I have seen Andrea perform twice in concert and I can assure you it is the greatest musical experience I've ever endured. The applauses for him were so thunderous you would have thought it was coming down from the heavens. I have read his book, Andrea Bocelli "The Music of Silence", A Memoir, and was truly enlightened about his life. If you have questions, you'll get your answers from this book. Ciao
Blind or not, it's so totally, totally awesome to know that someone with this "disability" can out sing most people who have no disabilities.
Also, have you ever wondered if blind people dream or not? I think that maybe the ones who are born blind cannot because how would they make a shape with their mind?
@ricardo522042 You do realize that his "disability" would have no affect on his vocal folds, or his lungs. It's really not at all impressive that he's able to sing, with the little technique that he possess'.
@ricardo522042 Blindness would not stop one's brain from dreaming, their dreams would just be different then those who can see. Blind people see things and form images in their brain through touch and sound so their dreams would use those senses.
He was born with a severe case of glaucoma - in which MOST cases are blind by the age of 15 to 25. The got hit in the head with a soccer ball while playing soccer - at the age of 12 and this burst his eye balls (glaucoma DOES swell the eye balls) and he was rendered completely blind at the age of 12!! Probably seeing some bright light and nothing more. So his parents KNEW that before he reached the age of 20 - he would be completely blind.
he became blind because of glaucoma then he had a foot accident.. he became blind because of the disease not the accident :) have a great day everyone...
the video is terrible also the audio...you should see STORY BEHIND THE VOICE is complete and better

OK - here is the scoop on Bocelli blindness:
He was born with a severe case of glaucoma - in which MOST cases are blind by the age of 15 to 25. His blindness is the result of a desease (glaucoma) and a foot accident.
