Action Marines are a good boat but not a "GREAT" boat. The absolute speed kings are Hydrostream HST's, they runs over 120 mph which there isn't an Action that I know of thats ever broken the 100 mph barrier. There is a list of Hydrosteams on their website all running 100+ with the world record Viking now running 115. You want absolute speed get a Hydrostream which is what these hulls originally were.
the 18 foot Action Marine formerly known as the Hydrostream Ventura II. Howard Pipcorn sold these molds when the the Vectors hit the water because they were a lot faster. The Vikings (which is what I have) were even faster than the Vectors were. I'm in the process of finishing mine, with a 200XS on a 12 inch gill bracket. Hydrostream says I'll be over 100 mph so I'll be posting a video with a GPS to varify.
No website they never made one, in fact i just heard tha bad news that they were not going to make these boats anymore. The orginal Owner doesn't want to do it anymore and nether does his son. So looks like Action Marine may be finished for good. Ashame!
@rftim29 I hate to inform you chief but the Action Marine hulls were originally built by Hydrostream back in the early 70's and called the Ventura and Ventura II. They were obsolete when the Vectors hit the water, that why Howard Pipcorn sold the molds. There are no Actions anywhere I know of going over 100 mph, there is countless Hydrostream all running 100+ with the fastest Viking running 115 and the fastest HST doing 130. They're a "GOOD" boat but not a "GREAT" boat.
@MasterWitchDoctor The original Action Marine 16 was based off the Hydrostream Ventura II. It is not a direct copy, there are significant differences. There are many 100+ Mile per hour Actions still on the water. Come to south Florida any weekend and you'll see plenty. The fastest one I've seen in person was a 16' powered by a heavily modified Merc 2.5. It ran over 120mph. I saw the radar gun and the GPS. Good luck with the rotten core on your Hydrostream.
