage. The next segment of this video series explains the whole process, if you're interested. If you've done the Nalbina Dungeons event, you'll have access to the level 40 enemies in Garamsythe Waterway, only recommended with the burning bow, the "immobilize" spell, the license for raising magic attack with full HP, and level 50.
I've added Disgaea 2 to my Christmas list.... I wonder if you can go around hitting enemies with tons of status effects like I do in FFT (18 on one enemy is my current record).
Yes i have my first burning bow after three reset and no chains!!! i saved to the teleport stone and i killed the dive eagle next toonly three time before my burning bow!!!
It seems like it's a lot, but keep in mind that Vaan is the only character in the party. This means that the experience isn't split among the party - all of it is focused on that one character which is why it results in so much more. In effect, with only Vaan in the party, it's like I've defeated an enemy worth 12,000 EXP, only it's split among all 6 characters (potentially 94,000 if level 99 is reached since everyone has 99,999,999 exp, a theory I'm trying to test).
Ahh i love this game i just started again since my ps3 broke and i lost all my data when they sent me a new one, i had like 50 hours and was at the end of the game with every thing done ! its going to take a lot of patiants haha
Wouldn't you still have your memory card with you? How could you have lost your game data with returning the system, unless you forgot your memory card in it. Keep in mind though that I don't know much about any of the current generation consoles....
Hey man if you want to do other intersting thing, you can thief the rare game rape rampager or something like that, he gave me 3 screamroot, with those you can have a potion pack in the bazaar(contain X-potion, high-potion and normal potion)
The dustia method is too risky, since you have to have 20% HP left, or whatever that is (I'm thinking it's HP critical). I'm level 85 right now with only 70 1/2 hours of play. Calculations tell me that I have about 27 more hours to go before reaching the level 99 goal. My method seems to be just as fast as the dustia method, perhaps even a little faster, and it doesn't have the high risk either. I'm getting 3650 exp a minute, 3 1/2 dustia's a minute.
ok i understand... but theirs a lot of things you can do for avoiding the dustias risk like when you attack yourself more than once, you switch weapon.... etc. Everybody has his own met. mine: Dustia but, good luck man!!!!
Tip: get the rod in the estersand area, in the large-sized zone before the river. It'll take a few tries, but you'll go from doing 50 damage to 150 which makes the enemies in the Westersand look much more manageable. Focus on the augments in the license board, especially the +HP ones, along with battle lore, swiftness, and, possibly, the magic-related ones (casting thunder is the best - it has a very short recovery time, almost nothing. Quickenings also help. Need more help, just ask me.
If you've got quickenings, use those on dive talon. The best place is where the orange save crystal is (a gate crystal). Clear the zone before it (with all the alrunes) then use a quickening on the dive talon in the next zone. If you don't defeat it, be ready to run back to the crystal (you see it upon first entering the zone so it's only a short distance). Return to the crystal to restore the MP then try again. The 1% drop rate isn't much so expect it to take several tries.
I've played 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a tiny bit of 10, 12, Tactics, and Mystic Quest. If it weren't for the ranged-weapon glitch in FF12, FF12's battle system is the best and most liked. I have too little experience with FF10 so I can't tell how the sphere grid is (the lack of ability spheres, preventing progress, is having a negative effect). FF2 seems to have the best system, if, again, it weren't for cheap exploits.
Isn't the an Extract Ability technique in FFX, that makes foes drop ability spheres. But that may be not be the case, since I have only played the Inernacional release.
You will have a giant increase of ability spheres whist progressing through Final Fantasy X. You can also learn the "extract ability" skill later on the sphere grid for all characters, as OnyonKnight stated. I know this, for i use the PAL version..
Since I've been taking down a dive talon in 2 hits since level 70, the rate of gaining experience has increased. I thought it was 3400 exp a minute. By using active mode instead of wait mode, I found that it resulted in a 4% speed increase making it about 3400 to 3700 exp a minute. It takes 2.1 minutes to get 7300 exp for the average run at it. At this rate, I should have level 99 by 100 hours of gameplay. At level 72, it's taking almost right on one hour to gain a level....
7-figure damage!? How on earth is that possible!? I've played through the game in full and I don't see how it's possible to approach that kind of damage, not even close. 100,000 is pushing it - I've only gotten 1/3 of the way to that.
however it is only possible in FF12 IZJS. No break DMG limit and there is a bow with 224 attack. Critical hit with bravery, berserk, critical and fiery arrows on a foe with sleep, fire weak, oil and a few times exposed.
What about the US NTSC version, the original FF12? I still haven't broken my previous record yet (32,469 if I recall). Normal physical attacks, from what I've seen, are limited to 9999 damage. Only balance (with more than 9999 HP missing (use bubble) and quickenings seem to do more than 9999 damage regularly, quickenings especially.
60,000 with a fully loaded Dark Matter, 50,000 with zodiarks limit break. But the maximum is 131072. A special techic called numerology can deal that much with the right preparations. I am also a hardcore grinder. You might want to check some of my FF12 vids. I have for example maxed out the EXP (99999999 EXP) with all of my characters on one save.
The most I've ever seen numerology do is either 4096 or 8192 (I don't recall), rarely going past 512. Then again, I have no idea how numerology works, aside from the damage doubling for each successive hit, starting from 1. I broke my damage record yesterday, getting 34,000-something. What about extreme quickening chains though? Couldn't they go beyond 131,072, with sufficient luck?
yes numerology doubles everytime. If it miss it starts over from 1. So just save between every hit if you want to see some real big numbers. Then restart if it misses.
Yes quickenings can in theory deal way more than 131,072 dmg. I do wonder how many combos you need with them though and if it is even possible without a cheatdevice.
if you have used the Dustia method you would have been at level 64 at about 23 hours. You are at about 21% at level 99. So I would estimate that you reach level 99 when your gameclock is 220h.
Do the math. 13.7 million exp is needed for level 99. I've got about 3 million meaning 10.7 million remains. At 3400 exp per minute (from taking down a dive talon in 2 hits consistently, instead of the 3 shown here), that's about 200,000 exp an hour. 10.7 million means about 54 more hours are needed. With the need to save and set up again, it's doable by 100 hours of game play this way, not 220.
If you're referring to FF10, I have (it's my sister's), but got stuck at that blitzball game - it's so hard! My Tidus, at that point, has sphere level 7 (reached in Kilika Woods). It's either I sacrifice learning abilities and move on for stat growth, or, I just save up on the sphere levels and wait for the ability spheres to be dropped by enemies. If only I could get past that blitzball event.... If you're referring to FF11, then there's no chance I'll play it - it's online-based.
X in roman numerals is 10, so yeah I mean Final Fantasy 10.
Ahh so you're in Luca eh? Well you know you don't have to beat it. It can be pretty difficult this early. In fact that game is pretty much based on stats rather than skill so it is very difficult.
I'd advise you to spend the first round passing the ball from your teammates to another to increase their level and DO NOT let the Goers score. Then in the second round try your hardest to score once, and then stall the rest of the game.
I saw two other marks after the X so I couldn't tell if you referring to FF10 (if there are two exclamation points) or FF11 (if there is 1 instead). It's this that lead to the confusion. I know Roman Numerals very well - try representing the limit of a 32-bit unsigned integer in Roman Numerals.... I can't do that in a comment because there's no double overline support. I thought you had to win that game, given how the story is. I got close once, having a 1-2 score, but Graav foiled it....
Now that I'm involved with FF12 again, FF10 will have to wait. Hopefully I can remember that you don't have to win that tournament (the story seems to hint that you have to). Now, is there a way to get it so that those battle tactic reminders stop or go away? For example, have Yuna attack "thunder element" (for 11 damage), and the others keep stating "let us guardians handle the likes of these". By at least acting, you get AP so I make Yuna do this just for the AP (and AP isn't split).
Oh that will still happen for a bit, if you mean that they speak at the beginning of each battle. When you get closer to the late-half of the game it eventually stops.
Not upon starting a battle, that's fine. Have Yuna attack "thunder element" once during the first visit to Kilika Woods and you'll see the HP/MP stuff disappear with text and speech occurring, stating "let us guardians handle the likes of these".
@XXXMASTER - That along with leveling up your teammates in the first half so that you can score in the second half.
@Ulillillia - Oh that's because when you do things like that, that are recommended to be done by other characters (I.E. Attack an Elemental with Physical when it's better to kill it with opposing magic) they'll say that. If Tidus attacks a flying monster and misses, Wakka will say (if he's out, otherwise someone else will say) leave it to me (Wakka).
@razmazter - but, how do you stop this speech from happening. Let's say I have Yuna, Tidus, and Lulu in the party. I have a flying enemy and one of those elemental enemies. Tidus goes first. There's nothing dedicated for him so I attack the flying bee - it misses and the speech occurs. Yuna is next but no one needs HP restored. I have Yuna attack the elemental, for 10 damage, and more speech occurs. Lulu attacks the elemental and removes it. The enemy goes then Tidus. You get the idea.
Sadly, you can't stop it. Every enemy has their strengths and weaknesses and that's what they really want to push on you. Do you know how to switch party members in battle?
That dialogue I think ends not too long after Luca.
please please PLEASE make some new final fantasy 7 videos with commentary your old ones are totally awesome but i dont really get what they are about because theres no commentary.
Read the inscription. Actually the title pretty much says it all. They are stat-maxing guides, leveling guides, showing his super fast gold chocobo, and showing the master materia, fastest method of aquiring gil. I hope I didn't forget anything.
Uli, this isn't related to the video, but I read your book, and loved it. Quick question though, the event that knuckles senses throughout the book seems to get mentioned less and less toward the end. What was the event supposed to be? Seth King taking over Amazonia?
I'd like to talk to you at some point whenever you have the chance, as I'm a long time fan and have always wanted to!
If you've probably read in scene 15 (one of my top favorites), he does it very extensively - read the last paragraph on page 120 and you'll see. He actually increases his rate over time. His narrative speech at the top of page 121 also mentions this. I can tell you also haven't finished my book yet either.
umm mobing is when you hit several monsters and get them to one side of the map then you spam them with things that hit all of the monsters or just each one one by one(this is used in most rpgs/mmorgs for training faster)
It kinda seems like the wolves are actually slowing you down. The time you spend in the menu attacking them could probably be better spent fighting the stronger enemies.
Do the math. On average, I get about 2900 to 3100 exp per minute - let's call it 3000. That's 50 exp per second. Wolves give 16 or 18 exp here. Unless I can go through 3 wolves a second, they slow you down. Once I can consistently take down a dive talon in 2 hits, then I'll have another 10 or so seconds taken away from this which means about 3400 exp a minute. It takes 524,000-some exp for the final level so it would take about 2 1/2 hours to get, as stated in the video description.
I wonder if quickenings can do more than 99,999 damage. I've only had 35,000 as the maximum. A 25-hit combo of nothing but red spiral at level 80 or something is about the best. The video shows the quickening doing 16,000, which is about half my record (it's actually 32,469, now that I checked my notes). I'd love to see 6-figure damage in FF.
No kidding. Defeat the firemane boss in 2 hits, defeat "flowering cactoid" in one hit, go through whole story events doing 4000 damage to everything you see and without having to heal. It's the kind of thing I had on my first play, only not quite that extreme (these bosses were down in 4 or 5 hits). And hey, once I get Penelo, her whole license board, from essentially nothing, can be cleared out completely - getting everything, except espers. Wolves make for cheap, effortless LP ya know....
it works on a grid-based system, but it's very different from other tactics games where grinding is negligable... Disgaea games are all about helping you to grind massively... (max level = 9999)
You should try my 2D RPG. It's not tactical, rather, it's the traditional kind, roam around on a world map or in caves and encounter random enemies. There are no limits for leveling - go for 100,000, if you can spend the centuries it takes to do that....
Then you'd like the games I make. Platform Master's max score is 9 2/9 quintillion, but unless you've got 2000 years available for nonstop play, don't bother reaching it....
There isn't anything found on my site about it because practically everything about it is classified. Do expect the expected - battles, caves, towns, equipment, spells, stats, status effects, an in-depth story, etc..
I've seen the randomization quickenings have - 36 for red spiral one time, 3000 the next. With several quickening hits, however, it averages out quite well. Having 20% HP remaining (or whatever that amount was) is too risky, even with my 4000 HP I have. The strategy guide I have (of which I practically never use) shows dustia giving only 1100 exp, hardly anything to a single 2000 exp dive talon. I have yet to get and see disgaea though.
dustia is useful for when you're just starting out as you can kill them with a pheonix down and dont need quickenings, plus if you zone-out fast enough they'll re-spawn
What do you mean by "zone out"? Do you mean getting 2 zones away to get all enemies to respawn (as I've explained in the video), or simply entering another zone (any zone) then returning? I use phoenix downs whenever I encounter the "Fideliant" enemy.
Ah, get the rod in the estersand area (the one with "naze" in it, just before you get to the river and urstrix and the related are fairly easy to defeat, even at level 10. 263 exp is quite decent, plus, there's less risk at that kind of level. I really don't see much point in dustia. If it was 2500 exp, it would be better, but it's not.
Yep. I first got Penelo while level 35 and she was 35. That was my first play. Ashe started on 86 because the party's average level was 86 (or "86 dot something" rounded down). When I got guests when my whole party was level 99, they had 99,999,999 exp, an amount that seems incomprehensible to get!
I managed to get the francisca from the bazaar

The rod is easy to get - there's a 22.5% chance of getting it and the treasure respawns by either quit and reload or getting 3 zones away so you're otherwise guaranteed to get it, if you try enough times. The burning bow is much tougher to get due to the 1% odds.

I luv this game, it's perfect i don't know why some people just hate the fact that vaan is the main character. too bad they are not sticking with the same gameplay in FF13
mralanv 2 years ago
I find Vaan very useful - he's suitable for both physical attacks and magic attacks (slightly more physical). He also has lots of HP as well. The battle system is a bit buggy (my other videos after this one show this). This game is my third favorite and most of that comes from the fact you can reach level 99 with almost no story progress (I have a video coming soon that explains how to do just this - I get level 99 in just under 50 hours (Balthier and Fran excluded)).

What Bow is it? Please tell me P.S. I'm only level 21
snoopdog1700017000 2 years ago
The bow shown here is the burning bow, dropped from dive talon (use quickenings on it from behind and near and exit, since its attacks deal about 550 damage. The next segment of this video series explains the whole process, if you're interested. If you've done the Nalbina Dungeons event, you'll have access to the level 40 enemies in Garamsythe Waterway, only recommended with the burning bow, the "immobilize" spell, the license for raising magic attack with full HP, and level 50.

It seems like it's a lot, but keep in mind that Vaan is the only character in the party. This means that the experience isn't split among the party - all of it is focused on that one character which is why it results in so much more. In effect, with only Vaan in the party, it's like I've defeated an enemy worth 12,000 EXP, only it's split among all 6 characters (potentially 94,000 if level 99 is reached since everyone has 99,999,999 exp, a theory I'm trying to test).

hey man why don't you do the dustia technic? with this technic, in 60 h you got 80 level minimum
2600054 2 years ago
The dustia method is too risky, since you have to have 20% HP left, or whatever that is (I'm thinking it's HP critical). I'm level 85 right now with only 70 1/2 hours of play. Calculations tell me that I have about 27 more hours to go before reaching the level 99 goal. My method seems to be just as fast as the dustia method, perhaps even a little faster, and it doesn't have the high risk either. I'm getting 3650 exp a minute, 3 1/2 dustia's a minute.
ulillillia 2 years ago
ok i understand... but theirs a lot of things you can do for avoiding the dustias risk like when you attack yourself more than once, you switch weapon.... etc. Everybody has his own met. mine: Dustia but, good luck man!!!!

IcEpHiN 2 years ago
Tip: get the rod in the estersand area, in the large-sized zone before the river. It'll take a few tries, but you'll go from doing 50 damage to 150 which makes the enemies in the Westersand look much more manageable. Focus on the augments in the license board, especially the +HP ones, along with battle lore, swiftness, and, possibly, the magic-related ones (casting thunder is the best - it has a very short recovery time, almost nothing. Quickenings also help. Need more help, just ask me.
ulillillia 2 years ago
Ok thanks, I got the rod and im leveling up a lot faster. I guess i will try to get the burning bow when im about level 40. Im at 21 now.
IcEpHiN 2 years ago
If you've got quickenings, use those on dive talon. The best place is where the orange save crystal is (a gate crystal). Clear the zone before it (with all the alrunes) then use a quickening on the dive talon in the next zone. If you don't defeat it, be ready to run back to the crystal (you see it upon first entering the zone so it's only a short distance). Return to the crystal to restore the MP then try again. The 1% drop rate isn't much so expect it to take several tries.
ulillillia 2 years ago
Haha ok that what ive been trying now, ive killed them a couple of times with quickenings

So which FF games of the ones you have played have the best experience/fighting system?
cm2christ 2 years ago
I've played 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a tiny bit of 10, 12, Tactics, and Mystic Quest. If it weren't for the ranged-weapon glitch in FF12, FF12's battle system is the best and most liked. I have too little experience with FF10 so I can't tell how the sphere grid is (the lack of ability spheres, preventing progress, is having a negative effect). FF2 seems to have the best system, if, again, it weren't for cheap exploits.
ulillillia 2 years ago
Isn't the an Extract Ability technique in FFX, that makes foes drop ability spheres. But that may be not be the case, since I have only played the Inernacional release.
OnyonKnight 2 years ago
You will have a giant increase of ability spheres whist progressing through Final Fantasy X. You can also learn the "extract ability" skill later on the sphere grid for all characters, as OnyonKnight stated. I know this, for i use the PAL version..

how many hours will it take to grind until level 99?
mccheeseburger01 2 years ago
Since I've been taking down a dive talon in 2 hits since level 70, the rate of gaining experience has increased. I thought it was 3400 exp a minute. By using active mode instead of wait mode, I found that it resulted in a 4% speed increase making it about 3400 to 3700 exp a minute. It takes 2.1 minutes to get 7300 exp for the average run at it. At this rate, I should have level 99 by 100 hours of gameplay. At level 72, it's taking almost right on one hour to gain a level....
ulillillia 2 years ago
Have you played any games from the Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior series?

btw maximum possible DMG in FF12 is 1601284 DMG.
flak76e 2 years ago
7-figure damage!? How on earth is that possible!? I've played through the game in full and I don't see how it's possible to approach that kind of damage, not even close. 100,000 is pushing it - I've only gotten 1/3 of the way to that.
ulillillia 2 years ago
however it is only possible in FF12 IZJS. No break DMG limit and there is a bow with 224 attack. Critical hit with bravery, berserk, critical and fiery arrows on a foe with sleep, fire weak, oil and a few times exposed.
flak76e 2 years ago
critical HP*
flak76e 2 years ago
What about the US NTSC version, the original FF12? I still haven't broken my previous record yet (32,469 if I recall). Normal physical attacks, from what I've seen, are limited to 9999 damage. Only balance (with more than 9999 HP missing (use bubble) and quickenings seem to do more than 9999 damage regularly, quickenings especially.
ulillillia 2 years ago
60,000 with a fully loaded Dark Matter, 50,000 with zodiarks limit break. But the maximum is 131072. A special techic called numerology can deal that much with the right preparations. I am also a hardcore grinder. You might want to check some of my FF12 vids. I have for example maxed out the EXP (99999999 EXP) with all of my characters on one save.
flak76e 2 years ago
The most I've ever seen numerology do is either 4096 or 8192 (I don't recall), rarely going past 512. Then again, I have no idea how numerology works, aside from the damage doubling for each successive hit, starting from 1. I broke my damage record yesterday, getting 34,000-something. What about extreme quickening chains though? Couldn't they go beyond 131,072, with sufficient luck?
ulillillia 2 years ago
yes numerology doubles everytime. If it miss it starts over from 1. So just save between every hit if you want to see some real big numbers. Then restart if it misses.
Yes quickenings can in theory deal way more than 131,072 dmg. I do wonder how many combos you need with them though and if it is even possible without a cheatdevice.
flak76e 2 years ago
if you have used the Dustia method you would have been at level 64 at about 23 hours. You are at about 21% at level 99. So I would estimate that you reach level 99 when your gameclock is 220h.
flak76e 2 years ago
Do the math. 13.7 million exp is needed for level 99. I've got about 3 million meaning 10.7 million remains. At 3400 exp per minute (from taking down a dive talon in 2 hits consistently, instead of the 3 shown here), that's about 200,000 exp an hour. 10.7 million means about 54 more hours are needed. With the need to save and set up again, it's doable by 100 hours of game play this way, not 220.
ulillillia 2 years ago
You have a PS2 again? This means you absolutely MUST acquire Final Fantasy X!!
razmazter 2 years ago
I bet he'll love the extended damage limit to 99,999.
OnyonKnight 2 years ago
If you're referring to FF10, I have (it's my sister's), but got stuck at that blitzball game - it's so hard! My Tidus, at that point, has sphere level 7 (reached in Kilika Woods). It's either I sacrifice learning abilities and move on for stat growth, or, I just save up on the sphere levels and wait for the ability spheres to be dropped by enemies. If only I could get past that blitzball event.... If you're referring to FF11, then there's no chance I'll play it - it's online-based.
ulillillia 2 years ago
X in roman numerals is 10, so yeah I mean Final Fantasy 10.
Ahh so you're in Luca eh? Well you know you don't have to beat it. It can be pretty difficult this early. In fact that game is pretty much based on stats rather than skill so it is very difficult.
I'd advise you to spend the first round passing the ball from your teammates to another to increase their level and DO NOT let the Goers score. Then in the second round try your hardest to score once, and then stall the rest of the game.
razmazter 2 years ago
I saw two other marks after the X so I couldn't tell if you referring to FF10 (if there are two exclamation points) or FF11 (if there is 1 instead). It's this that lead to the confusion. I know Roman Numerals very well - try representing the limit of a 32-bit unsigned integer in Roman Numerals.... I can't do that in a comment because there's no double overline support. I thought you had to win that game, given how the story is. I got close once, having a 1-2 score, but Graav foiled it....
ulillillia 2 years ago
Oh I forgot about those exclamation points. My bad.
No you don't have to. You get a very minor reward, that might be a little useful now but you can get as many as you want later on.
Also when you leave Luca there will be a monster whom will drop Ability Spheres so you don't have to worry.
razmazter 2 years ago
Now that I'm involved with FF12 again, FF10 will have to wait. Hopefully I can remember that you don't have to win that tournament (the story seems to hint that you have to). Now, is there a way to get it so that those battle tactic reminders stop or go away? For example, have Yuna attack "thunder element" (for 11 damage), and the others keep stating "let us guardians handle the likes of these". By at least acting, you get AP so I make Yuna do this just for the AP (and AP isn't split).
ulillillia 2 years ago
Oh that will still happen for a bit, if you mean that they speak at the beginning of each battle. When you get closer to the late-half of the game it eventually stops.
razmazter 2 years ago
Not upon starting a battle, that's fine. Have Yuna attack "thunder element" once during the first visit to Kilika Woods and you'll see the HP/MP stuff disappear with text and speech occurring, stating "let us guardians handle the likes of these".
ulillillia 2 years ago
Oh damn. Sorry i forgot to tell you that it wasn't required to win. I absolutely forgot! Terribly Sorry.
XXXMASTERISEXXX 2 years ago
Going behind your goals will make the other team swim in circles. This can be used as an advantage, if you are having trouble with blitzball...
XXXMASTERISEXXX 2 years ago
@XXXMASTER - That along with leveling up your teammates in the first half so that you can score in the second half.
@Ulillillia - Oh that's because when you do things like that, that are recommended to be done by other characters (I.E. Attack an Elemental with Physical when it's better to kill it with opposing magic) they'll say that. If Tidus attacks a flying monster and misses, Wakka will say (if he's out, otherwise someone else will say) leave it to me (Wakka).
Things like that.
razmazter 2 years ago
@razmazter - but, how do you stop this speech from happening. Let's say I have Yuna, Tidus, and Lulu in the party. I have a flying enemy and one of those elemental enemies. Tidus goes first. There's nothing dedicated for him so I attack the flying bee - it misses and the speech occurs. Yuna is next but no one needs HP restored. I have Yuna attack the elemental, for 10 damage, and more speech occurs. Lulu attacks the elemental and removes it. The enemy goes then Tidus. You get the idea.
ulillillia 2 years ago
Sadly, you can't stop it. Every enemy has their strengths and weaknesses and that's what they really want to push on you. Do you know how to switch party members in battle?
That dialogue I think ends not too long after Luca.
razmazter 2 years ago 2
Yes, I know how to switch party members in battle, it's L1 (or L2, not sure which). I just use the 3 that suits my battle methods.

It kinda seems like the wolves are actually slowing you down. The time you spend in the menu attacking them could probably be better spent fighting the stronger enemies.
MrWeirdGuy 2 years ago
you still get 1LP from them... which is still a decent amount so early on
velocityeleven 2 years ago
Do the math. On average, I get about 2900 to 3100 exp per minute - let's call it 3000. That's 50 exp per second. Wolves give 16 or 18 exp here. Unless I can go through 3 wolves a second, they slow you down. Once I can consistently take down a dive talon in 2 hits, then I'll have another 10 or so seconds taken away from this which means about 3400 exp a minute. It takes 524,000-some exp for the final level so it would take about 2 1/2 hours to get, as stated in the video description.
ulillillia 2 years ago
jeez you're doing a LOT of damage there
ribbon98 2 years ago
I wonder if quickenings can do more than 99,999 damage. I've only had 35,000 as the maximum. A 25-hit combo of nothing but red spiral at level 80 or something is about the best. The video shows the quickening doing 16,000, which is about half my record (it's actually 32,469, now that I checked my notes). I'd love to see 6-figure damage in FF.

SAHousemaster 2 years ago
Wolves make for cheap, effortless LP ya know....
ulillillia 2 years ago
1. quickenings damage have a very large random factor to it
2. you should've used the dustia method
3. in Disgaea games you can eventually do billions of damage
velocityeleven 2 years ago
Can you just imagine Ulillillia working towards not just max level in Disgaea, but max stats? That would be incredible to see.
Jerails 2 years ago
all stats can be maxed, but Im not sure how far HP goes... at least 9,999,999,999 I think
velocityeleven 2 years ago
I hardly have any idea what Disgaea is even like, outside it probably being like FFT (the tactical part).
ulillillia 2 years ago
it works on a grid-based system, but it's very different from other tactics games where grinding is negligable... Disgaea games are all about helping you to grind massively... (max level = 9999)
velocityeleven 2 years ago
You should try my 2D RPG. It's not tactical, rather, it's the traditional kind, roam around on a world map or in caves and encounter random enemies. There are no limits for leveling - go for 100,000, if you can spend the centuries it takes to do that....
ulillillia 2 years ago
I like it when games have limits that are beyond reasonable reach
velocityeleven 2 years ago
Then you'd like the games I make. Platform Master's max score is 9 2/9 quintillion, but unless you've got 2000 years available for nonstop play, don't bother reaching it....

ulillillia 2 years ago
oh HECK YES
*pumps fist*
RealeloH 2 years ago
I've seen the randomization quickenings have - 36 for red spiral one time, 3000 the next. With several quickening hits, however, it averages out quite well. Having 20% HP remaining (or whatever that amount was) is too risky, even with my 4000 HP I have. The strategy guide I have (of which I practically never use) shows dustia giving only 1100 exp, hardly anything to a single 2000 exp dive talon. I have yet to get and see disgaea though.
ulillillia 2 years ago
dustia is useful for when you're just starting out as you can kill them with a pheonix down and dont need quickenings, plus if you zone-out fast enough they'll re-spawn
velocityeleven 2 years ago
What do you mean by "zone out"? Do you mean getting 2 zones away to get all enemies to respawn (as I've explained in the video), or simply entering another zone (any zone) then returning? I use phoenix downs whenever I encounter the "Fideliant" enemy.
ulillillia 2 years ago
by "zone out" I mean zoning once... it works if you do it within a second or 2 after killing it
velocityeleven 2 years ago
Ah, get the rod in the estersand area (the one with "naze" in it, just before you get to the river and urstrix and the related are fairly easy to defeat, even at level 10. 263 exp is quite decent, plus, there's less risk at that kind of level. I really don't see much point in dustia. If it was 2500 exp, it would be better, but it's not.
ulillillia 2 years ago
