  • If you play multiplayer games on the stream, you should use 50-60%! (Just so people won't have to try and adjust that much) :)

  • is it possible to stream from your laptop ?

  • @marcaaron28 Why wouldn't it be? :P Laptops are generally weaker in performance than PCs however, and overheating may become an issue.

  • hey i tested my connection to new sealand (for me the other side of the world) and i got 2.20 upload speed so how many kps should i use

  • @ZhugoZ2 75% of that speed or lower, as the video suggests.

  • how to i pick cHanal?

  • @noobman300 Type in your account name.

  • @kur1gaming basicly what i do it i type in user and pass but i cant select a chanal... how do i make one?

  • Huh. Somebody disliked. What an ass. Very informative. I've been having audio problems, and this will definitely help me out. Thanks!

  • @BofusTeefus Glad it helped! It seems XSplit changed up its audio codecs in an update since I made this, but everything still applies really.

  • god damn what internet do you have and how much does it cost?!?!?!?!

  • @Leonelfreak Fiber Optic internet here in Japan, and about $50 a month? :P

  • Hey. im trying to stream on twitch.tv using Xsplit. I have finally gotten it to work, but as soon as I start Xsplit, my computer starts lagging and I can hardly play cause of it. Do you think its because of my internet or is it cause my computer is to weak?

I've set Quality at 5 and VBV Max Bitrate at 450, and it didnt help. Any suggestions?

  • @simonmansson What resolution are you trying to stream at? 450 bitrate upload is very low and will probably struggle even at 480p (no matter the Quality). You need to up the bitrate or deal with very low-quality settings.

  • How Do I Increase Game Volume !

  • @xJustJackFTW System volume or speaker bar on XSplit.

  • Comment removed

  • How do you have such a high UPLOAD speed? I really want to have something like that. Currently my Download is 15.97 Mbps and my Upload is 1.27. Can I stream with this??

  • @TheArow90 Living in Japan with fiber optic internet helps my net speeds. ;P You can definitely stream with that upload- it's just not going to be super mega quality. Aim for low-quality 720p or high quality 480p.

  • @kur1gaming Oh okay thanks! So to make my quality better, improve my internet?

  • @TheArow90 Well, streaming is literally taking a video and pumping data out of your house to a server, then to everyone else. If your net can't handle the data pump, the quality needs to decrease. Hence you either need a mega-CPU to compress the image size greatly, or massive internet speeds to handle the bandwidth.

  • i got a question m8 , why the fuck doesnt my channel pup up when i write my username and these things pls help was ... i have like seen around 200000 videos about this but no one explains what to do

  • @imREQLIM It's either a botched installation, out-of-date JTV plugin in XSplit, JTV's servers not pinging back when requested (most likely the case), or you mistyped your account name.

  • The red arrows that you use in the video and others, how is that done?

  • @jordann9ne Different editing program. Camtasia.

  • i was wondering, is there a way to record other people who you are talking to over skype or vent or something? there are times i would like to have more then just me when i record videos and to record people over the internet is really my only option for now. know of a way to do this?

  • @adam74251 XSplit captures all PC audio. Should be fine. But note it'll capture everything- game sounds, music playing, and Skype.

  • When I try to record gameplay for recording, my xsplit doesn't run at the same speed as my game, causing the stream to be slower and slower, and I can end a game and watch the middle of my game on my stream.

  • @xiGraphic Can't say I'm following this issue. What software do you use to record? What's your VBV Buffer (not Max Bitrate)? How many seconds/minutes behind is the stream?

  • @kur1gaming I'm using an HD PVR to record straight to xsplit and to Twitch. Basically, when I start, it will be five or ten seconds behind, and by the end of the game, it will be 3 - 5 minutes behind.

  • @xiGraphic Sounds like latency caused by the HD PVR. Sadly, I have 0 experience with this. Best bet is to post on XSplit's forums or ask Towelliee / someone with PVR recording experience!

  • اللي جاي من ابراهيم لايك

اول مرة اقول لايك للمعلومية فقط

  • @a7medyes ???

  • You made this very clear and easy to understand. Thanks man

  • @BIackoutzz Glad you found it helpful! If anything's fuzzy (or not in the video), ask away.

  • It won't link my Twitch.tv account, with everything being correct.

  • @xiGraphic JTV server error or typed it wrong.

  • @kur1gaming Account needs to be verified :P

  • CAN SOME ONE HELP ME?

Im live streaming with MW3 on Ps3 How do i get the stream so they can hear me speaking to people in the lobby!!!??

  • @STR33TK1LLN Just make sure the proper settings are done in your capture card. I don't do console stuff, however. Better to ask a console gamer.

  • So when i stream its fine but my audio sounds weird and it lags when watching, like its fine then lag around every 5 seconds...please help :(

  • @shawnnabeziz I don't work for XSplit... so I can't really offer any suggestions. Make sure you don't have any programs that would interfere with audio (Virtual Audio Cables etc.), and in the worst case send audio/video through the same channel in the channel settings. Good luck.

  • i cant choose a channel???? Plz help

  • @Sorrovvz Did you make a channel? Do you have a Twitch/Justin account? Did you type it in wrong? If you did the 3 previous things correctly, might be a bug or a server problem with JTV.

  • @Sorrovvz I have the same problem. Let me know if you figured it out. :)

  • holy crap this tutorial is amazing thanks alot!

  • @TheLoLTeacher Happy to help! If you have questions, make sure to scan the comments below.

  • @kur1gaming i have a 16:10 ratio monitor (1440x900) and when i steam i get borders on the top, bottom, left and right btw i use the 720p res to stream as said in the video. how would i get rid of the borders? or what res should i use? Thank you in advanced.

  • @TheLoLTeacher Try to use a 16:10 resolution when streaming instead of my suggested ones. Common resolutions are 16:9, so I based the tutorial on that. Should solve the issue I think? Otherwise, Twitch just works around 16:9 ratios only. :(

  • Omg thanks man u hav helped a lot now 2 stream tomorrow :D

  • hey i was wondering if u could help me - should i do that thing u do with world of warcraft to my heroes of newerth, when i stream that?

  • @JakFooO What thing do I do? Streaming works the same across all games, barring a few exceptions. Never use fullscreen.

  • @kur1gaming u do that thing with dxtory video 1 and dxtory video 1 where u can see the game on your "xsplit mirror" are u supposed to do that with heroes of newerth? if i was supposed to stream that.

  • THUMBS UP EVERYONE THIS GUYS A GENIUS :D

  • All i need to know is how to have the footage to upload to youtube

  • @ModernTajio Check my Dxtory Recording tutorial on my channel. Don't really recommend exporting stream footage from JTV videos- quality is lacking.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi, I have a question. How can I set that to see just a game? It bothers me when I write to someone on Skype and they see it. How do I do please?

  • @Parek228 Go check out my Dxtory Tutorial (for Streaming) for a program that does just this. Otherwise you need to have a dual-monitor setup.

  • I can't choose a channel, it remains empty. I noticed yours automatically fills that in with your username.. It doesn't do that for me.. What do I do?

  • @Alkazardt Account not enabled with JTV? No connection to the net when attempting this? Servers down on JTV's end? It should be automatic.

  • My xsplit just shows DXtory when i start it. in the preview anyway

  • Hey, when im live streaming and i say something...it keeps on repeating that same word after like 5 seconds for example i say Whats up, it will keep on repeating it over and over

If you know how to fix then pm me thanks.

  • @FurryWallGames Make sure you don't have your stream on in the background. Otherwise, something's repeating your mic audio. Good luck finding the source!

  • OK I got a good CPU 3.1 ghz and 3.50 upload speed but every time I stream its delayed any tips on how to fix that?

  • @firebot779 Delayed = not instant? All streams are lagged. It takes time to send the data, process/compress, and output to viewer screens.

  • @kur1gaming ok its like its not in sync when I talk usely it takes around 10 to 15 secs before the stream gets the same sound thats what I mean by delayed

  • @firebot779 Ahhh. Are you running Virtual Audio Cables or any software that filters sound between your input (mic/speakers) and XSplit? If so, that might be the cause.

Alternatively, try to make sure there's no audio delay input in the settings. Finally if that doesn't work, check the box in the settings tab telling to to integrate audio and video when streaming.

  • @kur1gaming there no easy way to explain it usely its a delay were lets say I play COD and the match ended but the stream gets that match ended thing 15 secs after I got it

  • @firebot779 Yeah, that's how streaming works. It's not instant. The data compression / sending takes time.

  • @kur1gaming usely with other people who do that there stuff is in sync do I just gotta wait it out?

  • @firebot779 The only setting I can think of that would contribute to lagging your output is the buffer. Try making that zero. It'll affect performance, but maybe will reduce stream lag. In streaming though, the stream video will always be behind what you're really doing.

  • I need a new prossecor because xsplit its self makes me lag it sucks

  • @hidskaterryder720 Check out my tutorials on Dxtory. Trial the software and see if it smooths things out.

  • @kur1gaming you knwo what i will thank you

  • Hi, is it possible to stream WOW and when i TAB out to lets say Google chrome (internet) and browse, that the stream still shows WOW (the game). And not what im browsing on the internet. So the viewrs still watching wow but im watching the net ? :)

  • @Jaskoo90 You need a program like Dxtory (see my other tutorials).

  • Nice man ty :D

  • Also towards the start you mentioned that the resolution would depend on connection, but from what I've read elsewhere it's more dependent on the CPU? If I have an outdated dual core (athlon 64 X2 6000+) what settings would I need to skimp on to keep the CPU stress down? My upload is 3.5 so should be okay there.

  • @alphaguitar2 It's kinda a factor of both, but you're right, it's more on the CPU. Either way, it depends on you moreso than the game / program / etc. Try doing 720p streaming with a superfast/Default Preset with quality settings set to max and using the 75% rule (don't exeed 2400kbps). Adjust based around that.

  • Around 5 minutes u start talking about the preset and at first you say that the faster settings are for people with good internet but the lower ones allow you to have your CPU make up for internet slack like if you have a slow connection. I have a bad CPU but pretty fast internet (20-30 DL depending on time of day and 3.5 solid UL) so I thought great I'll tweak this. But then afterwards you say that one of the fast-ish settings is for CPU being good but internet not so good. So which is it?

  • @alphaguitar2 Sorry for any confusion! Basically, bad CPU = your PC can't handle a lot of stress. The lower your Preset, the more stress you put on your PC, since it's compressing the images significantly. Higher Presets just send images out with less compression, but because they're less compressed they require higher bandwidth. Make sense?

I meant that The faster / fast stresses even my high-end CPU. Lower than that and I start chugging and seeing choppiness. Make sense?

  • hey, do you know what should my VBV Max Bitrate and VBV Buffer be? i have 20.96 down and 4.13 up.

  • @lanni3lanlannie Somebody didn't watch the video, as it explains these thing specifically within. :P

  • Hey bro!

You know how to get rid of the freaking "Certificate error" in the "add more" of stream hosters

  • @skrigeren1 Certificate error probably means outdated IE version or IE security set too high. Otherwise, pop on XSplit forums and ask.

  • When my friends gonna watch my screen its all black whY? ;(

  • @ZtKClan having the same issue trying to figure it out. i'll let you know if I figure anything out.

  • @ZtKClan Need more detail than that to help.

  • If i have 18,59 upload mbit per second what could i use ?

  • @ZtKClan Less than 2500kbps, but more than 1100kbps

  • i have 5upload and 30 down. X4 955 CPU @ 3.8

    SETTINGS?

  • @Hoztag3 VIDEO?

  • When I start it up, it makes me go into windows basic, how can i stop this?

  • @ILoams Probably have something set to auto-execute XSplit's install files in BASIC. Try to make sure that's off. It does open a command prompt to finish the install.

  • I have I7 2600 3.4 ghz what preset would you recommand for me?

  • @kwazzz100 The one in the video, as I have the same PC (albeit overclocked). :P

  • @kwazzz100 Use my tips in the video and play with settings till something works. There's no single perfect setting.

  • @kur1gaming ok man thanks

  • My webcam isn't showing up on my list of microphones. I'm on my laptop Alienware M11x and I use a Turtle Beach x11 Headset. It only shows my laptop mic. Help me? D:

  • @cPHyphon Sadly, I am not Alienware Laptop Support. :P That's a question for XSplit forums. My assumption is either your webcam mic isn't identified by Windows to begin with (disabled or something), or that you started XSplit after inserting the webcam.

  • @cPHyphon *after=before

  • do you play Minecraft on a Steam server by chance? (Kurl15?)

  • @Pure4Kicks Negatory. No time for Minecraft fiddlin' these days :(

  • I have a Black Edition 965 3.4 ghz and I get 36 meg internet. what preset should I use super fast ?

  • @Pure4Kicks Preset depends on your system/internet upload speed. Based on what you said, superfast should do fine. Just test it out.

  • I only have 1 mbit upload, (living in Sweden, abit outside the "town") well i got like 30mbit down and 1 mbit up.. So do that means I won't be able 2 stream @ like 720 n stuff..

Cus in the video u say "if u have like 2 or 1.5 go lower"

  • @MrPeerka You'd be correct. You'd only be able to really utilize 750kbps for streaming as per my 75% rule. That leaves 250kbps for any other upload activity (the game, Ventrilo, etc.), and 750kbps for sound AND video. Not much data rate to work with. 720p might even be a struggle unless your PC's beast.

    Try upgrading your internet plan?

  • @kur1gaming Well my comp is very good tbh.. and i tryed some HoN with 720 and on the highest graphic, like no delay just a littlebit sometimes, but not much.

  • @MrPeerka Then if your PC is adequate, it's likely your internet connection. Try decreasing the resolution and bitrate till you have something you can see somewhat clearly, while not crushing your internet.

Also play around with different J.TV servers.

  • Thanks you very much. I having so many problems with Xsplit but you helped more than their forums ever did!

  • @Grommot Glad it helped! It's not a perfect guide, but it should be a stepping stone to understanding the basic settings. Streaming's really only for those who enjoy tinkering. :P

  • what location should i take.. if no one of them is where im living ???

  • @mekon115 Closest to wherever you're at. Break out Google Maps.

  • It says my twitch tv account is converted

  • @JoelhasTekkers Is that good or bad? :P

  • @kur1gaming i meant isnt converted

  • @JoelhasTekkers I'm still not sure if this is a problem for you or not. Being a little vague with details, man.

  • My audio isn't giving me any other options besides 16.000 KHz 16 bit mono, any ideas?

  • @Cydiaah No idea. Reinstall or ask XSplit support.

  • @Cydiaah look if u have on mp3 or speex codec... change to mp3

  • When i type username and password its cant find my channel

  • @1stultimategamer Probably typing in the wrong info. Contact XSplit for more info.

  • Kur My Stream Often Lags pauses then stops is their anything i should do to stop this??

  • @CatzFuriousSpeed Bitrate's too high most likely.

  • @kur1gaming Does your hard drive have anything to deal with streaming? I have a brand new custom computer, except the harddrive is 10 years old. Is this a possible reason why i'm getting lag while streaming?

  • @tehdumaznboy HDD should only affect game read speed (which means you'd lag off-stream) and recording. Sounds like your settings are borked. Lower bitrate, try again.

  • my livestream goes pretty nice but suddenly stops in a sec or two. Whats wrong??

  • @catokul No clue. You're not giving me much to work with. :P Probably too high of a bitrate set.

  • Thanks for posting this. I am up and running and streaming my SC2 games thanks to you using Dxtory, XSplit, and Twitch! But not only are my streams playing live, all of my streams are being recorded and saved on Twitch. How do I stop this? Also if I do choose to keep this how do I associate a screen shot to my posted videos. Thanks again, This was great.

  • @FiveCardArmy That's just how Twitch works. Do you not want your videos saved on Twitch? I believe there's a setting you can uncheck on the website if you search around. Congrats on getting it all working!

  • How do I get the MP3 codec for xsplit?

  • @TheSuperHuntard Wish I knew. I never had it not say MP3. Maybe you're missing a codec. Ask XSplit for support if you can't figure out how to get it! :D

  • Kur1-san .. love the vids ;p

  • my download speed is 29 but my upload speed is 7 o.O I have a feeling that is pretty terrible.

  • @dolerbom That's actually pretty awesome.

  • Quick question, when I go into xsplit it makes me go into windows basic, how can I fix this?

  • @ILoams Probably don't have some necessary program installed. Check with XSplit. Might be .NET, might be having a bad setting that forces it to open BASIC window, or something else.

  • Great video, always wanted one with so much detail. Also wondering what you are in Japan for? Or were you born there?

  • @ILoams Glad it helped! Nope, I just work here for now (hopefully long-term)!

  • My only problem is in the audio i don't have the option for MP3 Codec?

  • @DevianGeliuS What do you have instead? Does it still transmit audio?

  • @kur1gaming I have two options AAC LC and Speex using AAC codec the sounds repeat over and over not sure why.

  • @DevianGeliuS Try Speex. Failing that, try to post on XSplit forums asking why MP3's unavailable.

  • when i try to log into xsplit on the browser it says you gotta be online to log into xsplit and im online on the site already what do i do reply ASAP :D

  • @k4098 No idea! Gotta ask XSplit on that one. Also make sure to refresh the page and log in again. Failing that, e-mail their support team.

  • kur1 how did u get a moving pic into the stream i put in a pic and it goes all fuzzy and lined and doesent show

  • @CatzFuriousSpeed I just inserted a media file, then chose a GIF. Should work. If not, ask XSplit on their forums.

  • I have a problem..my screen res is 1600x900 an i set it to that..but when i do the live stream is like just the very left corner of my screen..and when i shrink it down the video rees gets reallllly crappy and i also have thick top and bottom borders...i dont know why and need some help

  • Good tutorial !

  • how come I have black borders on the stream? I want the picture to be in full screen. How do you do this?

  • @pbirmingham1988 Pull the image to fill the screen. If you can't, your resolution doesn't match your stream resolution and you'll need to deal with the black borders. (i.e. 4:3 is a square, 16:9 is a rectangle- a square + rectangle results in black borders)

  • @kur1gaming how do i do pull the image to fill the screen?

  • @pbirmingham1988 It's demonstrated in the video above. You pull the image like you're sizing up any other window (from the corner).

  • @kur1gaming thanks bro. btw i was winkzzz in your channel earlier when u were playing bf3. gg n thx

  • I Need Kinda help when i click on Channel: nothing happends for me its just a transparent so what to do ?

  • @ctuhajj Shouldn't be transparent. At worst you'll have nothing there. Contact XSplit via forums if a reinstall doesn't fix it.

  • Hey, Im having trouble. Whenever I type in my Username for Twitch it never appears for the channel part. please help

  • @MrLittlejerry My only assumption is JTV/Twitch's servers are down and not pingable by XSplit, your typed username is incorrect, or you need to re-install XSplit. Sorry I can't be more help- something to post on XSplit's forums if it persists.

  • Hey, I am having an annoying issue with my Screen. It looks like you are facing a mirror into another one and it fades all the way down (repeating the picture) Like for example, I want my screen to get like yours a 15:26. How do I get it to look like that? Respond to this if you can please. THanks and awesome video!

  • @Dzcg488 You don't really want that screen. Not great for streaming. :P Basically it's capturing your desktop, which has XSplit (which captures your desktop and outputs the image), and then does that to infinity. Thus, open XSplit so it's visible while capturing your desktop and you'll get the infinite screen effect.

  • @kur1gaming Yes, that is exactly what I am experiencing. How do I fix this?

  • @Dzcg488 Don't have XSplit visible? Or get Dxtory (see related tutorial vids on my channel). That allows you to have XSplit visible without the picture-in-picture.

  • also how to i get my voice over my game on flash media encoder please do a tutorial on that

  • please can you help me i cant get the black magic intensity pro to work its a black screen ? thanks

  • @JaYCoBStudio Sorry man, never interfaced a console to XSplit before. Try looking at ConsoleCrusader's tutorial on his channel.

  • NIce Video!
