It's weird for me to think that the original could be better than the cover, or the cover could be better than the original because they're both beautiful and unique in their own way.

Yes it's the same song, but I love the tension and release the original creates, but I also really enjoy the sad, melancholy feel that the Gorillaz puts into the song. <3

Both versions are breath taking, we should be happy that there are two versions of an amazing song.

I love Gorillaz, and i like the XX, but tbh Gorillaz were always quirky and different and i grew up with the cartoons taking the centre stage , it seems like Damon is getting more upfront and leaving the animated band out of it. Still Damon's voice is heavenly and Plastic beach was different but still contained that gorillaz element. i still love them :)

Honestly, I don't think one is better than the other. They are both great in significantly different ways for the same song. I think the vocals for this version are more raw and a little more broken, more emotional in some ways. It sounds like it's being sung by a man broken. As for The XX, yes, their vocals are clearer and appealing in their own manner too (I enjoy their accents myself). And the backing music are clearly different but are good. I just think for the people who don't like this
