  • its all in my head i hear a woooooo wen the go in and a phssstt when they go out

  • sssssssssssssssssssssss bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sssssssssssssssssssssss bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Wanna know what I heard? I heard "hahhhhhh huhhhhhhh haahhhhhhh huhhhhhh" the sound of breathing in and out. I have numberical synesthesia, where I see dates and times in 3D landscapes and graphs and lines, as well as feeling based on musical notes and pitches.

  • Sounded like a really loud and high pitched noise with a "phweee, wooo, phweee, wooo" sound behind it:o

  • I can hear a very weak sound.

  • same as animaseverem comment

  • I hear a vague crackling noise

  • its not necessarily that i am hearing something, but that I, inside my head without thinking am going "eeeee" when the dots go in and "ahhh" when they go out

  • WHOA. that's so crazy.. i DID hear something! mine was something a bit like 'waiii - yewww - waiii - yewww,' said in a breathy robotic voice. very artificial-sounding. i often hear similar sounds with repeating back-and-forth motions in .gif animations. i'd like to replicate this in FL studio..

  • @MaxDecembre I heard the exact same thing

  • it sounds like breathing in when the dots go out and then out when the dots go in :) is this sound-grapheme synesthesia?

  • Sounds like Exploding and Imploding

  • to me it sounded like weeeee woooooo. like high pitch and low pitch. I think this ability improves my video gaminig skill alot cuz i hear when people pop up on the screen when i play cod haha Idk if im synesthetic in any other ways though... My friend can smell certain sounds though... I believe people have much more ability then we've been told, to reduce what our lives are worth so we will work more and be less creative. Like a machine. Anyone feel the same as me?

  • That was cool. Its funny, to me it kind of sounds like an alien spaceship sound when it goes in then a kind of strange high to low humming whistle when it goes out.

  • I hear... a very small and quiet sound that matches the movements of the video. I tried it several times, most times I held my breath and had the computer on mute.

I hardly see how this could be benificial for someone.

  • you're listening to your own breathing, lol.

  • I hear something like a breathing, also, I didn't noticed this before, but I also hear the red thing that tells you the time of the video, and also I hear a little when people talk, even though I am really far away to be able to hear them, has this happened to anyone else?

  • Breathing!

  • i heard nothing nothing at all

  • WHEE WHUM WHEE WHUM WHEE WHUM

  • im pretty sure a lot of people who are 'hearing' the image (like if they say they hear breathing, because that is too generic of a sound), are just thinking thats what they hear through the speakers. if you are synesthetic you would be able to turn the volume on mute and still hear the sound while you watch the image.. correct?

  • heard breathing too

  • I didn't hear anything but that shape has a cold and focussed personality.

  • it was like a telephone ringing but ongoing

  • hmmmm. I dont hear anything ;(

  • Holy shit! I expected to just be able to feel a sound but I actually heard one!

  • I did here a sound but it's kind of hard to describe. It was almost like a trolly with slightly squeaky wheels being pushed back and forth.

  • it just sounds like a bizzzzz and buzzzzzz, bizzzzzzzzzzzz, buzzzzzzzzzzzz, bizzzzzzzzz, buzzzzzzzzzz.

  • I heard the sound of wind slowly flowing through a pipe

  • I have letter number color synesthesia

  • @Mizlymiz that's the most useful one, give it to me

  • Not only do I hear a sound like somebody breathing with a mouthful of marbles, I taste something like very soggy rice and feel something like someone tapping my throat repeatedly. Yeah, it's cool seeing and tasting music and stuff like that, but Synaesthesia can be as annoying as hell!

  • Do and Sol!! that's it!

  • It sounded like slight scraping of sandpaper!!!!

  • It would be better if they asked the question after the animation to eliminate the power of suggestion.

  • I hear someone is taking a deep breath and again and again

  • Comment removed

  • i hear a whirring... in fact i still hear it... i must be synaesthetic...

    ...

oh wait, that's my computer fan - oh well

  • just a whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring. and i dont think i actually hear it. i think my brain is doing it. so i dont think i hv synesthesia :[ does synesthesia people hear with their ears or with their brain?

  • @atkaJ Both. There's what's called association and projection. Association happens in the head, and projection is outside of the body. I think you have it! xD

  • @atkaJ Yup, you have synaesthesia.

  • It sounded like a high pitched "ahhh AHHH ahhh" like if someone were singing. Very pleasant :]

  • My synesthesia is mostly sound-image and texture oriented, and a little bit of number/letter-color oriented (but decidedly less intense than sound-image and texture). I

t's difficult to describe what I hear. It sounds like a mix of a crackle and a sizzling sparkler, as the light fountain goes out, and when the image reverses, it sounds like the crackling, sizzling sparkler is inhaling. It doesn't exactly "play in reverse", it "inhales."

  • I didn't hear shit! I imagined I heard something though... like a fizzling sound, but I doubt most people can actually hear it

  • Heh, I heard a crinkling noise.

  • I can't really describe how it sounds... it doesn't sound like anything else, it sounds like other shit that moves sounds to me x) if that makes sense... it makes a moving noise...

  • When the dots move out I hear a tone that slides up in pitch. When they move in, I hear the tone sliding down in pitch.

Is there a test for sound-texture synesthesia?

  • Watch videos of huge explosions or crazy fight scenes. They are very loud for me. Slow motion always kills the sound though. I find crazy robot anime battle scenes create the loudest noises as they tend to shake the camera a lot.

  • I hear my own thoughts, telling me that I don't hear anything.

  • Um... I sometimes imagine images with words. Like, when I hear the word "months" I picture someone tapping their chin. Would that be a form of synesthesia or am I just insane?

  • Damn, I didn't hear anything. :(

  • i hear heartbeat ?

  • i dont hear something in reality.. but in my head it has a sound but i cant really hear it as i would hear it with my ears.. i don't know if it makes sense

  • it breathes!!

  • @Kraehenauge Yeah, that is right. I couldn't hear it but a related sound came with along with it. I could feel how it was inhaling and exhaling.

  • lol i thought i heard something... but it was a plane passing by

  • The power of suggestion, and people's endless desire to be "different" or "gifted" in precisely the kind of harmless and mystical way synesthesia is, I'm sure strongly influence the rate of self-diagnosed cases. The condition likely exists, but probably only in about 1% of self-diagnosed synesthetes. I certainly "hear" something when watching this, much as I "see" music, but I also know that the brain has a rich and complicated way of interpreting things, and that is not due to synesthesia.

  • @ftwelve12 For people who have it, it isn't really like just hearing motion or seeing sound through association and not being able to tell the difference. I heard nothing when I watched this, but I have alphabet/numeric synesthesia and it isn't that I simply relate certain colors to letters...the letters ARE those colors. Most people w/ synesthesia don't realize it until several years later. I thought it was just something everyone did, and it wasn't unique or special :)

  • I don't hear anything, but I can certainly feel it. But that may be normal :-)

  • I can't even really describe what i'm hearing, it's very quiet and it sounds like an instrument made from dropping pins in a silent room. I know it's weird, and when the animation changes directions, it's like the same tune plays but notes in reverse order. So if it first went like G-C-E it would then go E-C-G. Man i feel weird typing this.

  • @sgtchicken For me i hear like bubbles sounds when they go in reverse i hear a slight breeze

  • a growing glissando when diverging and a descending glissando when converging

  • The only thing that looks like is deep breathing. But that's pretty obvious.

  • ha it sounds like a suction hole, sometimes its fun to have it, but i do get teased for my constant counting, and relation between objects

  • This is silly but I heard dubstep until the ending music started playing again and I kinda jumped because it occured to me that it was silent and nothing was playing lolz good times good times

  • Damn, imagine the future... Otologic-smell-o-taste-o-vision! Hearing, smell, tastes, and picture! Sounds like a win to me!

  • not really, but i see colours in numbers and shapes

  • @ktlz9 same

  • gugggigigigigigigigigigigigi guwawawawawawawaWaWaWawawaWAWAWWAWA

  • Some of the people here are of course lying, and didn't hear anything.

Then there are the jokers: "I here a knocking... oh, there's somebody at the door."

Then there are the jokers who confuse synaesthesia with schizophrenia and joke about THAT: "It's telling me to kill my neighbor."

And there are some who, expecting to hear something, imagine what it should sound like and think that's the same thing.

    durned character limit

  • But some people here are already synesthetes and know it. There are here out of proportion to their percentage in the general public. In the same way that almost everybody at a lacrosse game loves lacrosse, even though most of the general public are not fans.

Finally, there are those who admit they heard nothing, and perhaps the smallest group of all: those who truly discovering, here for the first time, that they have synaesthesia.

I IMAGINED a heartbeat, but didn't actually HEAR anything.

  • @SailorBarsoom I imagined it too. But I think I related it to the hearth valve, which I already saw in one video.

  • @SailorBarsoom But how do I know if it's my subconsious creating the sounds or if I actually have the condition?

That has been my concern whenever I experience this. ;D

  • @LogicalMadness

I'm afraid I don't really have an answer. It seems that synesthesia is consistent, that is, if you experience it one time, you will experience it each time, and the same way.

But is there any such thing as "a mild case?" That might be subtle enough that you're not sure that you have it at all. But do such mild cases exist? I don't know.

  • it sounded like breathing. whooommm whaammmmm... whooooommmm whhaammmmmm

  • @tyniehawk When I see a picture of a person's face, I "hear" an echo of their voice, and this video makes me "hear" the sound of breathing just because it resembles that.

  • @jarblewarble Interesting. If I watch a snake flicking its tongue, it sounds like 'dun dun dun dun dun'. Among other sights making noises, if I watch a ball dropping on mute, i will hear that 'pheeeeeeeww......' sound, you know like a cartoon dropping noise.

  • @tyniehawk same here!

  • @tyniehawk sort of for me except it sounded like an obnoxious person making a eeeeoooooo oooooooowaaaaaaaaaam eeeeeeoooooo oooooowaaaaaaam and it was kinda high pitched like a male falsetto... i sound like a lunatic...

  • @tyniehawk IT DID!!! lol

  • @tyniehawk

    SAME!! I HEARD BREATHING!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @tyniehawk lol i even muted to see if it was coming from my headphones wtf...?

  • I hear "hee-ooh-hee-ooh" sort of like breathing. Is that even surprising? I think that's what the animation suggests.

  • it feels like it's sucking my ears in....

  • i hear kinda like a swish as it goes outwards and swoosh as it goes inwards. dont know how to explain.

  • i heard C and an A

  • I heard my interest flying away.....

    No.. just kidding (:

  • It sounds like water moving

  • i heared breathing lol

  • i heard a high sound when it expanded, and then a low sound when it contracted.

  • never heard of synaesthesia...is that a bad thing?

  • @XxRaynneDropxX ya ull die if u hav it

  • @XxRaynneDropxX No, it's awesome.

  • I heard a very low bass sound... was kinda annoying

  • when i watch this i get like a high pitched ringing noice in my head, its faint but i can hear it, i watched this 3 times and it happened all three times and stopped when the animation ended. does this mean i have synaesthesia???

  • i herd like differant tones of white noise like sound.....

  • But I didn't hear anything except that little trumpet at the end.

  • This made my stomach feel like I was on a fair ride going forwards and backwards, similar to being on an elevator.

Also, Welocy, there is a noise. I heard it too.

  • Do I have synes .. whatever? When I watch the animation, I hear my mother bitching. Granted, I hear that before and after the animation, but still !!

  • haha wow, i actually thought i had it at first. then im like wow there actually is sound on the video haha

  • i want Synesthesia so bad :'((

  • @PunkerOdSkopje Usually the easiest way to achieve it using strong psychedelic drugs (LSD, Peyote, whatever).

  • @PunkerOdSkopje Trust me, you don't. I have a form of Synethesia that let's me feel sound. The sound of tapping crystal glasses is like being stabbed over my entire body and someone smashing their hands on a piano keyboard actually made me have a small seizure once.

On the other hand, Heavy Metal is very energizing - like having pleasantly hot liquid running through my veins.

  • @PunkerOdSkopje You probably dont want taste or smell synesthesia lol some things I just wouldnt want to be forced to taste or smell all of the time!

  • 7 people thought that was a Justin Bieber song!

  • wooow, nice, popcorn :D

  • i hear sounds, but i think that almost everyone hears something when he sees these kind of effects?

  • It must be like having superhuman powers. I bet Matilda Wormwood had it, and that's why multiplying large complex sums was easy and obvious to her, because she probably experienced a sound, sensation, smell or taste that did it for her! Do you synaesthete folks have nice multiple-sensory experiences or unpleasant ones, or both?

  • i heard someone screaming at me, o wait nvm jus my mom yellin at me cause i smoked in the house again

  • I heard an equation ...

  • I have colour graphemic synaesthesia. Numbers, days of the week, months and many words have associated colours to me. For example, Wednesday is orange. And when I hear the word pencil, I think purple, unless someone mentions the colour of the pencil. My arts teacher experimented with it a bit when I told her. As a chid I thought everybody had it.

  • I hear fire crackling..

  • @artx4321 You actually could be a synaesthete, since physical sensation is a sense, you could have your visual and physical senses combined.

I, however, hear the ocean when I watch this and all of the circles have a blue-ish hue to them.

  • Oh my god! That was like really loud, in all seriousness. I had to cover my ears (although since it's a vison thing, it didn't help much.)

  • i heard wop wop wop wooooooooop wop wop wop woooooooop

  • m... it tastes like chicken

  • I didn't hear anything but I felt like I had a lot of snow in my mouth. If that means anything.

  • @D33P7hr0a72 In your case I believe it means that your sexual orientation is conflicting, and that you need to experiment with the opposite sex

  • @CzarThePlezer No. I am strait. Secondly, this happens with a lot of colors. Like when I see pink I feel like I have taffy in my mouth. And blue I feel like I'm drinking water. Ect...

  • @D33P7hr0a72 Funny since your screen name is Deep Throat.

  • @CzarThePlezer It is rather ironic isn't it? Actually it's got a 2 on the end of it. I use to have a few other channels. One got hacked, another I quite using for personal reasons, the other is reserved for different videos, and I use this one for just watching and stuff. The reasons it's Deep Throat is a reference to Metal Gear Solid. (My friend also has an account like this but without the 2 at the end).

  • Hum, it sounded like a pink fluffly taco.

  • i didnt llterally hear anything but i imagined a niose like heavy wind going in and out

  • @jrcsgtpeppers same felt in on my face too don't reckon i have synesthesia though

  • Weirdly, I did. It was a slight high pitch whistling sound like when wind is rushing through a tiny gap in the window.

  • i heard something like a far-off scream, when it went in it was a deep scream when it went out it was a higher pitched scream

  • Is there a difference between imagining the sound and actually hearing it? What I mean is, I can imagine the sound perfectly like a "Swoosh" back and forth and it comes naturally from the motion. But im not sure if synesthesia is completely, audible sound...?

  • @OGOTENKSO i wonder the same thing let me know if you find an answer

  • breathing. in rhythm to the animation. even stopped breathing to make sure it wasn't me.

  • mm, like a purring sound but slower

  • a lot of motherfuckers below .think they have this condition - bet they also got aids

  • Yeah I heard something....then I realized it was my dryer...

  • I hear water rushing down a drain.

  • I heard like breathing, but a sort of cold synthetic breath.

  • it was like the sound when blood rushes to your ears cause u close ur eyes tightly- kinda of what the LOST sound sounds like before they change scenes. But instead of a constant flow, it went back and forth when the dots moved "forward" and "away."

  • i didnt hear a thing... though i kinda wish i could :/

  • it sounded like someone gargling...

  • i heard a strange moaning sound and then it turned into a loud woman screaming. it was very frightening. people should be more aware of this horrible disorder, my doctor thinks i am crazy.

  • anyone hear fluttering sounds like a million tiny wings?? and then contractions like a muscle cramp? not a pleasant sound tho, and also i felt quite itchy on legs

  • @queenofallmonkeys that is fucking crazy.... is this the first time you have experienced such a phenomenon with knowing of it?

  • @zulsty well, i always felt kinda intchy when i watch movies when there are bats flying out or locusts on tv.(even without sound), or snakes crawling by... i might have took it to be tiny insects... and a muscular contraction.....this might have explained i guess.. :)

  • i heard a voice tell me to dig up john lennon, resurrect him, and kill him again

  • blub blub blub blub... ppfhhuuuu....blub blub

  • @AlterEgoTrip heard that and sort of and explotion in low motion.

  • sort of a squeak.., like when someone someone holds the end of an inflated balloon, just enough to let some air out.

  • does anyone hear a donkey?

  • Wow. This tasted delicious. Thanks!

  • sounds like someone breathing

  • @ohmphthschwrhu Same here.

  • i heard bubbly noises 0__0

  • If you listen closely at 0:08 you can hear very faintly "were not gonna take it....."

  • I heard a man singing Laaa Looo Laaa Looo Laaa Looo.. did anyone else>? lol

  • I didn't hear anything, but it felt like the sound of a vacuum, if that makes any sense.

  • I saw green and someone blowing into something. LOL

  • Does anyone else see a little green?

  • I felt a pull and push within my head, I heard a little bit of noise kinda like blowing into a bottle within my head(Best way to discribe it). Hm. Does it mean, that I could posibally have it?

  • @Valosia it means youre an air head.

  • @Valosia That's what felt too

  • I hear nothing , probably because i listen music in the same time =D

  • I could hear the balls hitting each other!! but perhaps I was imagining things!

  • i got a headache cuz it feels like the motion try to push in and out of my head..

  • I DO feel this tug or pull of gravity. I hear this dull sound idk how to describe it ... a whooshing sound maybe??? and it tastes alot like really warm water. I also sense a flat gray color.

  • I don't have synaesthesia because all though I can imagine a sound of a little cartoon mouse breathing in and out it doesn't mean my senses are fucked up for a diagnosis and shame on you if you go around all your friends like some dellusional jesus in the market saying out loud I THINK I HAVE THIS AND I THINK I HAVE THAT! trust me if you had something that needs to be treated and diagnosed you would have already felt its negative outcomes already.

  • i sometimes can taste sounds to.. and they also taste most of the time like a vagina :D awesome that there are others to :)

  • the motion feels like a heartbeat and theres a strange pull at the same time, like when you jump down from a diving platorm and your intestines experience this gravity thing...

there is no actual sound, but my ears feel like the would be underwater with this particular pressure....

Watching this makes me feel uncomfortable and sick, but i cannot stop replaying it, though...

seems to work, thumbs up for this one.... ^^

  • I hear breathing but at the same time that sucked in feeling like after youve been in the ocean to long and when you get out you still feel the pull.

  • @jennaashleigh18824 i heard breathing too

  • wow everyone who watched this video is synesthetic =o I thought it was a rare condition

  • @IEatHarlots Nah its just that every one in the western world wants to feel special without doing anything.

  • i dont hear anything, but i see like these green traces?

  • i hear the wind blowing

  • i felt weird watching it though... like i was being pulled into it.. :O

  • like a loud pitch squeal and then a slightly lower pitched woosh sound. wow

  • I heard a ding! Oh wait, that's just somebody messaging me on Kopete...
