I thought the BS syndrome was an ONI cover up. I thought the reason he survived the flood was because of Project Orion. The precurser to the Spartan Program. No, he is not a "Spartan-I" There is no such title and I hate when people say that. Spartans are trained from young ages. He was just genetically enhanced.

So Possibly a lot of space jumping has allowed longer life spans.
