  • That animal should be living in the wild.

  • @Gourmay Yes, it should. Unfortunately they are becoming fragmented in the wild due to habitat degradation and hunting. So they are in captivity to study and breed so there is a captive population in case the wild one goes extinct and they can be re-introduced. You see, that's what zoo's do. What have you done to protect the animals of the world besides whine on my youtube channel?

  • @hedorah99 Yes that is what some zoos do, are you a zoo? Are you a zoologist? Conservationist? Because if not, the point is moot. Doubt it anyhow as you wouldn't feel the need to reply so aggressively. Funny that you should mention it, I support a charity called Big Cat Rescue who rescue wild cats from private owners like yourselves who keep them locked in basements with concrete floors... Too bad they would never be able to rescue this poor animal you keep as it isn't feline.

  • @Gourmay Yea, that's the holding room to the 1 acre enclosure that the wolf goes into so we can clean safely and the animal has, god forbid, shelter from the elements. And yes, I work for a zoo that is AZA accredited and federally inspected. The Maned Wolf in the video lives there and is not my pet, unlike the animals at Big Cat Rescue. By the way, I used to volunteer there, although it was Wildlife on Easy St at the time.

  • @hedorah99 Great then, where can we see the rest of the enclosure or read about the conservation work your zoo is doing? Oh and I suggest you do further research on Big Cat Rescue, they are no one's pet, have the best enclosures I have ever seen (from European zoos to San Diego) and are supporting incredible actions for cases like Tony the tiger at the truck stop.

  • @Gourmay In case you missed the part where I said I WORKED at Big Cat, I worked there. I am not gonna trash talk, but I saw my fair share of good and bad there. I understand the rescue thing, but they are Carol's pets. Is Raindance still alive, by the way? I am guessing not, it's been a while. If you would like to see the rest of the enclosure, visit me at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT. You can see the endangered newts I am breeding as well.

  • @hedorah99 Again, I fail to see the need for such aggression in your replies. I don't know the inner workings of Big Cat Rescue but no one can deny that their actions are incredible and needed (I suggest you checkout their bobcat rehabilitation videos); these cats are better off at Big Cat than in concrete basements. Unfortunately due to the lack of description on your video, it encourages people to think such animals can be kept captive, a point which BCR always refutes. If you are serious abou

  • @Gourmay t conservation, I suggest you include that maned wolves should not be kept as pets in your video description and that you work for a zoo before it becomes the next trend.

  • @Gourmay

Common sense dictates that no one older than a young child would ever try to keep a wild animal as a pet. Granted there are people who would, but seeing a video with an enclosure such as this (obviously recognizable as an enclosure, by the way, I see no couches, tvs or other backyard pets, nor any signs of this being a house) doesn't seem like it would spark the idea. If someone needs to be warned about keeping a wild animal as a pet, they obviously didn't learn much growing up.

  • @Gourmay Your an idiot. You can clearly tell this man is working in a zoo and that that's a zoo enclosure in the video. As for conservation issues; you're supporting a charity? T.T you realize that 9/10 of those organizations pocket 30% of that money, spend another 60 on advertising and and spending that measly 10% that's left over is usually spent on either lawyers or food depending on what the charity is directed towards. Go back to protest on wall street dunce =_=.

  • Where is that?

    Aguara´s are from Argentina.

  • It's at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT USA.

  • She's not a DOG either!! xD lol

  • OSA OS!! haha was she with pete here?

  • 0:50 LOL BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cute!

  • You work with Maned Wolves? Lucky!

  • Just curious, how did you get her down?

  • She jumped down on her own a few seconds later.

  • I think, Kalaks (so called "Maned WOlves") likes to see from high places, because there anatomy makes it avaiable and also they scent mark high in there natural enviroument.

  • Just curious, why does she have to get down before you can go in?

  • While she is cute and lovable, she is still a wild animal and a carnivore. She has the capacity to be dangerous so the best precaution is to not be in the same room with her.

  • Oh, that makes sense. Very cute. I love that, "Setting a bad example for the other wolves" I get this mental image of them taking notes.

  • Nice video!

But maned wolves are not essentially carnivores, a large part of its diet (30-50%) is vegetal.

Especially the "wolf apple" Solanum lycocarpum fruit (used as natural vermifugal ) has much importance for the specie . No S. Lycocarpum means no maned wolves around.

Sorry about my english, im from Brazil.

  • Some dumb biologists even let some maned wolfs die in zoos, because they feed them only with meat... -_-

  • incase she jumps on him maybe a false attack or something.... but she probly wouldnt.

    just safety stuff proberly
