  • How do you clean the containers/tools you had the lye mixtures in, so you don't get lye burns?

  • @angelzenaide25 You might depending on the temperature of where you are working. It's good to check on your soap just to make sure it isn't overheating or under insulated when you are first getting a feel for soapmaking.

  • How would I cut if using ur mold that holds 40oz soap? Ur help would be appreciated. I'm ready to try faux funnel pour. Haha

  • what is oive oil

  • What can I substitute Sweet Almond Oil with? Could I use Jojoba?

  • @lolwatlolwatlol Yes, you could - or Canola or Olive oil would work as well. Just make sure that anytime you change a recipe you run it through a lye calculator to make sure you are using the correct amount of lye.

  • I Love your videos!!!

  • @TheDanishnails They are so fun =)

  • Can this be done with M&P? Who knew soapmaking could so FUN!

  • @Finallyification It can be done with MP but the colors really blend together and don't stay in distinct lines but it still makes an interesting look =)

  • it looks like a colume swirl

  • @mylittleredpanda It's a very similar concept to a column swirl/technique - just with a slightly different implement (funnel versus block).

  • what can I do with soap leftover- already used soap?..maybe i can do smth with it or maybe not.. any ideas?

  • @Elgita2 You could try rebatching it - there's a video on this channel that shows how to rebatch soap. Keep in mind if this is hard hotel soap that you'll need more moisture (6 - 8 times probably) than what we recommend in the video. This is because hotel soap is lacking in the moisture (literally, it's just more dry) that homemade rebatch soap has.

  • You always inspire me Anne Marie, thank you! I'm going to make funnel soap right now!

  • @wskizas Aw, thanks for the love! I hope your funnel soap turned out great!

  • You look great! I am going to try this! Thank you!

  • @Mrssoappeddler Thanks! I'm finally back to pre-baby weight =) And, I hope your funnel soap turned out great!

  • I love soap queen tv! And I love the videos!

  • @99mariskay Thank you! We love making the videos =)

  • OMG that laugh at the end, lol. The soap is so pretty, I really really want one :(

  • @Nadesiko85 They're up at the Soap Queen Lab on Etsy if you want to examine one up close and get a written project sheet. =)

  • @Nadesiko85 We just put the soap up on the Soap Queen Lab shop on Etsy if you really want to see one in person and get inspired to make a batch =)

  • wow your back, YAAAA!!!

    looks great.

ok this might be a noob question but where do you find 91% Al?

  • @twopearlsoaps Great question. 91% alcohol is normally in the pharmacy section of most major grocery stores or large pharmacies.

  • The color of you hair is MUCH better now!!!... Congrat's!

  • @mreinstein48 He he! I totally agree. That dark, short haircut was a wild hair (literally!) that I'm glad I got out of my system. It wasn't my favorite look either.

  • I MISS YOU D:

  • @BlueStarberryAKTF Aw thanks! I'm so glad you liked the video!

  • love the video...

  • @mojuta1 Yay! Thanks for watching it.

  • you look so annoyed.

  • @DiamondsForever2496 I'm probably just concentrating really hard. The technique requires planning and precision but really, I swear, even with that, I'm having fun =)

  • I got so excited when I saw that you uploaded a new video! I've been checking everyday!!!!

  • @natalytea Awww, you are so sweet! We work on shooting, editing and releasing about 12-15 per year but sometimes, it does seem like a long time in between videos - especially for something as fun as soap!

  • Does the alcohol stay in the soap?

  • @7eloua Great question - it does not. The alcohol evaporates out and you cannot smell it after 4-6 hours after it's been sprayed.

  • Where do I get Oive Oil?

  • @nagaempress It's likely a typo I think what they meant was OLIVE oil you can try any supermarket I think they all stock it because people cook their food with it. = )

  • @GiselleM713 Oh that's true! Typo! I hate that ... =)

  • @nagaempress You can buy it at a grocery store, Sam's Club, Costco or online at Bramble Berry. It's just normal, plain Olive Oil - and buying Extra Virgin doesn't get you anything extra with soap so Pomace grade is just fine for Olive Oil for soap.

  • yay purple

  • I love watching these videos! I always put another feather in my cap after watching them. I just ordered three of the colorants used in this video Monday and now I'm super excited to receive my order from Brambleberry. I'm a newbie but highly impressed with their prices and service. Less than 2 months into soapmaking and I'm just placed my third order with them......Thanks Anne Marie for all you do to help out the newbies!!!

  • @Susdenfann Wow, thank you for your super kind words! I am so thankful to have people to share my soapmaking hobby (erm ... addiction?) and hopefully inspire new soapers. I'm so happy that you enjoy the videos. Let me know if I can be of any help in your soapmaking journey!

  • Oh and where did u get your whisks, gloves, glasses their so pretty!!!

  • @3000Crystal Gloves, I got on one of those flash shopping sites but they are Laura Ashley (which Macys carries), whisks were Fred Meyers and Goggles are at Bramble Berry (online). I'm a girly girl - love my pink!

  • Oooo you changed your colors to purple!!!

  • @3000Crystal Fun huh? It was time for a change and I like it!

  • Yay! We've missed ya. You look fantastic! Great tip on how to cut. Take care;*

  • @sunshyneNrainxx Thanks! The horizontal cut takes a little getting used to but I think it's worth it.

  • I love your videos. Thayer are very informative and fun. I love watching them all, but please make cold process soap tutorials as often as possible because they are the most confusing for me. How do you get things like those hearts that look swirled. I really am interested. Melt and pour can be con fussing, but I am most interested in cold process, because it is the least self explanatory. Thank you.

  • @AllyIsLovable The secret to getting your batches as perfect as mine look? Practice, practice, and practice. I've been making soap since I was 16 (!!!) so I've made a lot of batches (some successful and not so successful) so just keep trying and let me know how I can help.

  • whats the weird sound at 5:22??

  • @XxZera I can't imagine unless it's the tape on the funnel getting knocked and making a small ripping sound? Good ears!

  • holy cow, looks like you found the fountain of youth !! thanks for the air bubble tips, that was perfect timing for me. Just made soap with your Tangerine Wow colorant and 10X Orange Essential oil and they are great!

  • @kevp951 Aren't you sweet? The secret is that my newborn started sleeping 5 hour stretches a few weeks before this video was shot. Now, he's doing 6 and even 7 hour shots at a time and I'm in heaven!

I agree, that Orange 10X is awesome! It's so hard to get a natural orange that lasts in CP soap so I'm a fan too!

  • i just tried my first batch of this it is awsom

  • @americangirls101ful Thanks for the positive report =)

  • Your new hair color really brightens up your face.:)

  • @DemeterSearches Thank you! I like it a lot more too. But I'm sure in a few years, I'll forget the dreadful dark color and short cut on myself and do something drastic again. =)

  • WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

  • @shahodo I had a wonderful, sweet little baby boy so that definitely took away from some of our video shoots but I'm back, the baby is sleeping more and I can't wait to start planning out 2012 shoots =)

  • Wow... that cutting technique is awesome! I have been planning my first funnel swirl for the past week or so and this video has come at the most convenient time! I can't wait to try it :D Thanks so much, Anne-Marie!

  • @zzzzbmy The cutting technique is a bit of a mind wrap to figure out but once you do it, I love that each and every bar is beautiful and totally worth the work of doing a funnel technique. I hope your soap turned out amazing. =)

  • Comment removed

  • Great soap cutting tip. I have made funnel pour and I am going to make another one and cut it as you suggest. I'm so excited.

  • @kayorcee Yay! I would love to hear what you thought about the cut when you did that versus your original batch.

  • Thanks for the great tute! I'll be trying this soon. :o)

  • @TheCraftyGemini Awesome. I can't wait to hear what you think of the technique. =)

  • beautiful! :)

  • @vikkipie Thank you. The colors really made me happy =)

  • Long time no see.. Good to see you :-))))))))))

  • @HappyBubblesSoap Thank you! I am so happy to have people that missed me =) That makes me feel good!

  • why would you put lie in your soap if if could potencially burn your skin//

  • @TheCheeky02ful Well I don't think that lye actually burns your skin in solid soap form, I think that it just get especially hot when heated and can burn your skin just like any other hot liquid... but i could by wrong, correct me if i am! :)

  • @TheCheeky02ful Soap is the result of a chemical reaction between oils and lye. If all the measurements are done properly the end result of this chemical reaction is soap! This means that no lye remains in the finished product and is perfectly safe to use. Hope this helps you with your question.

  • @TheCheeky02ful That is a great question. Sodium Hydroxide, or Lye, is the only thing that can turn vegetable oils into an actual soap. So, just like driving a car, we take safety precautions to ensure that this chemical is treated with respect and our soap turns out great each time. @TheCheeky02ful is correct, there will be no more lye in the finished product and handmade soap is a wonderful, affordable luxury for your skin. =)

  • cool soaps :D
