@SquirrelOfTheNight Its kind of a running joke. They use it for various experiements, but Walter also milks the cow for fresh milk for drinking and also making snacks, for the munchies of course! LOl.

@SquirrelOfTheNight The cow was original brought to the lab becasue cows and humans have similar DNA so it was an "ethical" way to do experiments. Of course, since then Gene has become like one of the show's characters and is sadly underused, because every scene with Gene tends to be light-hearted and occasionally hilarious.
