Can we just get rid of the reality shows and go back to MUSIC Television?
-The Jersey Shore? A bunch of whores that live together and go to the beach alot? You need to be more creative than that.
-Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant? A bunch of girls who shouldve kept their legs crossed? Yea i see enough of that at school.
MTV Cribs? Seriously? I have a house too, wanna see!?? Sorry i dont have 9 cars, 4 pools and a home theatre. But i do have a pile of dirty clothes youre welcome to wash for me ;)
@Boojkill Yes. The Challlenger disaster happened at 1128am on January 28th, and by 1pm the space shuttle promo was replaced--never to be seen again. I was flipping channels that afternoon watching the news, and I switched to MTV just to see.
@towringer You're apparently misremembering. This Feb. 7, 1986 newspaper article from the Orlando Sun-Sentinel would bear this out: "At first, MTV executives thought of pulling the shuttle logo, but it was decided that it would be appropriate to leave it on as a statement of support for space exploration. A week went by and MTV executives huddled again. It just wasn`t working. Every time MTV`s shuttle logo blasted off, it reminded viewers of Challenger."
I hope that someone can post the US Lauch of MTV when they first debuted on tv. I cannot find that video anywhere when the announcer says: Ladies and gentleman, rock n roll.
I remember. Used to wake up early so I could get a dose of music videos before I headed off to grammar school. No matter when I tuned to MTV it was always music videos playing all day.

So that's means the space shuttle
was already replace because of the
challenger disaster? But did you have the
January 28th MTV promo without
the space shuttle promo?
